Is it that everyone here is blind and only @kanixt get eyes ni?

1. The report says the staff has been complaining about the salary for Years. Abeg, when dangote refinery start?!

2. The staff complained about taxes. Is it dangote that chops the taxes ni?

3. And the disparity between salaries of Nigerian engineers and expatriates? You are paid N500k/month and the white guys are paid $26k (N39million/month)? And you do the same job with the same standards?

Who here on nairaland would pay N39million for a job when he can get another equally competent person for N500k?

Now, imagine you are paying that difference, N38.5m, every month for the rest of your business life. Just because the person na oyinbo.

And this make sense to you guys? How?
You have a deep knowledge. You can predict future .

The situation, according to the engineer, escalated after the circulation of reports that while Nigerian workers received modest increases, Indian expatriates’ salaries were doubled from $13,000 to $26,000 per month.

Indians receiving 26,000 USD per month at Dangote Refinerieshuh This is pure propaganda by NUPENG and PENGASON to paint dangote black

BIG LIE!

When exactly does Dangote Refinery commences operation?
If you don't like the job or company why not resign!

You lied, I have them, they don't collect a dime. And they investigate before publishing.
CLRF:
I wondered how any years Dangote has been operating. FIJ has always been a brown envelope publisher. They did similar nonsense for NIMC, publishing reputation damaging news against the commission.

I took time in one of my threads to discuss how dangote's devious plan to avoid his staff joining union is for bad but some people thought I said things out of hate.

It's simple, Nigerian capitalists are very wicked!

Have you seen anybody working in any dangote's company having enough savings to build a house or really living large like other staff working in international corporations like MTN, IOCs ?

their CEOs are not even half as much wealthy as dangote

He simply thrives on slave labor. And he's not alone in this many small and medium scale businesses are like that too
I have never seen anyone working in mtn, ioc building houses every 10th year.

Don't mind those morons yapping foolishly. The salary scale was even worse during the construction phase of the refinery. He only slightly upped their salary when production started. Very unfair businessman

Don't talk like that. If there's anywhere we need to ensure that Nigerian workers are treated fairly and properly, it should be from Dangote, he the single private largest employer of labour in Nigeria.
Re: Why Dangote Sacked Refinery Staff - FIJ by NoToPile: 10:07pm On Oct 02, 2025
After examining the procedure used in the disengagement of workers, the meeting agreed that the management of Dangote Group shall immediately begin the process of redeploying the disengaged staff to other companies within the Dangote Group, with no loss of pay

“No worker will be victimised arising from their role in the impasse between Dangote and PENGASSAN. PENGASSAN agreed to start the process of calling off the strike. Both parties agreed to this understanding in good faith.”
How on earth did pengassan agree to this nonsense in bold.

Other companies within the Dangote group?

The article shouldn't be news but some will still not believe it.

Some are saying he can't pay engineers 400k monthly, oya how much is he paying then?

This country has made a lot of damage to the faculty of thinking of most people including u. That you think someone should not supposed to be encouraged to do the right thing just because he is wealthy. And you agreed that by doing so that person should tell his father to build similar thing.

No mind them, when was Dangote refinery established
Re: Why Dangote Sacked Refinery Staff - FIJ by hotseat: 10:30pm On Oct 02, 2025
Who can recall when the Dangote Refinery actually came on steam after several roadblocks, impediments and gang-ups?

Just September, 2024!

Those who are working against the interest of the refinery before and after inception won't relent in their attempt at frustrating Dangote.

This is the handiwork of the same cabals.

The so-called FIJ cannot go to town with only one side of the narrative without hearing from the other side.

An objective investigation must hear from both sides and not this biased, jaundiced and one-sided castigation.

This is a brand new refinery and must be given some time to find its footing.

All the other multinational oil companies are just concerned about crude oil exploration and exploitation without refining not even a single drop of refined products in the country.

Shell, Chevron, etc have no refineries in the country.

Dangote is the only visible, viable and large scale indigenous oil refining company in Nigeria.

There's even an international dimension/conspiracy against the company because Nigeria no longer imports refined products as it used to do.

The coming on stream of the Dangote Refinery has therefore jolted them hence the gang-up.

The workers are all ungrates!

If you don't like the terms and conditions of service of your employer, the best thing for you to do is to resign.

The workers are not under any obligation to work for Dangote Refinery.

This is exactly how the Port-Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna refineries were made to rot away despite several fruitless turn around maintenance.

PENGASSAN and her affiliates: let the Dangote Refinery be!

@hotseat

Seun abeg borrow me 49 characters... This is serious.

Look at what the expatriate collects... 26k dollars. If true, that is quite bad that their local colleagues collect less than $1,000
My problem is that if Nigerian Engineers are the ones going to work in India, they would be called immigrants and their pay would be way lower than what Indians are paid.

This applies in every country of the world. But once these guys come here to Nigeria, our big men would give them soldiers and Mopol, and would call them expatriates and would elevate them above and pay them higher than the Nigerians.

Why don't you send these Nigerians to India or UK or US, wherever, for them to be taught and come back to work here? Or why don't you engage these "expatriates" on on train-the-trainer basis, pay them as contract, say for one year, and discharge them? Must they flood the place and get paid higher than Nigerians? We have always been our own problems.
