saint2ace:How does this ecoflow compare with hithium and the other one?? |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by saint2ace(m): 5:15pm On Sep 25, 2025 |
ibietela2:Sturdier, better support and most importantly more efficient. The build of the hithium is based on using a boost converter to boost 1pc 3.2v 280ah lithium cell to 12v, so definitely a lot of energy is lost in that conversion, while the ecoflow uses 4 strings of 3.2v cylindrical cells in series to create a 12v system, which is by far more efficient. Lastly, you can't beat the app support as well as the updates available with the ecoflow. However, the final decision rests with you as the buyer, it's your money afterall. Cheers |

Greetings everyone I want to purchase a Starlink and I have a few questions. I want to purchase the gen 2 simply because it offers as much speed as the gen 3 while coming with a mounting rack as against none that comes with the gen 3 (except purchased separately for a high fee). Are there any other genuine and key reasons why you will advice a newbie to buy the Gen 3 as against gen 2? I live in the middle belt ( not Abuja) is it still true and valid today that When I purchase the Starlink in a state like Niger state, I don't get to pay an activation fee (80k). I noticed a few vendors that I reached out to for starlink includes 50k installation fee, 57k subscription fee and 80k activation fee even though activation fee is only for Lagos and Abuja Do I necessarily need to hire someone for set up or is it something an average person will be able to set up. Thank you all |

Good morning amazing people, Please what locally fabricated pole can I use to Mount my Starlink mini. Can anyone share me pictures I can give to a welder or something? I called an installer and he told me the pole alone is 80k. They think people using starlink are rich, right? Please fast response from anyone using this will be highly appreciated. Thanks! |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by Galaxyroyp(m): 9:01am On Sep 28, 2025 |
yubiman:Thanks man! Just seeing this. Fortunately, I bought it from Jumia and the delivery was fast. Yes, you're right about power consumption. it's averaging 22-25 watt while it's working. The issue now is mounting. I called an installer and he said the pole only is 80k. I quickly end the call. If I may ask, how did you Mount yours? I've read somewhere around here or so to fabricate a pole from a welder. If you have that, I'd appreciate if i could get a picture. Thank you very much. |

Galaxyroyp:Starlink installers will fleece you. When really there's absolutely nothing technical about mounting a starlink. Just attach to a pole and mount at the highest point. Best if you have a water tank structure you can leverage or roof access. A dstv installer is who I used. But this was for a gen 2 starlink so I'll let mini users advice. |

dustmalik:Another month gone.. Just resubscribed ✨️ Three months in and I am yet to experience any downtime 🫱🏻🫲🏼 |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by dustmalik(m): 10:26pm On Sep 28, 2025 |
nani667:It's good that you are enjoying it and it's been consistent. What I was trying to say is that, Nigeria, as it's today, is not ideal for Fibre. Overseas, you can't just wake up and start digging anywhere you like. You must take permission from your local council office, which has all the plans and schematics of the location. If you try it without their knowledge, you will be arrested and prosecuted. But in Nigeria, anybody can just decide to dig anywhere and end up destroying fibre cables and nothing happens to the person. Service providers will then have to mobilize to that location to carry out repairs or change the damaged cables. Sometimes, it takes weeks before they're able to trace and replace these damaged parts. So, just pray that nobody damages the infrastructure that supplies your location. These things happen very often. Fibre is the best internet connection, but the most vulnerable in Nigeria, because of our laws. |

dustmalik:MTN FibreX in my area is mounted on poles, not underground. |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by yubiman(m): 11:17pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
Galaxyroyp:Look for a welder in your area to make a pole for you. Just give him the pole grip that came with the mini so he can get the diameter. I spent 15k for mine. |

saint2ace:But you can't compare the price. Ecoflow is like twice more expensive for the 1kwh. |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by saint2ace(m): 6:59am On Oct 01, 2025 |
Ournolly:What you consider as pricing, for some is called value for money. The question is what do you consider as value? |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by Ournolly: 8:38am On Oct 01, 2025 |
saint2ace:But the value is not even close to consider the so called 'value for money'. Like Ecoflow 1kwh is twice more expensive than Hithium 1kwh. To put it in perspective, Hithium 2kwh is the same price with Ecoflow 1kwh. So, you think Ecoflow 1kwh offers more value for money or the same value with Hithium 2kwh? |

nani667:Bro, there's no need for the update. Just understand that he's trying to give you perspective on pros & cons. All over the world today, wherever Fibre rolls out, Starlink gets retired for obvious reasons. Even Starlink isn't marketed to compete with fibre, plus we're not really getting that great speeds for the Starlink in Abuja & Lagos compared to advertised. MTN Fibre X has also come to my Estate & I have been testing it out simultaneously for 2 months, it's been great! Probably by the end of the year, I will keep my Starlink as a good backup or take it along to the village or something. |

I got the starlink Gen 2 from Konga today..I activated it and added my card. I was billed.. after a while it showed that I need to activate starlink now to continue to use it. I am trying to activate it and it keeps telling me device already assigned. also on the app, it says Router unreachable. My network speed is also very low 27Mbps download and 30Mbps upload can anyone render any help? |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by ijeezlux(m): 8:13am On Oct 03, 2025 |
Opebiman:You just said you activated it with your card. I don't think you need any other activation. Starlink mini is more or less a plug and play device. How did you test your network speed, is it via the starlink app or fast dot com |

Ournolly:Actually I am a die hard fan of ecoflow but it may be over pricing. But the features of ecoflow is different. 5 years warranty. Pikin wey be 5 years don dey talk. Mobile controls. Those app support. But well solar is so cheap now. Me personally I can't buy ecoflow or bluetti right now. But Ecoflow is so so strong. But who wan knack him solar for ground? |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by Ournolly: 12:30am On Oct 04, 2025 |
Laughnow419:That's my point too. Ecoflow is a great product but overpriced and I totally disagree with the 'value for money' tag. As much as I want quality I consider the price too and hithium 2kwh offers more value for the money than ecoflow 1kwh at the same pricing. |

| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by Ournolly: 9:45am On Oct 04, 2025 |
ibietela2:Of course. Taking the DOD @90% it can power 200w freezer for 9 hours at night. |

I just noticed that one of the best router to use alongside starlink mini is that old mtn hynetflex router. .before now I have been having issues on how to use a third party router without activating the starlink mini router bypass mode. . I have 3 old routers that I bought previously and was about disposing them. I tried two of the old router without bypassing the starlink, they didn't work very well. I even bought an ethernet switch from jumia for 18k, but the switch turned out to be fake and inferior. It didn't work and i Was very angry. Sometin just told me to try the hynetflex router because I have not tried it with the starlink before. I tested it with the starlink mini, surprisingly it worked very well without activating the starlink bypass mode. Presently the internet speed of my android tv box alone is around 80Mbps |

ijeezlux:Maybe my MTN 5G router fit work with Starlink as a 3rd party router instead of this my tplink router Has anyone tried the MTN 5G router alongside starlink as a 3rd party router? |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by saint2ace(m): 9:12pm On Oct 05, 2025 |
georgee:The Airtel X25 pro 5G router works just fine and still transmits at Cat6 speed. Just make sure you pre-configure your User ID and password before connecting and of course remove any SIM card. Also works as an extender when paired to other routers via LAN. |
