The Gambia Police Force has secured convictions against five Nigerian nationals, including Henry Obinna, at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, marking a significant step in the fight against cybercrime.

The accused faced charges of unlawful possession of devices and data, computer-related extortion, fraud, and forgery. During proceedings, all five defendants pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them.

According to the police, the convicts have been remanded at Mile II Central Prison pending plea in mitigation and sentencing, which is scheduled for October 6, 2025.

The Gambia Police Force reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to combating all forms of crime, particularly cybercrime. Authorities assured the public that they will continue to pursue such offences with diligence and professionalism to uphold national security and safeguard citizens.

I lived in Gambia for four years.
These people are the ones disgracing Nigerians everywhere in the world.
They are in Gambia with their get rich quickly mentality. Drug and Cyber crimes.
The day I learnt my church members were into Drug, I felt terrible. These guys lived in luxury bragging.

Then, came one day, 2001 or 2002 (cant remember which)
We woke up to a bad news on the radio.
There was never an armed robbery before, that was the first time in the history of the nation. Gambia was a peaceful country, I dont know as of today.

In the news, "Four Nigerians have been arrested for armed robbery,"

Those are not their names, but that was how they were called. All Igbo.
