Tinubu's Reforms Have Stabilised The Economy, Says Peter Mbah by ryloy(op): 5:33pm On Oct 03, 2025
Peter Mbah, governor of Enugu state, says President Bola Tinubu’s reforms have stabilised the nation’s economy.

In a message marking the anniversary of Nigeria’s independence, Mbah congratulated citizens on “the proud milestone” while calling for optimism and unity in the face of present challenges.

He assured that the Tinubu administration’s economic policies and citizens’ huge sacrifices would ultimately pay off if the nation stays the course.

Mbah said although the anniversary may be low-key, it does not eliminate Nigeria’s giant strides as an independent nation.

“At 65, our independence is a reminder of what we can achieve as a people when we are united. It is also a reminder that progress demands sacrifice, and that tomorrow is shaped by the choices we make today,” he said.

“The commemoration of our 65th independence anniversary may understandably be low-key, but the significance of the strides we have made as a nation is by no means underwhelming.

“Those strides are manifest in the remarkable achievements we have recorded across key sectors.

“They reflect as well in the bold reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that have brought stability to the Nigerian economy. The sacrifices may be huge today, but there is no doubt that the end will vindicate the decisions if we stay the course.

“As we raise our flags today, let us renew our covenant to Nigeria; let us embrace the spirit of unity, and let us uphold the optimism that has carried us this far.”

The governor assured of his administration’s commitment to an inclusive development model that leaves no one behind.

He said Enugu is on the pathway to exponential economic growth.

“In Enugu State, this Independence Day is a fitting occasion to recommit to our pledge to make inclusion the cornerstone of government policy; to create wealth and deploy it for the benefit of everyone in Enugu State. We are staying the course. And no one will be left behind,” he said.

“From moribund assets roaring back to life, to Ndi Enugu enjoying a resounding sense of security of lives and property, our children transitioning to 260 Smart Green Schools, our rural communities accessing modern healthcare courtesy of our completed or ongoing 260 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres.

“Ndi Enugu commuting conveniently and affordably via our modern transport system and infrastructure… Enugu State is no doubt on the pathway to assured turnaround and exponential economic growth.”

When the real dividends of the administration of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) starts filtering in, Nigerians will think it’s magic, forgetting they labored for it.

His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) is on course and track. Nothing would have been done differently even if Jesus was the President.

His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) has always been a perfectionist. The only mistake he made in his entire existence on Earth was Babajide Sanwo-olu

With net foreign reserves rising from $4bn in 2023, to $42bn today is a huge milestone.

From 97% of government revenue spent on debt servicing in 2023, to less than 50% today is another great milestone.

Yes, the economy is stabilising.

For the first time I would say the Governor of Enugu State is either hallucinating or has decided to join the Bandwagon of praise-singers and Halleluyah boys making such an expensive statement based on the Illusionary Naira Denominated FAAC Allocation that he receives.
Re: Tinubu's Reforms Have Stabilised The Economy, Says Peter Mbah by bentenny(m): 11:53pm On Oct 03, 2025
The question is how?
Has the reform reduced insecurity?
Has the reform made the electoral system better?
Have the reforms reduced food inflation beyond where it was in 2015?
Have the reforms reduced transport cost?

Well, with the rumours that he might soon join APC,I'm not surprised that he is making such declaration!

Hypocrites and sycophants everywhere . Always saying something else when they really mean something else for their personal benefits.

May we all never get too close to them nor even have reasons for them to ever remember us.

Kindly note that the figure of $41B is the Gross External Reserve and not the net, Leave Bayo Onanuga to continue propaganda,

Secondly, the figure was $35B when Buhari handed over with $31B encumbered on Forward sales and other debt obligations.

The PBAT Government through its attractive interest rate on Money Market denominated in Dollars ($) attracted hot portfolio investors with additional $17B which forms part of the reserves + Loans from International donor Agency + Remittances from Diasporans who had sought greener pastures based on a battered and devalued currency and failing economy.

May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu

According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”

On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.

Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.

He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.

He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.

“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.

“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”

Don’t you think that it is better for him to go and follow waist-focused Akpabio’s mocking advice to 200 million Nigerians under the clueless economic hardship yoke of APC extreme poverty shege since 2015, which was taken to the extra level in 2023?
