Adeboye to lead prayers for Nigeria

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, will host a special thanksgiving service to commemorate the 65th Independence anniversary of Nigeria.

In a statement made available to Saturday PUNCH, RCCG said the service, themed “The King of kings,” will take place at the church’s national headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, on Sunday.

According to the RCCG, the programme was inspired by a divine direction, and it would feature special prayers for public office holders in the country.

“Guided by divine direction, Pastor Adeboye will lead special prayers for government executives, legislators, politicians, electoral institutions, peacekeeping groups, political leaders, elder statesmen, students of political science, citizens’ rights organisations, and for the people of Nigeria at large,” the statement read.

The church urged the general public to join the programme, describing it as a “solemn national intercession for peace, unity, and divine progress for the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.

Although I am a devout Christian, I must say that religious leaders have done more harm than good to this country. They sell ordinary Nigerians false hope just so they don't revolt against their political friends.

Politicians and religious leaders are friends, but religious leaders don't call them to order. Only Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah makes efforts to challenge these politicians. God will never do for any man what He has given him the power and intellect to do for himself!

You cannot gaslight anyone again bro. No one stops you from protesting.

Protest is your right as a Nigerian, so must Daddy Adeboye always be the one to lead a protest?

Who led prayers for the UAE, the US, Russia, China and the likes??! The other day, China's former agriculture minister, Tang Renjian, was sentenced to death for corruption. But here??

Pastor Adeboye is just wasting what's left of his days on this one! After the useless prayers, status quo continues!

I'm just ashamed for this country called Nigeria.

I believe in God, most white civilizations also do the same but they don't lead prayers to save their countries, they save their countries themselves

Dear Daddy Adeboye, and other men of God in Nigeria, Muslim or Christians, what we need is action and not prayer.

We should stop deceiving ourselves, we cannot continue to pray for protection when our governors are looting our security vote... The FG failed to build and secure our borders and yet we believe prayer can prevent us from attacks.

As much as religion have a positive impact, I wish Nigeria can stop capitalising on it and start using common sense, intelligence, and logic.

Imagine if the Country Israel depended solely on prayers as we do, Hamas for don wipe them out......We need well thought out Actions, We need visionary leaders not thieves, We need capable hands chosen out of merit not ethnical criterias.....80% Action 20% prayers

...the reverse is the case in Nigeria, we expect God to repair what we intentionally damage

He is a religious leader and not a politician, This is his own way of solving problem which is praying.
A 5 years old knows this.
Go and protest if you want to protest, There is no law that says religious leaders must start a protest.
Re: Adeboye To Lead Prayers For Nigeria by malali: 9:54am On Oct 04, 2025
If Adeboye’s prayers actually worked, Nigeria would have been fixed years ago.
He’s been praying for this country since the day I was born, and yet things keep getting worse.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Maybe this time he should try cursing Nigeria , might finally make a difference.
Re: Adeboye To Lead Prayers For Nigeria by Meedon: 9:54am On Oct 04, 2025
Religion should be seen as cruise and not to be taken seriously, until al these preachers and politicians start sharing their riches to the poor.

Prayers can't solve our prayers. Prayers is meant to make God of Men rich not the populace.

Pastors are wealthy but they are telling poor people to pray instead of encouraging them to hold their leaders accountable. Which imaginary God wan come help me pay house rent, electricity bill, transport fare etc. Weh don skyrocket. Make una continue to the play.

See below wetin his God (Yahweh) is saying is his supposed holy book. Is this not what a devil would say.

"Isaiah 45:7 says, "I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create calamity. I, the LORD, do all these things" ¹.

Yorubas have lost which rights ? grin says who ? You ? Forgotten how Buhari described you guys ?

You have no say. At all.

Yorubas have ALWAYS fought for the rights of EVERYONE. Peter Obi had most of his supporters from Yorubas . If you guys had behaved yourselves they could even have insisted 2023 was your turn because they are the ONLY ones the North ever bothers to listen to

The first son of the God who loves tea.
The only man who knows his house address in Heaven already.

Can this man just go and sit down already? The ones he has been leading since 1980, what's the result?
Re: Adeboye To Lead Prayers For Nigeria by seunoyeleyep(f): 9:56am On Oct 04, 2025
But he led protest during Jonathan era. If he had led prayer then, I would take him serious now.
