larrypourl:Nothing is wrong with your present tensioner/adjuster if it's "that rattle noise". Your current belt is stretched out. You'll need a 2160 or 2165 belt. I'm in Lagos, and I repeat there's no OEM 7pk 2170 belt. Even tokunbo is scarce. I'm assuming you haven't distorted your belt/pulley arrangement. |

chillex8:I'll be on the search for Tokunbo belt then. Also, the Allen key bolt holding the adjuster, can you recommend a seller I can buy from as I intend changing the bolt. I'm in Oyo town. Thank you. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by chillex8(m): 7:37pm On Oct 03, 2025 |
larrypourl:The bolt is available in ladipo/Oyingbo, Lagos. Max 2k. It should be cheaper to buy from your location. Cheers |

Pls, I recently bought a 2006 Honda Civic, and one of the first things I noticed is that the fan is connected directly. My scan result also shows two codes — P2413 and P2185. I usually scan my car and tell my mechanic what to fix based on the codes generated, and that approach has been working for me. Now, he agrees with me on the first code, which relates to the EGR, but he doesn’t want to return the fan to its factory setting. I’d rather have that done elsewhere. I need a good mechanic around the Ogba/Abule Egba axis who can sort this out for me. I don’t want to argue with this Azeem. I understand gassuz doesn’t like working on this car. The fuel consumption is high. I used 17 litres of fuel from challenge ibadan to abule Egba, and my calculation is around 17mpg. Around 75 miles journey 90% highway. |

haykay2005:There's a reason the previous owner altered the wiring of the cooling system. Look deeply . |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by haykay2005: 11:19am On Oct 10, 2025 |
chillex8:Yeah. That could be cooling sensor or thermostat failure leading to overheating. I can't just continue with this arrangement. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by chillex8(m): 1:10pm On Oct 10, 2025 |
haykay2005:Resolve that first before reverting back to original wiring setting. |

Fan xirect commection is not hard to revert back. Look for where rhey connected the earth too. Remove it ..but the fuse back and insert it. But by doing so. Your car go do overheating. Better leave the fan connection that way if not them go scatter the car give u. Its an old car with old worn out parts.wirh fake naija fuel.better relax and manage it that way. haykay2005: |

dru23:Once again, this is wrong. Unnecessary exaggeration. |

dru23:So what you are say is that the person that bought your used cars will not live to see his grand children. Right? Sometimes we open our mouth an talk trash just to sound wise but we end up sounding very silly. |

chillex8:I'm not saying you are wrong. But a lot of times, the reason is simply "Nigeria weather dey hot pass America". |

chillex8:You're correct about the adjuster, I recently changed mine to as advised by mech due to the noise but sadly it remain same until another mechanic told me the belt is big and he changed it to a smaller size and the nosie went away, though recent the noise returned but very little compare to when before. Pls I also need the compressor and will be glad if you can share contact of your reliable source. |

Hello guys, i am having an issue with my car. it is a 2008 acura tsx with an automatic transmission. It actually started recently. At cold start, when i switch to reverse, it wont move till i step on the throttle and then you hear this low thud and it moves. once you start driving it, you wont feel that issue again untill you park it for a long time say over night. I has no driveability problems and this issue happens only during reverse at cold start. i have checked the transmission fluid and it still looks okay. I serviced it last july of 2022 with honta atf dw-1. I have taken it to a scan center seeing that my personal scanner is a small one and cant read transmission codes and it was scanned. it didnt throw up any code. i am confused on what to do next. 1) should i drain the fluid and change it and the filter? that might involve bringing the gear down as the filter as i learnt is inside the gear. 2) i spoke with a gear mechanic i saw one day working at ladipo. he says he works on only honda gears and was actually working on that of a pilot when i saw him. he is yet to see the vehicle but said he suspects it is the gear selector switch that might be having an issue. i need suggestions from anyone who has had this sort of experience. |

Do you park your car with hand brake? vivalavida: |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by vivalavida(m): 4:32am On Oct 15, 2025 |
minista94:Yes. All the time. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by minista94(m): 10:34am On Oct 15, 2025 |
Okay, it's not a gear issue, it's the hand brake that does that, it happens to me sometimes especially when i parked overnight vivalavida: |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by vivalavida(m): 1:49pm On Oct 15, 2025 |
minista94:That is when it happens after I parked overnight. I will try not using the hand-brake for the rest of the week and observe. |
