The issue of Nigeria police is no longer news. The ones in my area at Orile will seat in front of the station like how street boys seat on bench. Their job is to be calling small small girls. How on earth u seat carelessly in front a station. Is there training at all for these men cos they don't behave like people who are once trained. Extorting the poor public is now a legal thing. The citizens are fed up

When they start offing them now some people will start crying foul. It has happened before and will happen again and again until they are truly trained and reformed. How can they keep recruiting untrained, uneducated and mentally unstable individuals into the force

That is why Lagos police is active, so it doesn't become another Kwara. Of course threatening with firearm is excessive, and officers can be reported to superior authority, as we have seen officers been dismissed. But policing is important for a big mega city like Lagos. Most of those against police have something to hide, the ignorant innocent people should not set themselves up with their choices and opinions. Stop and search is still one of the biggest deterrence to kidnappers and armed robbers, but the police must do their search professionally, search for firearms or suspicious items. A state can not become unsafe because of the opinions of a few misguided people.

No mind them, stop and search happens everywhere, it is very important in a country like Nigeria where kidnapping is rampant, stop and search is very effective against kidnapping and armed robberies. Lagos state police must mount stop and search on all entry points into Lagos, including the lagoon, bush paths and ghetto routes. It's better for police to delay your time conducting stop and search than for kidnappers to hold you...I am sure they agree to this.
