anonimi:What Language do they speak in Qatar and the UAE? What God do they believe in Qatar and the UAE? What system of education do Qatar and UAE have? The answer to that question is the answer to your question. We have absorbed everything given is by foreigners and like poison, it kills. We live under the illusion that we will eventually become a powerful people using alien tools. |

anonimi:Ironically, you're right!. There's no will on our side to be free. That's the problem. So, if I tell you that we need to jettison the English language, foreign religions, foreign education, you'll find all excuses on the planet on why it won't be possible. Yet, you want to be like Qatar and UAE!! |

anonimi:You see?!! You have no will to be free. The official language in both countries is Arabic. They threw away the colonial language and replaced it with theirs. But you're not ready to do that, yet you want to be like them |

Onewazobia:A vast majority of "we" are ignorant to this reality, thus thinking Nigeria's or Africa's problems are solely our politicians. A vast majority of "we" are distracted by brain rots and divided along religious and ethnic lines. Also some of "our leaders" who were genuine pan Africans, who wanted to break free of western powers were murdered by the same western powers all in the bid to make sure Africa remains the continent where the rest of the world extract cheap resources, poor and undeveloped. Think Thomas Sankara, Muhammad Gaddafi, Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Lumumba etc. Then the majority of African leaders are puppets who are put in their positions by western powers and in that case, whoever pays the piper dictates the tune. Africa will never rise until foreign powers lose their influence on the continent. Africa is the only continent in the world that has every resources necessary to sustain full industrial and technological independence. We can match and surpass the levels of America, Europe, China, and that's exactly the reason why foreign powers have us in perpetual bondage. Think about it. |

ednut1:Not weapons but greed of the political and local leadership will never allow it. There's hardly any African country especially in West Africa, where the Chinese are not deeply involved in mining resources such as gold, diamond etc Africa has already been re-shared, albeit with the agreement of corrupt politically exposed elites. |

Other non-Africans states and nations have steered themselves to prosperity and greater places but Africa wallows in low mindset, greed and corruption Then blame their colonial masters for everything including the rain. |

O boy, no loud am abeg. See, all those places wey u see Germany so, after dem lose WW2, Britain and France take over all the remaining German territories on that map by swap and by dividing Cameroon between them. Na why Cameroon be colonised by Germans but the Mon.keys there di still fight over English and French languages wey na Britain and France recolonise them. The French and the British intentionally created all the territorial problems in Africa inorder to play peoples against each other in a rat race for their benefit. Amalgamation of Northern and Southern Nigeria no suppose happen but it happened because of an economic benefit it was to bring to the British. Theama: |

It has anything to do with what some people did with it. Christianity doesnt belong to europeans, it was forced on them same way it was introduced to africans. |

But the Europeans have gone: if we sincerely don't like how they partitioned Africa then, why not redraw the boundaries to reflect our socio-cultural reality instead of blaming the Europeans capitalists who from all indices are far better than the criminal African governments. For example, in Nigeria why are the ruling class insisting on a colonial "one indivisible Nigeria" It is not Europe but African leaders that exploit and underdevelop African |

Racoon:Nigerians are funny people. I think you should speak for Nigerians alone; leave Asians out of this entitlement mentality. One Indian government official was asked if he thinks that the UK should pay India for colonising them. The man answered: Well, what will they pay us with when our economy is now bigger than theirs? That's the comment from a man whose country wants to move forward to a greater future, while Africans keep crying about the past ![]() |

Reference: Nice one, but they were not fighting to capture Italy, they were fighting to defend their land from being invaded. Same way we defended Lagos initially from the onslaught of the British ships but they remobilized with more firepower to lay Lagos to waste. |

musicwriter:Forget that argument... you wrongly assumed that arabic and Islam were the indigenous language and religion of Qatar and the UAE. No be so it be. Did you know that UK and most of Europe had their indigenous religions before Christianity came. Christianity helped them got civilized..blame our greedy, rapacious, shameless and satanic black African brothers for the state of things in most of Africa. |

Love800:Is it every single country that was colonised in Africa, Asia, America and even Europe (by fellow Europeans like the Roman Empire), which had natural resources? What natural resource is better than the innate intelligence of every human being, which is equal at the fundamental level? Meanwhile, did Oyo empire, Bini kingdom, Sokoto caliphate and other strong African tribes not colonise weaker tribes? |

Arostar2023:Of course, you'll find all excuses not to be free. Otherwise, how is a European culture that share similar traits dominating another European culture the same as dominating you in Africa? French and English are cousins. Germans and English are cousins, etc So, at least there's a relationship. Even if they impose one religion on another, at least it's understandable. They can easily adapt to it because they share similar ice cold philosophy and worldview, unlike our ancestors in tropical Africa. Having said that, Christianity didn't civilize anyone even in Europe, rather it messed with them big time, ultimately leading to what themselves call "the dark ages" which is a time that they lost all knowledge as a result of being made dumb by religion. They actually left Christianity before their eyes opened. You can NEVER create harmony and succeed with alien tools, in the same way that you can't be going to farm and someone came out nowhere from the bush and took all your farm tools and replaced them with a hammer and shovel, then told you to proceed to work with it. Like the farmer, we've been disarmed and are only doing our best with the alternative awkward tools we've been given. Finally, your "greedy, rapacious, shameless and satanic black African brothers" are not a product of African culture, rather they're Christian or Muslim, educated in and by imposed language and education. They represent the disarmed farmer above working with awkward tools. That's why they're that way. |

Variables:No, the British should want to enter Nigeria without visas, and we kick them away saying we don't want them. Meaning, we should have grown our economy, reduce the rate population is increasing, and become a nuclear power nation too. And above all, keep tje rest of West Africa growing too. |

CaseSensitive:. Oga you lie! Big lies from the pit of hell!, neo-colonialism is a fabricated narrative by African leaders and elites to make ignorant Africans believe that the reason for their underdevelopment is the white man. While they continue to loot the destiny and resources of this continent through a deeply rooted system of corruption. Over 65 years, Nigeria does not have a single working refinery apart from dangote, after voting billions of dollars into revamping of refineries. So how do I tell my child that it's the white man's doing? Neo-colonialism or corruption is the reason we couldn't develop our country for over 65 years? Education liberates the mind, but yours isn't liberated yet. You blame others for your failures and crimes! |

Racoon:They also exploited countries like Saudi Arabia,UAE, India even China. But today these countries are almost better than the west economically. We can't keep blaming colonialism forever. the truth is, something is wrong with Africa somewhere. A full entire continent and nothing to write home about. |

amazingspiderma:I have been saying this forever. Colonialism did us dirty no doubt, but we can't keep blaming it forever. Look at Saudi Arabia UAE etc. alot of African countries got their independence before them. But today they are standing head to head with the West, if not better. While Africa is busy rolling on the ground and blaming colonialism. But in reality we lack good and visionary leaders. All they care about is their Pocket and power. They don't care about development in their various countries, Africa leaders are too relaxed and just don't care naturally. That's why there is no development competition in Africa, we only compete about jollof rice, amapiano,Afro beats. While UAE and Saudi are competing on infrastructure. Something is seriously wrong with our continent... Not just our leaders, it's like a general African mentality. An average black man only cares about his personal interest and his family. And it's that same average black man that ends up as presidents. |
