Electoral law and system. That is the most important thing. Votes must count. If electoral law and process is structured to reflect the wishes of the people, if the people now like, they should go and still cast their votes for the people with structure that will give them garri and rice and urgent 10k. When politicians know they cannot circumvent the electoral process and the voices of the people will be heard. There will be massive improvement in what is delivered to the people. |

All National Assembly members will not be paid salaries again. Instead, allowances will be given to them anytime they are called upon to have a meeting - deliberate on issues. If they meet for 2 days, something is paid to them. Thereafter, they would go home until when they are to meet on another issue again. It could be 3 months later. During this period of no meeting, no salaries is paid. This is better than the humongous bills they are incurring. Free cars, free houses, free everything. Yet lecturers cannot even get a loan to buy a car. |

It is easier to make changes in a country, especially like Nigeria that has visible aspect to be changed, but the major barrier is enforcement… Unfortunately, the only enforcement that holds ground are those that doesn’t favor the masses , but the individual making the change.. |

CommentatorPro:I will start regional government without announcing it. Just give the states enough power to handle there issues with whatever money they generate and the banks will monitor there inflow and remit the equivalent tax to the central. State policing immediately paid from the state pocket... Any state who cannot handle can borrow from the central with collateral. The center can step in and harvest there resources to repay there loans. Abuja should be the the IMF, the world bank and the UN to the states. |

I will partner with China on technology transfer to Nigeria by setting up electricity production in each of the 36 states. Each state will have their power plant to cover the power needs of the state. The revenue from electricity sales will, in the long term, cover the overall cost / loans for these power plants. Then I will initiate an employment scheme were Chinese small / medium scale factory are encouraged to set up production in Nigeria, by providing incentives and tax free regimes. The essence is to get my people working and learning new skill, and acquiring production knowledge. It’s only on these two points will R&D thrive in Nigeria. Right now, no power, no factories, no employment |

Create a political academy where every politician who wants to seek a public office will attend and graduate , there their characters will be shaped to be selfless , to serve the Nigeria people and never to be involved in corruption and once found guilty will be faced with death sentence. Shut down every ministry to declare a state of emergency on the power sector, solving that issue once and for all. Every other thing including education, security, economy and productivity etc all revolve around and are powered by that singular sector.. |

Softmirror:I have never been against anyone having a separate country neither have I been in support, I only pointed out the fault in your choice. Now let me get this straight, would you rather prefer someone destroying his own home or someone destroying his home and also destroying yours? The gentle Jack you mentioned is basically stationed in the SE and has not in anyway affected you whike the Fulani I mentioned are gradually encroaching to the SE through Kwara State route. Nigeria is actually a funny country, their sense of judgement always baffles me. This is how hateful we can be in this country, a country that arrested Kanu who only threatened, but same Nigeria would prefer dialoguing with terrorists that actually carry out both threats and killing. This is strange though. |

To be realistic nobody can change anything as president in one week. All those saying they will improve electricity and free education should understand that primary education and secondary education is being controlled by the state and to improve electricity have to do with improving generating capacity and transmission and dealing with subsidy in the power sector. Most youth of today can't run ordinary shop Cos they lack the experience not to talk of governing a complex country like naija with various political, cultural, ethnic, religious and personal biases. Talk is cheap. |

Nigeria can never work without a transparent electoral process and under the current system of government in practice. whatever you change outside these will be a complete waste of everybody's time. |
