Nwaikpe:Yeah, a trade union cannot bully an investor to their bidding. Investor will do without them. |

NOETHNICITY:PENGASSAN made their mark during the days of military dictatorship. They should behave themselves now or they would be overtaken by events |

Emekaonline:Even though, I do not like Dangote. It is clear that these trade Unions are only seeking selfish gains in the name of union dues. They are obviously never after the well being of Nigerians. The last time, the same PENGASSAN head told us the Port Harcourt REFINERY was working, only to later deny saying such. I also learnt that NUPENG demanded N50,000 as dues on each Dangote truck that lifts fuel. Isn't that crazy? At this point, Nigerians have no option than to go Dangote way... |

tollyboy5:Oh, dear, they can. In fact, theya re supposed to. You don't know what a trade union is. Nigeria has deprived you of understanding the true powers of a united people. ![]() |

Sentiments asides. I know what the whole issue would cost the common man but then again, the VP could have been more diplomatic with his yearnings. Unions are important to checkmate a lot. |

i think "No Nigerian is greater than the the other Nnigerian" would have worked better |

Nwaikpe:Yeah United sacked workers has been reemployed to do their union in other factory. They're not needed in the refinery, you don't worry. The Indians that would replace them understand the assignment ![]() |

| Re: Dangote: Nigeria Greater Than PENGASSAN – FG by Fiscus105(m): 2:29pm On Oct 06, 2025 |
Nwaikpe:Go and read about madam Margret Thatcher , I'm very sure you have known heard about her before. Back to story, how can a single trade union held entire country to a ransom, because if dispute you are resolving between just 800 workers, against nation of over 200 million, it's unheard. Govt should whittle them down before they bring country to his knees. |

indigenous234:You that is looking at the statement from ethic/religious angle are no different from the speaker. It may interest you to know that supporters of dangote refinery cuts across different ethnic/religious divide, those who haven't even seen face to face. Let the unions go and build their own refinery, dangote refinery must be protected, BUA is coming up with his own, even the oil producing states ought to have built their own refinery by now if not for bad leadership. So please rest, if you have nothing inspiring to say on the matter. |

lexxwiz:They are saying this deliberately, so that they can hear it loud and clear, .....it labour now go beyond their boundary, most especially NLC, he is indirectly fighting govt in support of Peter Obi in which two of them happen to be from South East. |
| Re: Dangote: Nigeria Greater Than PENGASSAN – FG by Nwaikpe: 2:36pm On Oct 06, 2025 |
Fiscus105:Go and read about Evans the Keednaper. I'm sure you have not known about him before. Back to the story, I wish you learn about trade unions in advanced societies like the Trucking Association of Europe and America, the Mining workers Union of South Africa, etc. Then you would understand that PENGASSAN is not even doing half of what they should do. |
| Re: Dangote: Nigeria Greater Than PENGASSAN – FG by lexxwiz(m): 2:36pm On Oct 06, 2025 |
tollyboy5:Sadly, yes!! But we can’t do without them, else all these international coys go use our eyes see shege. You won’t like the influx of Philippinos, Indians, Nepali’s to your mainstream. We need unions checkmating unions. |

Dangote cannot invest his money anywhere outside Nigeria and be as successful as he is in Nigeria because no society will take from him what he has been dishing out to Nigerians. No society will permit you to employ a diploma-holding Indian in Nigeria and pay him higher than a master's degree-holding Nigerian and be proud of it because "at least, you are paying more than another company." If you want to do business, play by the books.
Ogas incase you don't know. He has invested in other African countries and even in the USA and he is successful with them. Also, know that employment is also based on the employee's value, character and productivity not just his paper qualifications. If you like have a PHD, if all you can offer is aluta and plans to destroy investment that your PHD ideas cannot even conceive let alone execute, then you are you better than an Indian with a diploma that's productive? |

it's amazing how nigerians are speaking in his favour. we are our own enemies. the man is breaking regulations and getting away with it. he will quietly sack those redeployed 800 workers. Nwaikpe: |

Berankis:The bolded is very true I watched Festus Osifo and co on TV defending it tooth and nail that the union had monitoring team or so that ensured it worked. That where I lost respect for him because it doesn't seem that it's going work. I didn't know they later denied ooo. |
| Re: Dangote: Nigeria Greater Than PENGASSAN – FG by Berankis: 3:01pm On Oct 06, 2025 |
freeman67:That same Festus Osifo later denied he said it was working. He said he only claimed it was working partially and not fully ![]() |

Nwaikpe:Who are they to be placated ? Who exactly ? Those mafia like trade Unions ? Abeggy . Carefully look at the number of their members and whose interests they push ? How many people are in the civil service and those trades they represent ? They cannot be up to 3 million . Yet they hold the rest of us to ransom based on their selfish interests . They go on strikes and cause hardship for everybody . Power outages , increased fuel prices , fuel scarcity etc . Haba their own is too much |

freeman67:I will assume you want to learn, so my response is: You obviously don't know what a PhD means; that is why you used it in that statement. Not only a PhD, but other lower degrees as well. A certificate is not a prize. There is a reason why it is called a CERTIFICATE. It is a certification of the degree of intellectual value the person has developed over the course of study. Meaning that you are not just paying a person because of what the person can do, but because of who the person is. That is why in saner societies, a doctor cannot be employed as a cleaner because there is no job, and neither can an engineer be employed as a technician because he has no job. Once he presents his certificate, it is mandatory by government regulations to be paid in line with his VALUE. His productivity only accounts for his sustenance and growth. Go to school; you will learn more. Back to Dangote: for him to have employed them, it meant that he saw that they are qualified for the job, and it is improper for him to consider them less. The law should have protected them. And if the law fails, the trade union is meant to. That is what the trade union is doing right now. Ask questions on what a PhD is. A PhD is not to make money, sir. Again, I advise, you need to go and complete your secondary school and then write JAMB so that you can have access to higher education and know better. Moreover, Dangote himself said that ALL his investment is in Africa. But you sabi himself pass am. |

parags:The funny part is how Nigerians like complaining and supporting anything bad when it doesn't affect them directly. When doctors strike, you complain bitterly to the government to listen to them. ![]() When ASUU, PENGASSAN, etc., strike, you feel like they don't have a direct impact on you, so you accuse them of sabotage. ![]() |

Nwaikpe:Like they were placated and they told us NNPC PH refinery is working very well under their korokoro eyes |
| Re: Dangote: Nigeria Greater Than PENGASSAN – FG by CaptainFM1: 3:14pm On Oct 06, 2025 |
Nwaikpe:Why were the Union against the sale of the four refineries? Why did the Union lied to Nigerians that the refinery was producing fuel just few months back? If NNPC staff salaries and emoluments were tied to Local production and the profits thereoff, do you think any workers there would get any salary, let alone be able to pay Union dues? Since the removal of subsidy, the marketers have been hemorrhaging seriously. Their tank farms are rusting away and they are losing out of business because a superior business model came and expose all their corrupt practices. To make their lives even more miserable, Dangote is opting for last mile delivery down to the filling stations, effectively removing all the middlemen. This is the crux of the matter. The subsidy cabals and marketers are fighting back through the unions. Dangote is no longer against them joining unions. But the workers must also know that an employer also has the right to move / transfer workers along his businesses, departments or subsidiaries in the interest of the business. |

RealLordZeus:Do you know the meaning of "placate"? Type "G O O G L E" in your browser's search bar, then press send. What comes up will be another search bar with the Google logo on it. In that search bar, type "placate," and then you will see the meaning of placate. I just taught you how to use the internet to learn. |
