⚡Angela Merkel says Poland and the Baltic states are responsible for the war in Ukraine.

Their refusal to support the Minsk agreements led to the severance of diplomatic ties between Russia and the EU, and then to a full-scale war

Merkel says she wanted a new format to speak directly with Putin as the European Union, but 'the Baltic states and Poland were against it'.

⚡New French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu resigns just a day after Macron appointed a new cabinet of ministers.

Lecornu's tenure, lasting less than a month, was the shortest in the history of France's Fifth Republic

This comes amid a prolonged political crisis, with France seeing its fifth prime minister in two years amid mass protests over economic and social policies.

A prominent Hezbollah operative in the terror group's air defense array was killed in a drone strike in southern Lebanon earlier today, the military says.

Hassan Atwi was killed alongside his wife in a strike targeting their car in Zebdine, on the outskirts of Nabatieh.

The IDF says Atwi was a "significant source of knowledge" in Hezbollah, and led efforts to rebuild infrastructure and procure equipment for the air defense array. The military says he also maintained contacts with Iranian officials who supplied Hezbollah with air defense systems.

According to Lebanese media, Atwi was blind due to Israel's so-called pager attack that targeted Hezbollah members last year.

The IDF says Atwi's activities "constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon," and his killing was a blow to Hezbollah's efforts to re-establish itself.

The two Iranian satellites “Kowsar” and “Hodhod,” which Tehran had hailed as symbols of “national pride” in numerous publications, have lost contact with their control center.
According to Hussein Shahrabi, the project manager, communication with both satellites was severed after an “unknown command”—originating from outside the system—caused the disruption.

⚡Zelensky:

Our production potential for drones and missiles next year will already be $35 billion.

We are already producing 40 Bohdan howitzers per month… and 2.4 million mortar and artillery munitions last year.

We have successfully used Neptunes… soon we will regularly use our own ballistic missiles.

Already, more than 40% of the weapons used on the front are Ukrainian. By the end of the year, no less than 50% must be our own weapons.

The time has come to launch the export of our Ukrainian weapons.

Without Russia's Oil and Gas the companies in Germany are not competitive anymore. European economy crashed without Russia's Oil & Gas - Prof Glen Diesen
Re: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by Michaeltreasure(m): 2:09pm On Oct 06, 2025
Appleyard:
The US pulled a dirty but solidly clever economic sabotage on the EU, a major competitor, and the painful part is that, it got the EU to do it.

In just the first year of the war in Ukraine the lights started to go out across Europe as the consequences of cutting off Russian trade and gas began to kick in. The end of cheap Russian energy imports was disastrous, causing an energy crisis but that quickly spilled over into Europe’s economy as the biggest chemical and metallurgical plants ceased to be economically viable and were shuttered. “De-industrialisation” has become the buzzword today. While Europe's loss of economic competitive edge did not begin with the Russian invasion (the problem has been long and well entrenched,) the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions aftermath puts the nails on the coffin.

Two years ago, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen tasked former Italian Prime Minister and ex-European Central Bank boss Mario Draghi to compile a report on Europe’s competitiveness, which was released September, 2024.

Its conclusions was a bombshell.

Long story short.

Germany, which has been Europe's economic engine room, is now the weakest economy in the G7.

European productivity, which was previously 95% of the US, has seen decline. Today, is less than 80% and keeps falling.

The US and China are now the preferred markets for global financing on tech frontiers that drives future growth; Europe gets only the crumbs.

The downhill spiral list is almost endless. And I don't have all day to kill.

But the reality for Europe, and to an extent, for the US, gets even more pathetic when you realize that, the attempt to 'punish' Russia, out of a myopic and emotionally laden geopolitical view, has not only boomerang on themselves, but has further empowers rival and emerging competitors.

China, whose economy is already growing like a weed on steroid, is now the world's most powerful manufacturing country. Here is a tip.

China's shipbuilding capacity alone is 232 times greater than the US.

The gap between it and Europe has now increased to more than 150 times; thanks to cheap energy that has further boosted that massive capacity. Japan, South Korea complete the list for Asian Pacific markets dominating the shipbuilding sector, leaving Europe and the US trailing miles behind.

If you're a keen geopolitical observer, you will understand how significant and strategic this advantage is. This capacity advantage was what the US brought into WW 2. The ability to mass manufacture ships faster than nazi U-boats could destroy them. Today, the pendulum have swung

China now has that capacity.

We all know what that means in a war time.

To sum up the disaster for Europe, Russia whom they seek to punish is now the manufacturer powerhouse in Europe, beating even Germany. Investment is now pouring into all these facilities as both Russian and China prepare for a possible global war.

No doubt, the sanctions have cost Russia a lot of money, and probably cause it to see long-term stagnation, but it is currently flourishing and one of the fastest growing major economies in the world. Things are going so well that a new war middle class has emerged in Russia who are enjoying a period of unprecedented prosperity.

As for Europe, the reverse is the case.

There is no substitute for 'cheap' in the global world of energy and manufacturing.

But European stupidity did not take this to heart.
Brotherly, the only winner from the West in this whole debacle is the US, Europe is on the losing side. They're on a self punishing ride, just like someone putting his hands in flames threatening to pour in someone. He gets his hands burnt, while the other mocks him from afar. Meanwhile, his neighbor the, US, cheers him up while smartly avoiding putting his own hands in that same fire.

America deceived Europe!

The US, till today, still trades with Russia. Trump's anger with India is that Modi is doing what the US wanted to do: buy cheap energy from Russia from the back and sell at higher prices to Europe and other buyers.

It's a game of interest here: no body is truly an ally with anyone here, as long as one's interest is protected. Europe sold herself out too foolishly. No wonder Trump does not respect them. They're too cheap to him.

Thanks Appleyard. A beautiful submission without any insult or one sidedness...

Inflation in Finland. Appleyard abi na Akpu-yard, what's your source.
Learn to think for and by yourself, with proper research, not relying too much on AI.

Since the introduction of sanctions against Russia, Finland has recorded two years of consecutive decline in GDP--1.2% in 2023 and 0 2% in 2024.

Last year, Finland was the worst country in the eurozone in terms of growth, besting only neighboring Estonia.

The back to back recessions which is still ongoing is due primarily to the absence of cheap, raw materials that were flowing freely from the multiple Russian borders.

Russia is Finland's fifth largest trading partner.

When you severe ties with such an important trading partner with no clear alternative in place, a downhill spiral is always the outcome.

As at 1st of September 2025, Finland's inflation rate rose to 2.3%, compared to the 2.2% it were the previous month.

Finland unemployment rate is 10.2% and counting, the highest in northern Europe, and is already forecasted to deteriorate further by 2025 year end.

Last month, Finnish Prime Minister, Petteri Orpo, openly confessed that the slump in economic growth was due to the sanctions war with Russia, which has cost the Nordic country billions of dollars in investment.

Don't tell me you know more than the Prime Minister and their own economic data agencies.

Bye.

⚡Venezuelan National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez announced Sunday that his government had warned the United States through "three channels" about an alleged plot by “extremist sectors of the local right” to plant explosives at the U.S. embassy in Caracas as part of a “false flag operation.”

RodrĂguez added that Venezuela also alerted a European embassy to convey the warning to U.S. diplomats and that security measures around the U.S. mission had been reinforced.

The U.S. Embassy in Caracas has been suspended since March 11, 2019.

Gaza Flotilla

171 additional provocateurs from the Hamas–Sumud flotilla, including Greta Thunberg, were DEPORTED today
from ISRAEL to Greece and Slovakia.

The deportees are citizens of Greece, Italy, France, Ireland, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Denmark, Slovakia, Switzerland, Norway, the UK, Serbia, and the United States.

All the legal rights of the participants in this PR stunt were and will continue to be fully upheld.

The lies they are spreading are part of their pre-planned fake news campaign.

The only violent incident came from a Hamas–Sumud provocateur who bit
a female medical staff member of Ketsiyot Prison.

Don’t believe the fake news they are spreading.

PROMAX INSANITY!

Oct 7 was the single deadliest day in the history of the conflict.

The Japanese don’t mark Pearl Harbor as a holiday.
The Germans don’t celebrate the day they invaded Poland.

Only the Palestinians turn a day of mass murder, abduction & self-destruction into a day of honor.

Because after WW2 the US proceeded to say it will destroy the states of Germany and Japan and expel their native populations.

I don't think they even care about the validity of their positions.
All they care about is that they have to say something or have a response to incisive questions, and those are the best answers they can come up with.

⚡German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that the drones spotted over Germany belong to Russia

According to Merz, Europe’s airspace is being violated “more frequently than during the Cold War.”

“We assume that Russia is behind most of these drone flights. So far, there have been no incidents involving armed drones — only espionage attempts and efforts to cause public anxiety,” the German leader said.

Earlier in October, Munich Airport suspended operations twice after unidentified drones were detected nearby. Similar incidents were reported in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov denied the accusations, saying Russia “does not launch drones over Europe.” He called the appearance of unidentified UAVs over Germany, Denmark, Norway, Poland, and other countries “indeed rather strange,” but insisted there was “no reason to blame Russia.”

Lol, I am never going to agree with the it was worse than the Nigerian security forces MO. I have only seen those things as trending on twitter, I haven't watched any of the videos. Anyways, to the below.....

I don't know why people tend to see the US as a kind of demi god that does no wrong. Maybe it is justify their own obviously worse standard or something else, I wouldn't know.
The mere fact that the concept of justice, fairness, equity, as we know it today originated from democratic America does not mean no wrong can be done in USA.

Justice, equity and fairness is a concept that human beings forever chase and will always continue to chase.

But one thing is clear: When these things occur in the US and the west, majority of people whose rights are trampled upon in most cases get justice (anyhow you define it). This can rarely be said of other jurisdictions. Not too long, police were still killing people for #20 on our roads.

At least, we all saw what happened to Derek Chauvin for kneeling down on George Floyd and causing his death. Chauvin is still in prison. It's very clear that he never intended to cause George's death.

So, if we can condemn US for the current ICE MO, why don't we also take a leaf from how Derek Chauvin's case was handled. But the only thing that is rampant in our own societies are the kind of ICE MO, we never or rarely see the likes of Derek Chauvin.

If we are looking up to western standards, common sense dictates that we shouldn't follow hook, line and sinker.

It's Gbadebo reporting.....
