Greatswimmer:It is difficult for me to diagnose from a distance and give medical advice so i think the best is thing is to ask your doctor to refer you to a urologist since he does not seem to have found a solution. Depending on your age, lifestyle and other factors conditions like BPH, Diabetes, Urinary Tract Infection, Cystitis have to be ruled out. Firstly, the Klebsiella that was isolated, was it accompanied with high leucocyte count in the urine? If the leucocyte count is low, then the Klebsiella might be a red herring and is not responsible for your symptoms. Also, did they carry out sensitivity study on the Klebsiella to identify the best antibiotic to use to treat it? Secondly, did you carry out an ultrasound of your kidney, ureters, bladder (KUB) and prostate as well as a post-void residual volume to rule out BPH? If you are in your 30's or older, this might be the cause of your symptoms. If your doctor can't solve it, ask him to refer you to a urologist, rather than mixing and matching. Alos don't just try another regular doctor. Ask to be referred to a urologist. It could even be cheaper in the long run and will usually be more helpful. |

popizaino:The Trade fair market guys are claiming the trade fair belongs to federal government and they are only obliged to obtain approval from the trade fair management board under FG which they duly did. Lagos state government on the other hand claimed they were supposed to still get approval from the state ministry of planning and urban development since the development is happening within Lagos state . It just seem like both parties are interpreting the law to justify their actions and inactions. I am not an authority on land matters and who should approve what when it comes to federal government property development in a particular state ; but from.what I've read online I think the management of the trade fair market & owners of the buildings should institute an action against the state government. If not for anything, let the court judgement clear the Grey area on who has a right to approve what in matters involving real estate development involving federal government lands in Lagos state. The judgement can then serve as a precedent in matters like this going forward. That being said, the decision of the state government to pull down the building without first sealing off the building and calling the trade fair management for diplomatic solution to the approval imbrogilo seems wicked and unjustifiable Sha. @ afrodoc2 Where I work it is mandatory for all staff to be subjected to annual medical examination. Last year's result came back normal aside from the lipids profile diagnosing "Dyslipidemia". I didn't know what that meant until that moment, so I had to Google it. In reaction to my Google findings, I decided to cut down on red meat (not like I'm a big fan before, but me regularly indulging in Suya, Asun, beef shawarma, double beef patty in my burger and asun jollof rice/spaghetti didn't make me doubt the result Sha). I had to also cut down on alcohol and would take water instead of carbonated drinks(I only use it to mix whiskey by the way) or alcohol. So fast forward to this year's medical examination, the result came out not saying anything about Dyslipidemia NB : I must say that last year's medical examination was carried out by a diagnostic center contracted by my organization while this year's was carried out by a reputable hospital in Lagos. I have attached this year's test result for your perusal . Do you think my lifestyle changes had an impact on this year's result? Do you think this year's result is fair considering where I'm coming from? What do you advise I do going forward to stay healthier?

Olowunl01:I was in trade fair some months back to buy some items. I was with my kids so I did not do what I would normally have done, park my car and take an okada. I spent hours trapped in single lane roads because everyone had encroached reducing two lane roads to single roads If you talk one on one to any businessman he will tell you - just expand the warehouse - you will sha make your money before govt comes for you. In my close I heard a landlord make this exact comment regarding someone's free space in his compound by the road. Just quickly build make your money If you reside in a state, you are subject to federal, state and local laws. If a building collapses in a so called federal estate killing people does it mean the fg will come in to resolve the matter? If a truck breaks down on a federal road do we wait for fg to deploy truck to move the vehicle And I will say this - LASG as a matter of policy will NEVER demolish without three prior notices. The last notice will be a demolition notice. I have experienced this multiple times on different sites. As I write this I have been called by former colleagues to ask for old approval drawings because lasg is knocking on thier door. I made a habit of archiving every last thing so I have them. On one site they could not find the drawing or maybe someone had tried to be smart at the time, so we had to pay 5m. Most corporate entities know how it goes. Gaming the system has its limits and it comes back to bite you when there is a change of leadership in lassppa. We also experienced this. 2002,upgrades without approvals. 2013,new upgrade and we had to pay fines. You cannot regularise a contravention. If regulation says there must be a setback to the road and you build on the setback - how do you regularise that? |

Tochex101: ![]() E no good oh, but I really have no choice than to move. So, going to Abuja this time was for personal reasons, and to attend a wedding. But ideally, I travel because I buy what I sell from other states; mostly Edo and some SE states. So, I have to be there personally to select and inspect it, before I pay and waybill it. If not, what you see is not what you'll get. |

The only issue I have with demolitions is that the government makes it look like the victim is all at fault. Someone was signing off these papers. Why can't we also see those who are aiding these illegal structures in the government? As for Trade fair, we all know they got a lease from the FG in the 90s, and I think it's for 99 years. That lease is just for the markets. If the FG started selling off all the lands there to build warehouses, then Nigeria has a problem. Even the International Trade Fair Complex that we usually visit as a kid then, warehouses don dey full am. Well, I still believe that some persons in the government (FG or LASG) are always into these kind of frauds. |

GloriousGbola: Many times, these trips are inevitable. If you don't pay attention, you'll be left hanging. I just wish Nigeria can be safe, so people can move freely without fear. In 2025, and we are still praying that as we travel, we should not be kidnapped or robbed. I don't think people traveling in Ghana make such prayers |

izzou:Think if state and federal police in the US Sometimes in a state you have the police in your pocket and you are running your racket. Then you overdo and doj enters. FBI, ATF and all those other alphabet agency. Their wahala is on a higher level. If you are doing construction it is the LGA that has direct oversight. And you can easily settle the LGA workers. Then state decides to put spotlight on location and all your dodging paperwork comes back to you. Smart enough to bypass the rules but not wise enough to know why the rules are in place I saw videos of some homes in that lekki axis being demolished They actually built their houses on an open river bank. Lagos is now actively trying to curb flooding and anything that can obstruct flow or water or drainage is part of the problem And all the people doing construction know this. |

GloriousGbola:After reading from officials of Lagos state government justifying the demolition and the people criticizing the demolition, I still can't boldly say the Lagos state government's action is justified. Personally, I think the government should be taking a position to highlight whether they have jurisdiction to take down properties situated on a land under the control of Federal government. (I've not seen anywhere they've done that yet). As much as I like Tokunbo Wahab, I think he's losing focus of his job as a technocrat and he's letting the political aspect of his job get the better of him. For example, the response he gave to the Anambra senator in the screenshot below is childish and unnecessary. He didn't state the particular law they relied on to pull down the buildings despite the building having approval from a federal government's agency in charge of the premises. Instead, he focused on the origin of the person he's responding to rather than the substance of the person's criticism. If u ask me, Umeh's points were very valid and requires answers that are backed with convincing reasonable points and not just rebuttal about whether Soludo or Otti pulling down structures in their own states so LASG actions are justifiable. If Umeh is saying Trade Fair is managed by FG through Trade Fair Management board and not under Lagos state government's control, one expects Wahab to come up with a superior argument. The fact that Umeh is even a fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers makes his point looks strong. Wahab messed up with his response.

BlueRayDick:Most people in construction have had run ins with lasbca and know the law. In fact you will be suprised to know the average taxi driver knows as well. We were building in orile and we had serious space issues. My supervisor kept pushing the contractor to expand here and there. And the contractor was resisting because he had been fined by lasbca previously He wanted to expand our fence and got into an argument with people running a taxi park beside us. Na so the driver told him not to encroach and the guy mouth close We still ran into wahala with lasbca over that site one to two years later as we had items within the setback/row. When you see some of these takes you will be irritated because it is simply people who have gamed the system and now the game is up. But rather than take the L they say persecution |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:44am On Oct 07, 2025 |
GloriousGbola:Baba, this is now a matter of national discourse. Everyone is interested in what the laws, not just people in construction. The reasonable thing to do is to law the points bare so every member of the general public that has no dog in the race can see clearly who is the wrong and who is right. It's when people in government are not transparent with their actions they give room for speculations suggesting targeting demolitions and victimization. |

BlueRayDick:Lagos state has detailed regional planning laws that are available online. They are a Google search away. You work in Corp so you know ignorance of the law is no excuse. These guys know all this which is why they are trying to hide behind fg It is the same way people are complaining about paying for bags at supermarkets and meanwhile lasg had announced this as far back as January 1.when I see people going off on supermarket attendants I tell them this has been in effect since January |

BlueRayDick:I frequent only three threads on this platform and I'm thinking of reducing it to one. I was surprised when I saw the number of threads he starts his daily routine with. This thread for example, sometimes when you come here you meet countless new pages, and you try to read everything, before you know it you have spent an hour or more. Imagine being in that situation in 10 threads. It'll surely affect your productivity. That's the reason I stopped using tiktok. I was getting too invested in it, and it even made me lose money on a signal I didn't close on time because I was on tiktok instead of watching the signal to take profit. I deleted it asap. |

BlueRayDick:This result does not look bad; however, the whole picture and your cardiovascular risk is better assessed when the result is computed with your age, your BP, your diabetic status, your smoking history, your family history, your kidney function level. Generally speaking, the most important figures in that result are the Total Cholesterol (4.5) and the HDL (1.3). You want the total cholesterol as low as possible (below 5 or if you have a family history below 4) and you want the HDL to be above 1. Check the results from last year for these 2 values and compare to this year's result and that will tell you how well you have done. You have already made most of the changes needed. Cutting down on unhealthy fats from fried foods, using healthy oils to cook rather saturated and trans fats, fatty red meat, fast foods like burgers. Cutting down on alcohol, not smoking. Eating adequate fibre, legumes, nuts, avocadoes, salmon, vegetables. Exercising regularly. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:14am On Oct 07, 2025 |
GloriousGbola:You are not getting it. The Trade fair guys are saying they are not in the wrong because their buildings were duly approved by the trade fair management board (an agency of the federal government of Nigeria) So the Lagos state government's demolition exercise amounts to trespassing and totally illegal. Lagos state government claimed they relied on the state government's town planning laws to carry out the demolitions because they (trade fair guys) didn't get state government approvals. That is the bone of contention in this case. The state government should be out there showing us convincing argument superior to that of the trade fair guys. It shouldn't be a case of refereing us to a law the trade fair guys already pointed out as not binding on them. The Umeh guy is a fellow of the superior body responsible for regulating surveys and estate valuing. I want to believe he would take exams bordering on estate/land laws before becoming an associate of the institute, talk more of becoming a fellow..... Such person's opinion definitely carries weight in this matter. The state government would do well to address the substance of Umeh's posituion instead of making the whole thing look like politics. |

GloriousGbola:The traders domiciled in the complex claim that they obtained their approvals and building permits from the Federal Government through the Trade Fair Management Board but the state Government posits that everywhere expansion or construction work done in the state requires a run through state agencies and staff. The bane of contention is does the state have the power to intervene in a federal preserve. Let's think of it as maybe a Federal Park or Game reserve such as Yankari National Park. Would it be right for Bauchi State Government to intervene in construction works there? Even if those works err from the master plan, isn't it logical that dutiful correction lies in the hands of the National Government? What we are seeing is as a result of weak institutions. |

TemporaryHansel:I did not say one should not eat red meat but to eat in moderation. I have seen the mountains of meat some people eat in the name of enjoyment and after a while you can't find their neck. Red meat is nutritious and a great source of protein, iron, Vit B, zinc but should still be taken in moderation in order to maximise the pros and minimise the cons. When you start takings heaps of it, especially the fatty bits, the cons will pile up. Those that feel insulted if every meal of theirs does not include 2 -4 big and fat pieces of meat, each as big as a dumbbell, those are the ones i am talking about. |
