Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has broken his silence following a chaotic scene at Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday. The artist is now calling on authorities to ban prank videos across Nigeria, describing them as a growing public threat. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Earlier clips that surfaced online showed the Zazu crooner in beige attire appearing agitated as he tried to confront an unidentified man while security officers and bystanders struggled to restrain him. The scene quickly turned disorderly, with shouting, shoving, and at least one person brandishing a belt as the tension escalated.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Monday, Portable claimed the confrontation was not random but the result of a staged “death prank” — a dangerous setup by individuals seeking viral fame at the expense of safety.

He said, partly in Yoruba: “Those people came to prank me. They were death pranksters. It almost turned to cultist level. Ten yellow no fit stand one blue.”

The singer expressed frustration over the rise of extreme prank culture, warning that such acts could easily lead to violence or serious injury. He urged the government to enforce strict laws against pranksters who cross ethical and safety lines in pursuit of social media content.

Portable’s outburst has sparked mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians supporting his call for regulation, while others argue that celebrities must learn to handle unexpected public encounters calmly.

As the incident continues to trend, questions remain about how far content creators are willing to go for virality — and whether legal intervention may soon follow.

someone told me how he was pranked i saw the video he said it was traumatizing as he was scared for his life.

in the process of trying to defend himself he was injured the video is out there i asked if he was compensated he said no,

there should be level to everything, many are too extreme and do not put the victim into consideration.
