Brendaniel:
Abia and Anambra demolished to build roads, is Lagos state building any road there?
Did you get the approval of Lagos State government to build on the Lagos land?

If you didn't, your building will be demolished and the government will be backed by court order and the law.

Brendaniel:
How did you know the court ordered the demolition?
Lagos State government will not just demolish property without court order, if they do that then they are liable to pay compensation and damages.

If you think they don't have a court order, challenge them in court.

Brendaniel:
So you are making a claim on behalf of the government you have no proof of?
I don't speak for Lagos State government, channel your questions on that court order to the spokes person of the Lagos State government.

Are you speaking for the property developers who are the casualties of the demolition?

Or are you just unnecessarily pained about it.

Why are they not in court to challenge the government, if they have approval.

Your sentiments have made you blind to reality.

Yes, they don't have approval of the Lagos State government to build those structures.

If they do, they should challenge the Lagos State government in court

Simple.

This is not the first time the Lagos State Government is engaging in illegality and behaving like lawless rascals.
So challenge the Lagos State government in court so that the developers too cN get compensated, if an only if, the state government has no such court order to demolish.

Was the demolition legal or not? That is the salient question.

It was legal.

Something can be legal and not justified nor moral, the fact that a governor has the legal power to revoke any C of O does not make it justified if he wrongly does it to someone...

Is it legal?

Yes,

Is it justified?

NO...

Lagos is like New York where all nations congregate to pursue their dreams. However the kind of ethnically homogeneous Lagos that you advocate will lead to its ruins. A president is coming that will give you the narrow Lagos of your choice. Then it will become another Kano, Ibadan or Uyo.

Mynd44:
Senator Umeh is right but also very wrong.

When it comes to federal government estates, and land sold by the FG the FG takes jurisdiction but only on land being developed by the FG.
Example: if the FG is building an army building inside a barracks, it is entirely on the exclusive list and the state has no say but the moment the FG sells the land to a non government party, such person(s) must get approvals from the state to build even after getting FG approvals.

This was the hubris of the builders who assumed that they had no business with the state even when the state asked that they come and apply for permits and get approval
Is that enough to demolish the structures?
This is just like Police arresting a vehicle without Insurance Papers, Proof of Ownership etc and they decide to destroy the car or burn it.
You can confiscate the car, prosecute the driver and still release the car after serving his punishment.

Legality superceeds your morality or justification.

How has the government of Lagos State wrongly demolished those properties?

You don't also know that legality is a major justification.

😂😂😂cry me a river…..your tears no fit full basket. You clowns remember one Nigeria when it’s concerns Lagos after making your caveland uninhabitable for living with your self inflicted woes……when you force other Nigerians living in alaibo to sit at home every Monday, was the Nigeria constitution not also suspended then that grant every Nigerian the freedom to live and move freely anywhere? But when it concerns Lagos you clowns suddenly remember one Nigeria and the constitution😂😂😂btw is Lagos no more a no man’s land again? More building’s will still be demolished and there is nothing you noise makers can do about it than to come on SM to cry, if he pain you too much, you take your investment back home, you won’t be missed😂😂😂
It is easier to destroy especially from those who dont know the pain of building and how money is made. They dwell in envy and jealousy, rather than build, they destroy what others built.ThankGod for my cultural orientation as an igbo man,no time for unnecessary envy when the world is big enough for me to go and succeed while some others will prefer to blow away their inheritance on the stage of owambe and later come crying that they are buying up our land, that's defeatist in nature.Capitalism is survival of the fittest and not always hoping on the government to give you a life through the back door.
Anyway, some people have been programmed to remain insecured in their mentality and it's working out for the corrupt politicians using them

When a judge grants and order, it becomes legitimate whether you agree or otherwise.

You can appeal to a superior Court but once a court order is pronounced by Supreme Court, you can only appeal to God in heaven.

On earth, that position is law, irrespective of how you feel about it. If you like, cry is a river, it wouldn't matter.

Thank you so much. We hope that it can start with you.

Stop investing in Lagos, invest in your state or Abuja or elsewhere.

Must it be Lagos.

Why didn't the state government just seal the buildings and ask all owners to go and get approvals from the state before opening the buildings?

so the best solution is to start destroying people's sweat? look at what you people are trying to defend, is the government designed to guide the people or to fight them?

Doesn't this look like vendetta?

I mean they said the people did not get approvals, why not seal the buildings and tell the people to get approvals, you people just like defending evil...
It is in the interest of those that build to do the needful. Moreso, do you know how those behave in that place no government official can seal that place without deploying strong enforcement teams which are always busy and at huge cost. So the government can only schedule when to act.

So are you saying deployment of security is more costly than demolition which will still have to carry security operatives along?
