saintopus:What made food prices to go high in the first place? Chiefly, Insecurity. The farmers are killed, raped and chased away from their farms. What concrete measures are in place to turn the tide for food prices to crash consequently? Your guess is as good as mine - nothing. This is not a wishful thinking. The efforts must be intentional, deliberate and forthright. Let's not be playing with stats like toys at children's disposal. As a Benue indigene, with crude tools like most of our families use, my mother's farm alone could average 3 to 4 trucks (911) of yams every farming season. All of that stopped with Fulani herdsmen killings up and down. This is not magic, it is a reality faced. |

Ofunaofu:I agree that single-digit inflation in the near term is unrealistic. The CBN is doing the right things, but that's not enough. |

It takes those who support criminals with evil reputation to support every nonsense this govt dishes out. Anyone who really loves his family and this country, would not support a drug lord and anything near it. Let them keep ruining the economy with lies and shameless economic abracadabra cum mumbo jumbo. The consequences of a wasted 8years in your lives is something no one should play with whether he is from ur tribe or not. |

Patrickker:Spot on. As long as these fundamental issues are not tackled, all the CBN's monetary policy moves can't reduce inflation to a single digit. |

Ofemannnu:Exactly! You can already see from the comments, the unpatriotic elements criticising the government ambition to achieve a single digit inflation. While all these time the same traitors, enemies of the state and unpatriotic nonentities have been criticising the government over double digits inflation. |

Many evil loving guys already on the thread. The positive government says they want to achive single digits, World bank says because of A, B and C we do not think we can achieve it. Since the problem has been identified, the positive FG will go back to the drawing board and work on the different bottlenecks that have been identified. That is how you know those who are ready to work. They set a goal, identify bottlenecks and work to remove it. The lazy people on the other hand just sit in one place and assume it is not possible and wallow in self-pity and hate. |

Patrickker:You are very correct , but even without these issues, we was still importing food massively. Subsistence farming can no longer feed the Nigerian nation. You need more large scale farms |

brain54:Unpatriotic element. You cannot even identify an enemy of the progress of your country when you see one. Does World Bank and IMF wish your country well? Look at yourself falling inside the pit dug for you by WB and IMF. You think if Nigeria economy doesn't improve, is it Tinubu and his family that would suffer or you and me? It's unfortunate that your reasoning couldn't take you beyond this level. |

Tareq1105:To you patriotism is blind follower ship and support... Is this government not a propagandist government known for it's use of lies, false information and cover up? Even irrespective of imf or wb reports. You seem like the unpatriotic fellow here. Patriotism isn't burying your thinking ability in the gutter and accepting everything without questions. Criticism is a form of patriotic action. That's why the Constitution recognizes opposition parties and elements. If you want to lie to yourself and continue wasting your time it's up to you. It's your choice. But don't expect everyone to bury their thinking and follow your same path. You can lie to everyone but you can't lie to yourself. And I stand by everything said. This government is propagandist ( it's not the first time they have been caught and it won't be the last) and a waste of 4 years! |

Ofunaofu:World Bank should please loud it for us! The only way Bulabaa and APC can realise this is if most of Northern Nigeria starve to death. They are already poor as it is, before the infernal taxation drive coming soon, coupled with the insecurity already showing them shege. Who is going to feed their kids wey dem born down like rabbit? |

Ofunaofu:i read some comment from so called Nigerians and feel so sad. Why is it that so.e are happy with bad bad things. World bank do not wish us well and do not expect any good from them, same people spreading propaganda of christain genocide do distract the govt, same people that increase tarrif to 15% to reduce Nigeria export rate, they never expect us to pay up our debt, For the disbelievers, bookmark this, Nigeria will shame you all. |

IDERAWOLE:who caused the inflation to rise in the first place? is it belief that will make people to see the single digit inflation? is it unbelief that is making nigerians to experience tinubu induced inflation? |

Mubiola360:is it world bank not wishing you well that is responsible for the inflation? is it world bank wishing you well that will make the inflation to come down? when you say "they never expect us to pay up our debt", who are the "us"? did the world bank force this "us" to borrow from them? see the reason below for tinubus tax billl and for "removing" fuel subsidy

Tareq1105:how is calling this government a government of lies unpatriotic? is this government not a government of lies? who are the enemy of the progress of his country? which country are you from? if world bank does not mean your country well, why did tinubu remove fuel subsidy and start his tax adventure because he wanted to collect loan from them? are you saying that tinubu does not mean the country well?

It is easy for this failed government. All they will be doing is the fake rebasing and keep bringing lies with statistics to claim inflation is down |
