We are ramping things up. Here are some things we have done recently:

1. We gave Nairaland's theme a little facelift, fixing buttons, pagination, separators, and other little things.

2. We implemented a dark mode for Nairaland with the most intuitive UX: a sun toggle on your upper right.

3. We further relaxed the minimum character rule because many people were still struggling with it.

We are also trying to make our moderation bot (aka antispam bot) more accurate. Bear with us on that.

Oga, Tell your moderators to always verify news before pushing them to frontpage, this should include verifiable links to the original source.

They should also work on their cognitive skills not to fall into traps of some mischievous nairalanders who post news articles to drive a political, religious or tribal motives. MAKE NAIRALAND GREAT AGAIN.

Cool, I'll drop recommendations here soon for the next update and it revolves around the repetitive title, every single comment has the title on it.

and with lots of regular dummy texts, your database would keep filling with garbage which is of no use both to site visitors and SEO

Remove the special protection you give islamic topics and make it open for all to post or you give same protection to Christian topics

Till date I don't know which rule I broke that made my account santity88@yahoo.com not been able to log in. Keep saying password issue.

Security of the website against hackers is very important to safeguard this space and the information archived over the years. Years that are becoming decades.

Do not implement a dislike button. People will simply use it to bully people that they don't like.

My Question is, when will Nairalanders start getting benefits from this platform from engagements like other platforms like Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, etc. I have been registered to this platform since 2015. Yet I can't boast of making 1naira just as the name implies. Please Seun we need an innovation that could be generating lil stipends for active users. Thanks

Allow indefinite blocks. I have a list of at least 20-25 people I have to refresh the blocks every 3 weeks. Or at least give users the option to unblock. There are people on this forum I have no wish to interact with and from the comments from others I am not the only one who feels that way.


If you truly want to solve hostility, insults and make the site a more pleasant place dont Nanny state users by unblocking people they blocked. If I block someone , I blocked them for a reason, I don’t want to see their posts or interact with them.

When I block someone it means I don’t want to interact with the person, because I want to avoid conflicts, when you force that person back into my space after 3 weeks what it says it that Nairaland actually encourages conflicts contrary to what is claims. Perhaps you just pay lip service to satisfy the authorities but the site actually thrives on conflicts?

you could try modifying the market section to be more structured and similar to how Ji Ji is so it's more useful as what we currently got there is but an eye sore
