As a man if you marry from my village there are things you need to be wary of and your wife committing adultery is one (the most important). If your wife commit adultery and you heard about it but did not care to do anything about it. My brother, your stomach would swell up and you would die. Sicknesses would attack your body, you wither and die abruptly without wasts of time. My ancestors (Ibegwu are very active here) kill anyone that is a victim of wife cheating.

We are free from bandit attack. This culture keeps women on their toes and cure simpism in many men in our village.

I think there's a place in Edo where this happens as well. If the husband knows and says nothing, he falls sick and die, then the children will start dying one after the other. But if he talks and appeases the gods, it's the wife that will die instead.
