I not sure the b2 for ausbidung fly's again, here is a screenshot from the page, says it's takes 1year
The screenshot is outdated because they don’t send reference number anymore after submitting application and after preliminary review, you pick your appointment date yourself.

It doesn’t take more than one year for everyone. Those going for PhD or having scholarships or 1st class or B2 in German don’t wait for a year plus

You joined the waitlist March this year? There's still a lot to go. This week probably they'll enter January 2024, they stopped at December 2023 last week.
One just has to exercise lots of patience, good luck. Yes there's a group, however I can't post the link, look like 2 or so pages back someone has shared the link here.

I also have a b2 goethe certificate. I still waited since October 2023. Only PhD students, scholarship students, first class graduates and fellowship participants get a fast track. Having B2 is not listed by the embassy as to what gives priority.

On the new portal? Have you tried it? If you have B2 in German for studies visa, it shows waiting time of 2-8weeks.
I don’t know about Ausbildung oh.

The waiting time is not accurate. It just changes depending on the volume of applications submitted. About 3 months ago it was showing 2-8 weeks for thise going for normal courses that would fall under 'Category B'. Till date, they haven't been able to submit.
It can show 2-8 weeks for 1 year or more, till whenever it's possible to submit.

This is what it shows if you tick that you have B2 in German, have filled your forms and uploaded relevant documents, it shows submit for preliminary review immediately, when you submit it shows that you are waiting for preliminary review, then it takes like 2-8weeks wait time for preliminary review.
Instead joining the waitlist like regular students.
You can try it yourself and see it.

I am on the normal waiting list and it shows one year plus waiting time to just even submit for my application preliminary review.

But those who have B2 in German, full or partial Scholarship, 1st Class, PhD admission and German qualification submit for preliminary review immediately they are done filling the forms and uploading relevant documents, they submit for preliminary review immediately, wait for corrections, do corrections and then book appointment date themselves.

For those with what I have mentioned the button shows- SUBMIT FOR PRELIMINARY REVIEW

For regular students the button shows - JOIN WAITLIST

So it’s different.

Odd that they did not update their website then. Do you know someone with B2 that has then gone through preliminary review with this?

Ausbildung isn't done on the new portal, you register on the old portal under 'vocational training' it was in the screenshot you posted. The waiting time there is still 1 years plus. I've heard from some people that getting a pre-approval (Vorabzustimmung) document can speed up the process exponentially (down to a month or so) but I'm not really sure, you'll have to confirm that yourself and maybe talk to your employer about it.

Good morning everyone,

I would really appreciate your advice on the best way forward regarding my visa application process.

Originally, I was scheduled for an interview in February this year. However, due to some incomplete documents, I requested a reschedule, and the embassy kindly gave me a new appointment date for August 28th, 2025.

My admission journey has not been easy at all — I faced several rejections from different schools, which made the process quite discouraging. Out of concern that I might not secure admission before my scheduled interview, I decided on Monday to request another extension of the interview date.

Surprisingly, the very next day (Tuesday), I received good news: I was offered admission by a school.

Now, I am in a bit of a dilemma. Since I already requested another extension before the admission came through and have not yet received any response (apart from the automated acknowledgment email), should I now send a follow-up email to the embassy informing them that I have secured admission and would like to honor my current appointment on August 28th, 2025?

I don’t want to create confusion in my application process, so I would really appreciate your guidance on the right step to take.
Please, which University did you get the admission?
Also, did they require for a diploma supplement after you submitted your transcript of records?

grin it doesn't mean jack. When I did postdam on Uniassist , the dean of the faculty sef thanked me and acknowledge the documents were compelet yet my background doesnt fit the course applied. so decline.
But In the university of postdam, is it a must that you submit another document (supplement) like Course description that is in connection with your transcript?
Because my school doesn't give any other document after giving out the transcript in details.
Please check the screenshot below.

Has your question been answered yet?
I don’t believe it would affect the old appointment, based on my own very recent experience.

Hello guys have a bit of issue
I booked appointment using the old portal as of June 2024
So when they brought new portal I opened a. Account with the same mail

Hope it wouldn't affect the appointment booked on the old portal
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Akermann(m): 7:00am On Oct 11, 2025
it will take just as long as it has always taken, unless they start moving faster.
They give dates according to when you booked, so still in that order, they’re going to finish with everyone that booked with the old portal before they start with the new portal.
So until they finish with December 2024.
UI1788:
Hi everyone,
Do you know how long it takes to get appointment for student visa after submitting application with documents on the new portal?
Note: I don’t mean using the old email booking system with category A and B.
Has anyone gotten appointment yet with the new system?

Yes after interview I was told to bring a new passport as the name written on my birth certificate
Definitely it happens to one of my friend. He was given 17days to present new international passport because his place of birth was wrongly spelt. He needs to pay times2 before he got the renewal of his passport and meet up with the deadline

Based on your advice, can I go ahead and book now or wait till April? I haven't gotten an admission letter yet. I've just recently started my school application.
If you have an admission letter you can book but it takes 2 years. Without admission letter you can't book an appointment. But here is the twist there, if you eventually get the appointment for a visa after 2 years long wait and arrive Germany for your masters, you must graduate in the next 2 years otherwise you will
have problem changing your visa to post study and automatically might be exmatriculated if you fail to graduate or even face deportation because as a master's student you have a maximum of 8 semesters but unfortunately a lot of us has already used 4 in search for an appointments date.
