US STOCK MARKET UPDATE 17 SEPT 2025

Rate cut play still on the table, a pullback for the target stocks around 6.30pm Nigeria time will likely to be a good buy. So for today we are interested in stocks that are falling in prices.

For the early part of the market we will do nothing. Just like big money will not be in the market, we would be relaxing, but we may likely make our move at tge time stated above and fir our target stocks we want them to have fallen in price.

So it you see your portfolio showing red early in the day, do not panic, the real owners of the market are relaxing somewhere, buy will likely start showing up when the market is about to close?

US STOCK MARKET IS SWEET
I am more comfortable here than the Nigeria market.

But as Nigerian, I will still be involved in the Nigeria market, especially the hot sectors at every point in time. For now Insurance sector of the Nigeria market is not bad, jus as the Nigeria banks will continue to loose market to the FinTechs little by little.

Just as point out in our Caucus message this morning, put of the banks that are to report the half year results, FIDELITY should be one of the few that will see some reasonable improvement in performance compared with the previous year.

If I am right xou want to put your money in Investment APP run by Bamboo. Ti be frank. I will first advise you to do an online review about the APP. But left to me most ot these FinTechs are too weak, to invest with and go to sleep. If I want to do what you want to do. I will contact reputable fairly capitalised firms like United Capital or ARM they are likely to offer you that return that any mushroom FinTech can offer and with the added benefit of better safety of your funds in the future.

Buying shares on those platforms are different, you are not investing money with them, you are buying shares which will be totally yours lying at an exchange somewhere, so what happens to that FinTech in the future is not your concern. If the FinTech (let us be factual and not deceive ourselves, some of these small online platforms, due to the low volume of business they are currently generating and partly due to the poot depth of experience of the operators cannot last long, except something drastic is introduced into thier current business model, like Chaka has a good opportunity to start something new with Alpaca, but the current Manager are still clueless in bringing that change that may bring back the deserting Customers) goes out of business your shares are intact.

So, if you understand this, you can make your decision. I wish you the best and safety of your money, both now and in the future.

TODAY WAS ANOTHER FAIRLY OKAY DAY FIR THE BULLS
Data centre and drones industries did well today.

Some of the stocks delivered instant profits. Although the day started on a scary note.

SOME NIGERIAN ORGANISATIONS ARE RUN BY IDIOTS
For the users of "Chaka" platform it is like 2 months that the platform has not been properly functioning and the owners of the platform fails to tow the line of honour by not saying that they are incapable of running the business.

Imagine the disruption caused to the users of the platform.

On that platform, had my portfolio set up the way I wanted such that I was collecting monthly dividends of approximately NGN30k (quite small, but that provided funds to continue playing the market without any pressure on funds to trade, except when I need to take bigger positions). But since the problem of the platform commenced, my portfolio has to be protected by selling some of the portfolios by moving my money to another platform (as the 1st line of defence). Repeated requests that the platform move my account to another broker has always been rebuffed and even up till today that platform has never returned to normal.

If the platform is run by normal and reasonable human beings, the fact that you wiped off people's trading history (I want to know I much I have lost or gained since I started investing with the platform over 5 years ago), now this is no more possible. Even since the platform partially came on stream, on daily basis the history of gains are losses are not shown.

I call the people idiots because if they have some iota of experience in investing matters thay would have known tat some minute details, like this are essential for the platform users.

To make matters worst, the inexperienced operators do not even know when the platform will start working properly!!!

This is really bad and I woll say a big shame on these set of inexperience operators.

It is a pity that they are giving bad names to Nigeria platforms, because now I will just lump other locally based trading platforms like this together as "mushroom platforms". No wonder someone said he has no respect for all these things call "APPS" these days, as anybody can creat one at very little cost even without any knowledge of how a computer operates.

Tactically I will continue to liquidate my remaining positions on the platform, but this has the risk that one may need to suffer some small losses.

Example see, what chaka platform is displaying, 1st picture and what other platforms as showing price for CVNA (the others are correct), what chaka displayed is totally wrong?

This is a painful matter. But we have to face it and move ahead.

There was minimal loss in our portfolio today, setting the stage for the bulls to celebrate "1st October as a mini independent day'.

Initial information is telling the market that the US Senate failed to sign the US spending budget?

Except this matter is resolved fast, market may nose dive and Gold with addition of Bitcoin will rise (but Bitcoin is like a bat, moves with stock most of the time (but in majority of the market player, they assume it is Gold, today is an example of when men will be separated from boys, who are the boys and who are the men).

Let us watchout.vThere is no need for panic, the issue will be resolved.

So today, we are back to window shopping and today, I will stand on my window shopping principle.

For today, the market rising is a big surprise. Probably the labour report telling us that another sure rate cut is in the pipeline is what is driving the market higher.

LONGEVITY IN THE MARKET DELIVERS BENEFITS
Let us try as much as possible to protect our capital. The longer we are able to stay in the market, the more will understand the nuances if the market.

A good example is this US lockdown matter. Previously it is a highly feared event such that the legislators used to stay very later in the Parliament to sign the bill at most the very last minutes.

But this time around, yesterday's market action is understandable, it coinsided with another important report, but today again the market is looking forward to another postive close? A little wired?

Our plan of action for today remain same "do nothing', yes "we give our portfolio time to breath".

The legislators are not around today, the lockdown bill will not be signed until Friday? And suprisingly, the market doesn't seem to care? Wonders shall never end, this type of bill previously Parliament will even sit on a Sunday to sign it. So, this even has now become a binary event, that the effect cannot be easily predicted . Nevertheless, I will not be a heavy buyer before the legislation is passed. However. I will defend my profits if need be.

Actually yesterday I still did a reschurfling of my Portfolio ( I will not take it as trading, I am building back my dividend machine which useless and half functioning "Chaka Platform tried to destroy".

Looking at the market showing bullish trend in face of this lockdown matter is a big problem.

With NVDA and Tesla (I use these as my bell weather stocks, these are stocks that tell you the temperature of the market, they are cold, market is cold, they are 🔥 hot, market is hot.

Okay. We will wait and see what happens after 30 Minutes of market opening. I may do some small reshuffling again depending on the dominant sectors fir today.

I am fearful of the advancing market. Both Parties in the Senate should just sign the bill and let the bulls give the final "wotowoto" to the bears. Zhen we can do some small cashout. grin

I think both NVDA and TSLA are currently hot, I have consistently Long both in futures on BG over the past week and I have always been in profit, only once I was in loss. Little did I even know that these my trades could qualify me to win out of the 10 Tesla shares or even USDT prize on BG

THE US SENATE BETTER HET THEIR ACTS TOGETHER ANF SIGN TH SPENDING BILL?!!!
Today Trump spoke, I believe for the 1st time on the shutdown. As the parliament returns today, they should do the needful fast so that things can return to normal!!!

Let, us expect a bigger bull today as the bill has over 50% probability of being signed.

MARKET UPDATE 3 OCT 2025
A very volatile day in the market. Some sector related to batteries/lithium/rear earth made some crazy moves (over 20%), you just cannot chase those type of moves.

It seems the Senate want the approval to move zo Monday? Looks quite unusual, problem is Trump wanted a cut in Public Health budget, democrats are saying no!!! Okay, at a point they will agree at something!!!

LIKELY MARKET DIRECTION TOMMORROW 6 OCTOBER
General market likely to be in conslidation/slightly bearish, but the sub sectors that have been bullish like the metals, batteries, blockchain/AI may continue.

Going further on Gold/Bitcoin comments, this time around Gold and Bitcoin are moving together. So ig the shutdown continues, expect the 2 to continue moving up. And on the day the shutdown ends, they are likely part ways, with Bitcoin moving up and Gold likely dropping (on the day of the spending approval only).

THIS GLOBAL MARKET IS SWEET
Market has been good for like zhe past 3 trading days for my portfolio.

One of the big lessons I have learnt is to avoid undue risk. I tried buying some biotech stocks today: DAWN. MYGN. However, when I read somethings about their fundamentals, I has to make a retreat and these are stocks that are already generating income, not the zero income type? Return of Capital is sometimes[b] "more important than 'return on capital"[/b]

And for those that like biotechs we are entering a season they may start doing well, with a lot of acquisitions likely to happen. tongue

Imagine if I did that on Trove? "Gbese" 0.75 x 8, okay not too much, I save $6. I am still happy.

The fact that on Nigeria Stocks we have to pay commission is why low value trades are not encouraged. In the Nigeria stock charges the is a fixed amount, I am not sure of the figure, maybe NGN200 that is fixed.
