ā”Last night, Pakistani fighter jets carried out a series of airstrikes on Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Afghanistan. At least 8 airstrikes were carried out on targets in Jalalabad, Khost, Margha, and the Afghan capital of Kabul. Unconfirmed reports state that TTP Chief Noor Wali Mehsud was killed in a targeted assassination strike, however TTP-affiliated sources deny this. Pakistan's military is set to hold an "extremely important" press-conference at 2:30pm local time, just under 4 hours from now. TTP (separate to the Afghan Taliban) is a militant group which primarily operates in Pakistan, carrying out attacks on the Pakistani military, as well as Shia Muslim civilians.

ā”The Trump administration on Thursday proposed banning Chinese airlines from flying over Russia on routes to and from the United States, saying the reduced flight time this practice enables puts American carriers at a disadvantage. U.S. airlines have long criticized the decision to allow Chinese carriers to use Russian airspace on U.S. routes because it gives them the advantage of decreased flying time and burns less fuel, lowering costs. Russia has barred U.S. airlines and many other foreign carriers from flying over its airspace in retaliation for Washington banning Russian flights over the U.S. in March 2022 after the country invaded Ukraine. Chinese airlines were not banned and have been using this advantage to increase market share compared to non-Chinese carriers on international routes. The U.S. Transportation Department said on Thursday in its proposed order the current situation was "unfair and has resulted in substantial adverse competitive effects on U.S. air carriers."

There's a strong possibility of lasting peace coming to Gaza through the ceasefire aggrement between Hamas and the state of Israel. This welcome development brought to play through the auspices of the pragmatic Donald Trump and his diplomatic team. With peace coming to Gaza, this will serve as a catalyst to peace in the middle-east region as a whole. "With all things being equal," all indices point to lasting peace in the middle-east While this new historical development as expected has been received with much rigour and acclamation by many from different parts of the world. With many countries praising the US led muti-national brokered deal.. However, it seems like our "genocidal" ranting buddies are not that keen with the new reality of peace coming to the middle-east. It is as if a cloud of sadness has descended upon the thread here on Nairaland!!. I thought the safety of the Arab civilians was the driving force for their "fictional" genocidal rants!!. With peace coming to Gaza, there's no more channels for the fueling of "fictional" wars and warmongering by our warmongers in the thread. With peace in Gaza, the "fictional" war between Israel and Turkey won't take place, with peace in Gaza. Egypt won't suddenly and unilaterally invade Gaza and take on Israel as touted by our in-house seasoned analyst. With peace in the middle-east, there won't be the most anticipated civil war in Syria as promised by our friends. P.s The US who is losing influence in the middle-east according to a gromeless individual has just facilitated one of the major ceasefire aggrement in the region in decadesš š After the ceasefire aggrement the next step should be a Abraham Accords 2.0 which could bring the likes of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and even Syria into relations with the Jewish state. |

obedience4:Their sadness shows that their rants was never about seeking peace, all they wanted was the annihilation of Israel. P.S: A Venezuelan campaigning for end to dictatorship and calling for democracy has won the Nobel Peace Prize. America has planted another seed in that place.š¤£š¤£. I am sure the shoemaker that parades as lawyer here would have expected one irrelevant Francesca Albanese to win the award because of her so called report on "Israel is committing genocide in Gaza" as if rapporteur reports are binding on the UN. With Iran in shambles, gradually turning to another Zimbabwe with 42,000+ Iranian rial making a dollar, Hamas dismantled, Hezbollah in tatters, Houthis licking wounds. Arab nations as uninvited spectators in the peace deal now and forever. We move unto the next one. God bless Netanyahu. |

Al Jazeera published a map of Gaza that shows how ISRAELI forces will withdraw under the first phase of the ceasefire plan while remaining in control of nearly 60% of the Strip. In other words - We will get all of our hostages back and still not leave until Hamas is disarmed and no longer in any governing position. ISRAEL WON. HAMAS LOST.

THE TRUE FACT ABOUT THE GAZA WAR The Gaza war recorded the lowest civilian-to-combatant ratio in modern warfare, despite being fought under some of the most complex and demanding battlefield conditions any state military has ever faced. ISRAEL'S forces confronted a literal underground war machineāa vast network of tunnels and command centers deliberately built beneath residential neighborhoods, hospitals, schools, and mosques. To make matters worse, the enemyās combatants did not wear uniforms, intentionally blurring the line between civilians and fighters. The harsh reality is that a large portion of the civilian population supported the enemyās actions and ideology, serving as human shields, informants, and logistical partners in sustaining terror operations. Yet, despite this, Israelās leadership has often chosen to absorb greater military losses rather than risk civilian casualties among an enemy deeply embedded within its own people. This policyāshaped by elitist academics and policymakers detached from the battlefield and the realities of Jewish lifeāhas come at a devastating cost. It is time to end this misguided doctrine. Israelās duty is first and foremost to protect its soldiers and citizens, not to die for those who glorify their killers. Amir T |
