This is becoming common especially as more and more graduate struggle to get a better life after school, it has started bro bring doubt in the effectiveness of school anyways among the young ones...

So how would you react if your child suddenly refuses to go for higher school after senior secondary..?

Ask the child to develop and present a detailed alternate plan, which we would then proceed to analyze for real-world potential and worth.

What if he keeps saying something abstract like he wants to be a cartoonist...

I am not against my child wanting to be a cartoonist or a singer, though. Also, Cartoonists and Artists do even better if they attend college or art school. -\

I am, however, against my child expecting me to provide support for that which is abstract. For this investor to continue investing, the child would need to provide a clearly detailed plan; otherwise, college would need to remain at least a backup plan— even if it would need to be via an online/distance learning program.

Never FORCE your children to read this/go to school. Some renowned scientists,entrepreneurs, billionaire of past/present didn't go to higher institutions ,some are even employers of the so called graduate..

i get you point am a grad too but i wanted military school. it turned out great now and maybe it could have been better. the world of today doesnt work like ours anymore my friend never wanted to read medicine but the mum a matron forced him while another could not withstand it dropped to pharmacy and his not doing so great in life right now. the best is look at the talent the kid exhibit the most and encourage them to follow that part dont flog them to. many billionaires are no graduate. its their future not yours

He/she would def have to get some skills.
