On the ceasefire itself, it's too early to judge. There's uncertainty as to it's holding and negotiations are still ongoing, but the idea of destroying Hamas has proven to be wishful thinking

In this last round of talks, Hamas negotiators sat in the same room as their israeli counterparts, facing each other eyeball to eyeball and reached an agreement. Previously, they never met each other. That must have been a very bitter pill for the israelis to swallow, because not only did they fail to defeat them like they promised, they had to be in the same room as them, negotiate with them and agree with them, to achieve some of their goals. This is all the more humiliating when you factor in the fact that israel had declared open season on all Hamas heads and yet they ended up subduing themselves before them to get a deal. Literally the only thing worth responding to, is your questioning if they sat face to face. My answer is do your research, previous negotiations were done indirectly even if they were at the same venue, this time it was direct, with both sides in the same room

I don't need to scream genocide, it has a legal definition, codified as the Genocide Convention or more formally, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG)

Nowhere in my post did I use the terms victory or defeat, because it's pointless to do so. The reality is that the fact that a genocide took place in our lifetime, is a loss for humanity already. When I look at the definition of "Genocide, i see no similitude between the definition and actions taken by the IDf in Gaza.There's simply no correlation nor justification for the genocidal claims.

Now, don't get me wrong, the IDF didn't cover herself with glory throughout the military operations, Certain war crimes were committed, throughout history no military apparatus is immune from this, when there's a large scale military operation especially in Urban areas. War crimes are bound to be committed by combatants.

Some over zealous idividuals from the IDf acted unilaterally against "the code of conduct" expected from being a member of the Israel defense force and orchestrated certain acts many of which were held accountable by the higher echelons in the Jewish military.

The key here is "Perception", and whatever influences our perception!!
