Not enough to say thank you and you go off.

It is clearly stated that you can't extend on your visa.

So what's up? Was it a back end stuff you did? We need clarity.

Tell us what we need to know
Or a hint incase someone else has similar issues.
No boss, I didn't do any backend stuff, I wouldn't endanger myself and my future chances ....everything was done at the department of home affairs, via VFS

Documents submitted are
Previous visa(if any)
Existing visa
Passport data page
Entry stamp into SA
Bank statement
Return ticket
Letter stating your reason for extension
Visa fee is 425 rands
VFS charge is 1550rands

You know i like when people are very clear and straight. I had similar thing some time ago, i had to fly back to Nigeria. Now that this is authenticated, then it opens way for other people in similar cases. This is why we always encourage people to share information. I appreciate this feedback @donrolex. Carry go and let us know when you hear from the home affairs, if extension is sorted or further feedbacks

Truly, I was surprised you never knew, considering your wealth of travel experiences and your knowledge of south Africa visa process and also how you've been helpful to applicants on this platform

I sure would give feedback, thank you

Trust me, somethings are just like that. I had the hint of a possibility on my last trip, but i am always cautious of these "clauses" on visas. I rather go back than give it a shot, that is me, however if the situation becomes unexpected, i sometimes may want to give a risk.

Not like i dont want to try it out, but Nigerians do not have a good image as perceived in SA, So i try to be careful in that country. I prolly will give it a shot elsewhere but definitely not SA as the case were.

Also, in recent times, there has been some bit of modifications on these visa conditions, though not widely publicized but you only need to inquire just as you did, so we may not be aware of some new updates unless someone shares it.

This is why we always encourage information sharing to keep us all abreast.

Goodluck to you and keep us posted.

The condition for E-visa extension is that an application must be submitted 60 days before current visa expires,I'm also just getting to know this, just a recent change, amazing, but you will not be able to travel outside the country until new visa is issued, but his visa is for a week hence I'm wondering the possibility, but things are changing anyway.

In Europe and other places, if you submit an application on an ongoing visa, you automatically get an extension until a decision is made on the visa application.

However, this is subject to immigration discretion or policy.

I should suppose same applies to South Africa, Same applies to Kenya *(as I confirmed)*

So I think there are exceptions.

We await further feedbacks.

In my own case, am going to renew, and am already back to Nigeria. But I don't know how to go about it yet. I have a 2year student visa but the validity was based on my old passport which expired June 30th but I didn't over stay came back a day before.

Been having some issues and confused as to go about it. People keep saying I can go back with it and the nee passport but I feel is best to renew.

Ps: I just started school in April, after waiting a month and some days to get the Student Visa.

SA is safe and you have to be careful like any country in the world.

SA might have xenophobic people but it stems from Nigerians illegal activities in the country, it did not stem from nowhere, it's the ill behavior of Nigerians who are here, manly igbos who act like agberos, breaking bottles, making noise, urinating in the streets, do not adhere to traffic light, littering and turning cities into Ghettos that people have problems with, you as a tourist will probably not even encounter those Nigerians as most are in poor over crowded places like CBD's, where they exhibit their uncivilized behavior and make noise outside their mama-put alcohol joints.

If you are coming as a tourist and doing normal tourist activities, you will not have any issues and would enjoy the place a lot and meet friendly south African everywhere.

Lol, they will soon come for you. You should be mindful of mentioning tribes next time, that is a very sensitive statement.

You can say "Nigerians" it is fine like that which is obvious a fact. Nigerians erratic behavior is well reported in SA

That being said, In Pretoria, Close to Francis Baard, there is this place called "Troye", around Sunnyside, that area is where you have to highest African community of business people.

Check it out if you want to feel that vibe of being around your people.

Goodluck @Mkin

Good day all!
Please can someone share the contact of South Africa embassy in Abuja. I have applied for postdoc since July 22nd 2025 till this moment I have not heard anything from them. When I track the application, it's saying that my visa application is under process at South Africa embassy in Abuja.
A colleague that applied 3 weeks after I applied has gotten his own approved already.
What could be the delay?
Thank you.

Is anyone else having issues logging into the DHA e-permit website? Every time I try to login, it says they are undergoing routine maintenance.

Dear all @hunee,
Please I applied for sticker visa for a month now at Lagos VFS but I'm yet to get a call or sms to submit passport. Also, the tracking website shows it's still under processing at the embassy. I was at VFS two days ago to inquire the reason for the delay but the guy there said they are yet to call for the passport that I should hold on. He cited backlogs

Conference is in about 3 weeks time. Any help will be appreciated.

You are smart and intelligent.

First, I have never text anyone off this space via WhatsApp for visa related purpose. The said screenshot is another scam strategy. Obviously, because they know I am quite reckoned with here, they want to ride on my integrity to do the unimaginable.

Everyone be woke!

How can I be of assistance to you? Tell us what you want here.

We will reply.

Absolutely 💯.

I knew it was scam immediately I saw it. I've known you and other credible folks here to not engage in such based on the kind of responses you give and willingness to assist.

Thanks once again

Hi Hunee…Can you advise of the possibility of getting E-Visa within 4 days from Nigeria? Agencies are charging me 1 million and above but I feel I can apply and do it myself.
It’s a business travel for a conference. Company (with a branch in SA) is going to sponsor and I have the invitation letter from the professional body from SA. The trip is just for a week.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Simplesoul05(m): 4:41pm On Oct 11, 2025
Apply through the normal way. You have all the requirements already.
