What do you mean by "people said" is the property under high tension cable or not, someone will come and tell us he has approval, With Naija way of doing things anybody can any approval. Police sometimes fail from intelligence stage because bribes and internal cover up. In fact, the entire police structure had been compromised, from top to bottom. We now live in double standard society where they preach against evil, and still fail to punish or frown at evildoer severely as long as money is involved.

If I told you some government agencies are complicit in the contravention of law or disregard for rules and regulations guilding building and construction, you would say I am not being truthful.

I have lived in a community within lagos for over 32 years, saw the low and gradual development of the locality. When you begin small foundation, the local government boys always come around, and recently LABCA shows up too. And I have always asked myself how LABCA that is about 10 kilometres away hinterland always get information about renovations and new constructions. My guess is that they have local agents who feeds them with up-to-date 411. It means they get some form of intelligence which they act upon or skip.
Even the omoniles will also come around to collect illegal benefits on 2 or 3 occasion.

The agency of government take kickback, and even assure the owner that they turn blind eye to it.
My point is this: you don't wait for the person to finish building before you pull it down. Pull it down before they even get to roof level.
