We can now conclude that Tinubu has failed woefully in every aspect of governance. |

The ASUU strike is inevitable. This is what you get when a government is obviously incompetent, fail woefully and spectacularly and then chooses to engage in lies, falsehood, and propaganda. The Tinubu administration played the game of lies, falsehood, and propaganda with this issue. First, they denied that there was any agreement between the Federal Government and ASUU, in their usual manner of passing the buck describing the referenced documents as merely proposals. But when they were called out, they backtracked. |

As I have said many times, the solution is simple...raise the fees....or ask government to take a loan that may pass 10-20 billion dollars or more just to fund universities and pay world class salaries. I mean, if government could not pay the N3 trillion naira promised in 2009, in 2012 when oil prices were at 100-130 dollars per barrel, dem go pay am now when oil prices are low. Many of you will quote me to shout saner climes. IN saner climes, it is either high fees, or high taxes (half your salary in places like Denmark and Germany, in the latter you pay higher if you are richer)...or both (see the UK...that's why a UK citizen takes loans for university, unless you are from Scotland). If you tell me you should not compare Nigeria to saner climes because minimum wage, then that means that you are admitting that we should keep our bad universites. Remember our budget is half of what say the UK spend on police. And our education budget is one third of what Harvard spends on itself. And we are not spending it on univertsites alone Again in sane climes most people on minimum wage cannot afford university there. Either loans or scholarships if possible It's funny when people come and abuse me for telling the truth. And then they go call me agbero...when I knew about this since 2013. That was when GEJ told the lecturers some cold hard truths...about university funding. |

Governance goes beyond words like emilakon...tinubu just don't have the strength to handle the power of a president ..to the interest of citizens..I believe he could have been a better president 10years ago ..but now at 87 ...he's way too old for governance...imagine giving presidential pardons to drug Lords and murderers wow |

Imagine going on strike over a verbal agreement from 2008 (With Yaradua&GEJ). ASUU is jobless. They just don’t want some holiday and don’t feel like working. |
| Re: ASUU Begins two-week Nationwide Strike On Monday by nairalanda1(m): 4:25pm On Oct 12, 2025 |
ojbaba95:Yes, that's an idea I back...but a side effect is fees go up to millions of naira. Most of you will start shouting poverty. Autonomy does not mean that government will give them money. It means that universites as you said become self funding. No more grants. |

This ASUU issue will never go away until we do the needful Proper pricing system is the best way to develop any sector. We no longer have problems in the petroleum sector now because of proper pricing. Let every University employ their own staff, pay them according to agreed terms while the government assist the poor citizens with loans and grants. Tinubu has done everything for ASUU since 2023, now they have gone to collect money from the 2 sore losers just to rubbish his record of 2.5 years without strike. Otherwise, why would they want to force this government to honour an agreement they had with Yar adua since like 15 years ago? |

ezegenigbonine:This is not what ASUU should repay President Tinubu back for paying them the salaries withheld by Buhari for going on strike. To me this is more or less like a political blackmail. |
