Besides what we know as repository of knowledge and easy reference, is there any other thing about library? Why is our first lady obsessed with library?

I think madam should concentrate on women and children. Those categories of Nigerians need a lot of attention and assistance, especially the extremely poor and frail looking ones. Leave library matter for education and associated ministries.
Why do you have governors? There are people elected to look after women and children in your state. If she wants to help in building the National library good for her. But that is not her responsibility either.

I remember that she started the spelling bee competition when she was first lady of Lagos State.
Is it not remarkable that she started this competition but failed, along with her husband to have enough well paid teachers and other workers for the free education of all Lagos children despite being progressive politicians huh

What do you think APC Lagos governors are doing to the N3.4 trillion budget that was N42 billion a quarter of a century ago, if they are unable to make basic services and utilities available?

Lanrelagboi:
Lagos has now crossed the 3 Trillion Naira annual budget mark. Crossed 2 Trillion in 2024.

Memory Lane: the first full-year Lagos State budget (Year 2000) in the 4th Republic was in the region of 40-something billion Naira. And it was described as “unprecedented” back then.

Ratio of public to private schools in Lagos State is one to 22 ― Commissioner
September 4, 2022

The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.

Tunaji:
What you don't know is hunger inspires and reading even inspires more!

The great prophets of the bible got their inspiration while fasting and hungry without food. When you read added to that, your imagination goes wild.

When you are belleful, blood is diverted into the stomach and abdomen towards digestion from the brain, but in-between meals blood supply to the brain is often preserved as a vital organ and your nerves can fire with inspiration. So,yes being hungry is not entirely a bad thing, we all need nutrients though.
Hahahaha

I like the spiritual angle
But you see fasting on purpose is different from fasting because no food or little to eat.

I get your point though grin

You're just an unfortunate person. You called eminent Nigerians who donated for the library gullible citizens? Do you know better than them? I expect you to keep your energy after all you don't even have anything to donate. This is how people like you starts, donation in the office, you criticize it. Donation in the family, you condemn it. Donation in the community, you scatter it, donation in the church, you criticize it to high heaven. It's better you keep quiet and allow people that have something to donate to do so.

National libraries are critical national assets used for holding the national archive.

Please tell them!
Donations to a National project for the good of the Nation and Donations for a personal agenda - which one is laudable?
Let's learn how to appreciate good things when we see them even if we don't like the person doing it. It shows maturity.

Are there no ministries that are statutorily responsible for women and children in Nigeria?

Ideally, politicians seeking public office depend on supporters to fund their campaigns.

Campaigns are expensive and its not expected that politicians be able to fund such endeavors from.their pockets except they are genuinely rich or thieves.

So yes, there is nothing wrong if people donate for peter obis presidential campaign.

The national library is under the supervision and management of a ministry most likely education.

Why is remi tinubu trying to usurp the office of the minister?

Who gave her the authority to call for donations for building a government building?

Is she on this trip to Qatar with her personal money or at the expemse of Nigerians that her husband wants to tax?

presidential campaign is a personal project, national library is a general project.. sometimes you should use your brain,it makes more sense to donate to build a school than to donate to send one person to school.politics shouldn't make use sound lame always

ok...

lets see if you didnt sound lame and if you use your brain:

1. how does presidential campaign being a "personal project" negate the points I raised about how presidential aspirants are supposed to raise funds for their campaigns?

2. how is national library "a general project"?

3. what do you mean by "general project"?

4. who is in charge of this "general project"?

5. is there an Act that establishes the national library?

6. Is there an existing national library in nigeria?

7. if there is, how did it come about?

8. under whose supervision is the national library?

9. Is Remi tinubu statutorily one of the supervisors of the national library?

11. Is she on this trip to Qatar with her personal money or at the expense of Nigerians that her husband wants to tax?
