And some people wonder why some people carry out jungle justice. Imagine someone's parent was kidnapped ...raped... seriously wounded or killed by this kidnapped .... family broke and in debt due to raising ransom .... and now learning the man has been released early. Why wouldn't that man grab every opportunity to brutalize any thief or kidnapper? I'm disappointed at the royal treatment they get by the Police who capture them. I would expect these terrorists to be clawing for life in a hospital and the nurses to be busy not helping. Until then..... nothing changes
Re: Kelvin Oniarah: The Notorious Kidnap Kingpin Pardoned By President Tinubu by NotOfThisWorld(f):
This is very senseless. Someone like him who is a danger to the society should not be pardoned. He committed such fearful crimes. At least let him finish doing the time. He may just start terrorising people again, smh.

Grab it, snatch it and run with it.
Tinubu is gathering his boys for 2027 election.
He has started strategizing.
Soon, everyone will be caught unawares.

I can only imagine what would be going on in the mind of Mike Ozekhome and all other victims. This man still has a whole lot of 7 years to serve his term, why in a hurry to pardon him. He was also sentenced 2 years ago.
Because 2027 is just around the corner. Where else would you have access to thugs in areas where you traditionally don't have the reach? Convicted killers who now believe they owe you their lives?

That blanket amnesty was just a smokescreen to hide the key people na were needed to be let out to unleash mayhem. Otherwise why with all the outcry to release Kanu, that was precisely the person that wasn't granted amnesty if there were true sincerity of action on the part of the presidency?

There's no limit to the evil that Tinubu would do in Nigeria.

Stop being stupid. Before he approves whatever the committee sends to his office, a full dosier of all the persons complete with their personal and case and security profiles are sent to him, which he goes through and decides who to pardon and who not to pardon.
He knows their cases one by one.
He's pardoning his fellow criminals and foot soldiers.
Re: Kelvin Oniarah: The Notorious Kidnap Kingpin Pardoned By President Tinubu by kpankpangolo: 2:09am On Oct 13, 2025
He did twelve years out of twenty. He was lucky. The same happens in developed climes. It is now up to him to make good use of his freedom or return to old vices. If the latter is the case, sorry anytime they catch him. Most criminals who return to society don’t become better at crimes, they merely continue from where they stopped.

Oh he didn’t know them, and he didn’t see their case files and briefed on their crimes? They just passed a paper for him to sign and he signed?

Can you listen your words? So maybe he has signed away Nigeria’s future without knowing, based on what you’re saying here?

Tueh

If he doesn't know them, why did he pardon them,

Are you telling the world that your brother tinubu as a president did not do due diligence on convicted criminals before releasing them?

What a shame

Chaiiiiiii and he was celebrated in his state. I don't understand. This shows that anyone can be released. Just imagine how scared and traumatised the witnesses that testified against him would be right now. The security men who tried fighting him and died in the process died for nothing. This is why such criminals and terrorists should be shot dead and not arrested. Even the arrested criminals that killed the arise lawyer would be released and pardoned by another administration. Whatever you do, don't allow anybody to kill you cos the state might pardon them and if they repent, God will forgive them.
You spoke my mind. Don't allow yourself to be killed by anyone because even God will forgive him and call him his son if he repents.

Nigerian news will trigger your accumulated anger. When the head is rotten and decay, the body will suffer.

Are you going to say Tinubu is not aware about this? Bola is a disaster and a cancer to Nigeria.

Posterity will judge you.

Imagine kidnappers, terrorists and drug dealers are being pardoned. USA is right for saying Nigeria is committing genocide against Christians.

So as a commander in chief,it's not his position or responsibility to make due diligence before signing into degreee, what about the others he also pardon like Maryam Sanda,Yusuf Owolabi,Ifeanyi Eze(all for manslaughter)
Please explain lemme understand

Your problem is that you not abreast with the constitution and how presidential pardon works. Why you call it reckless use of power.

I don’t know how it became a problem in 2025, where it is expected that all is enlightened, and a presidential pardon still became the problem of many.

Did the president violate any legal or constitutional grounds? No!

So what exactly is your problem?
Bla bla bla.
Gibberish.

Pray you don't become a victim of those criminals that where pardoned.

I see remarks about ignorance everywhere.

Pardons are given to criminals or offenders who have been imprisoned and have a jail sentence attached. What do you expect when you see the government pardoning these individuals? Can a government official be pardoning a law-abiding citizen? No, pardons are granted to criminals who may have been found guilty of a particular offense.
I have seen the Enlightened one
Presidential pardon are granted for those who are falsely accused like the Ogonis likes of Ken Saro Wiwa,Major-General Mamman Jiya Vatsa because he was allegedly accused of plotting a coup, people of subordinate or lesser crime or even people packed in prision awaiting trail because the purpose of presidential pardon is to decongest the prison instead he allowed Manslaughters,Drug convicted,Known kidnappers and someone who threatened the peace of a country

I never believed that buhari can be better than this agbado
You guys are jokers, not Tinubu or Yorubas, who can never stop displaying your rabid and baseless hatred of Yorubas over every issue.

Let's inspect facts intelligently even as I am sure you are ignorant of the facts in this case. This guy got 20 years not life.

Meaning, unless stipulated at sentencing, he may be subject to inspection by the prison parole review board for early release based on remorse and adequate rehabilitation in prison.

He has served 12 years already. What has Tinubu done, after advisement from qualified authorities on the issue he has to trust, the Prison parole review board could not have done for you to launch this attack against the SW and Yorubas?

Can you listen to yourself?? I don't blame you sha. You don't know what presidential pardon is.
Why would you blame me?

Have you ever held a very senior position in a large corporate organisation before?

If you have you would know that a person in such a role does not have the time to scrutinise 100% a document not related to the core responsibilities of his role.

A list of prisoners recommended for state pardon is not the same as a $500 billion loan agreement or a bilateral agreement with another country therefore it should not attract so much scrutiny from the president.

The committee or task force that compiled the list should have done a more thorough job
