Banishment is never ever going to be the right way to go no matter how frustrated the villagers have become by her, but let's not inadvertently encourage stealing. I hope she learns her lessons.

As much as I don't support the actions of the elders, that lady is a menace that should be avoided. In a sane society, the children should have been taken away from her. She truly needs help but not financially. The issue happened in my village.

She was very happy doing that, she can steal virtually everything she saw not minding if the item will be useful to her or not.
I don't support the elders either, some of the so called elders were indicted in collecting money to give herdsmenn land to settle which to me is greater evil than what the woman is doing. They had the audacity to sit and banish a pregnant woman

You are on point, however, I have it on good record that no one was helping her after the husband died. You can't blame people around either, everyone around is struggling to feed his mouth here, we are not different from those at ido camp

Because she is a thief they have to banished her? Is it constitutional to banish somebody from her community?
Where they are sending her to is it not a community?
Which community will embrace her if everyone keep rejecting her?

Is it the worst offense that somebody can commit to warrant such treatment?
