These are good recommendations, but my only concern here is that the umpire in this election cannot be trusted because it's not independent. Consequently, one of the big 4 auditing firms in Nigeria should have access to INEC backend server in real-time to help monitor the results as they trickle in. If not, the new INEC chairman probably has a story he will tell Nigerians in 2026 November why something went wrong with the server. Lastly, I don't know why we still need presiding officers when we can actually transmit election results in real time. |

Let the governorship and presidential election hold the same day and let me see if Tinubu won't be defeated before 1pm. |

Hmmm 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 They now want to weaponize the election date Most citizens are looking for money (and in some cases Bags of Rice) in November preparing for the festive seasons ... You now declare an election, Where the politician with the deepest pocket for vote buying will likely be the winner .. Where the politician with the largest warehouse of Rice, Garri and Groundnut Oil will likely be the winner Politicians with vote buying plans will smile at this proposed bill... |

Till I see laws banning election candidates for life who are involved in electoral malpractices and sentencing electoral officers for life imprisonment for electoral malpractices then all these are just going round the circle... |

I don't know why I'm still finding it so hard to believe in these people, including the inec. Of all the promises Mahmood made in 2023, prior to the 2023 general elections, did we ever believe there would be anything called 'technical glitch '? I wonder how they're going to convince people like me again. |

Very good if they are serious about it. But wait oh, it looks like Akpabio and the House of Reps Speaker are tried of Emilokan's nepotism and are desperate to see the Divisive Southwest President sent back to Iragbiji earlier before he sets the whole country ablaze If they are serious with their motions, then it's a welcomed idea but Baba Sope aka Lagos Landlord will fight to finish, so make una get ready ![]() |

My own major concerning about the election coming up earlier by November is for this present wicked Leader to leave the seat on time. |

Aify147:You are correct. No well meaning Nigerian takes Nigeria's current national assembly, INEC, Judiciary and military serious. Honestly APC really did Nigeria plenty evil. Tinubu used his nepotism, bias leadership and ethnocentric appointments and policies to destroy every atom of hope and patriotism in most Nigerians. And funny enough, Tinubu's funny supporters still expect Nigerians to wish such a divisive, corrupt, wicked and unfair President and his nepotism regime well, how please? How can a father intentionally neglect some of his children while pampering one particular child of his and still expect the rest of his children to love him and wish him well? Bola Tinubu is that father that intentionally neglected some of his children while pampering one of his child the Yorubas while expecting all his children to love him, pray for him and wish him well, its not possible cos some of your children you intentionally neglected and treating with disdain will definitely be wishing you death if need be and they are well justified ![]() |

This idea will only reduce governance to just two years in proper performance while the rest of the year will be based on politicking when we all know that four years is even small to drive good economy policies. I don't think it worth it, it better we get our electoral act right so that the man for the job is put in, also we should look beyond the big names in politics but engage the so called the unpopular ones that are in for business. My one kobo suggestion |

The fine of failure to transmit results electronically should be five years imprisonment or 1 billion naira fine. 1 million naira is a joke. |

All US elections are conducted on the same day. I see no reason the same can't happen here. The only reason most would be opposed to this is because of the possibility of upset victories that tend to occur a lot when you conduct down ballot elections simultaneously with higher races. The popularity of candidates running for higher offices tend to push candidates contesting for lower offices across the finish line. Imagine if the 2023 elections were all conducted in February. The outcome for most elections, especially governorships, would have likely been different than what it eventually was |

SmartPolician:One of the big 4 Auditing firms helped Bunmi Oni of Cadbury to falsify Cadbury company accounts for years until they could not again. Bunki Oni and his Finance Director have both be banned by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria, but the dubious international auditor is still practicing till date. Same thing they did with Enron power company that made USA to revoke the so called international auditor’s license. But did the fraudulent auditors stop practicing? NO, instead, the criminals changed name and continued their fraud till date. |

This government needs to be honest about the economy, all these manufactured numbers with a rising GDP doesn't make sense, A barrel of oil is less than $60/barrel ,not even enough to fund the budget as there is a large deficit. We keep harping on increased remittances, which doesn't make sense because, Global economy is tighter everywhere in the world, USA,UK,Canada residents all complain of inflation and increased costs of living. Telling Nigerians that after paying all their bills abroad they still have money to send to Nigeria as remittances, which is even more than previously, doesn't make any sense at all. Most likely possibility is we are using loans to pay other loans(Ponzi) and subsidizing the dollar. The increased non oil revenue is not adding up, Even Saudi GDP decreased in 2024, selling 11 million barrels of oil per day.And a stable rial to the dollar But Nigeria is reporting increased GDP with 1.3 million barrel oil sales and a largely devalued naira to dollar.....IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. The Nigerian Government is deceiving us with made up Numbers. |
