Very deadly risk. Esp now that Pablo Escobar has granted pardon to the deadliest kidnappers in jail. A flight ticket is cheaper than a ransom. Be warned

I am not sure of Visa or ECOWAS passport o.

The NIN is enough as a means of identification.

No stress yourself.
Go enter ABC Transport, they'll take care of all your travel needs and prerequisite
Re: Travelling To Ghana By Road Next Week, Advise Me by ElevationD: 9:58am On Oct 14, 2025
Sure, without your passport you can travel. However be prepared for exploitation at the borders. The big transport companies demand your international passports for stamping at the various border posts.
The drivers negotiate their way at the border posts if you do not have your passport. Again prepare for embarrassing questions and actions if you do not have a passport.

No, you don't need a yellow card. You can travel with your NIN if you are traveling in a commercial bus. However, the delays are higher when you travel with your NIN and faster when you have your Nigerian passport.

Xpgroove, note that your Nigerian MTN will stop working the moment you get to Cotonou. You should buy a Ghanian SIM card once you get to Aflao. I think it's about 70 Ghana Cedis. That will enable you roam your Nigerian MTN line and stay active on WhatsApp while in Ghana.

Please note that things are by far cheaper in Nigeria than in Ghana. The Cedis just have numerical strength but economically useless. So, get ready to change tons of naira into Cedis at the Seme border or at Chisco terminal at Circle.

That's why you should get your to and fro tickets if you know for sure the day you are coming back because if you spent 100k going to Ghana, you will spend 150k coming back to Nigeria. That's because their currency no get economic value. And you have to pay in Cedis in Accra while coming back.

Please board an organised transport company like GUO, Chisco or GIG. Their fare covers everything you will need to tip border control and policemen. The tasty fried rice served at Chisco terminal in Accra made me fall in love with them cheesy Enjoy your visit!

Some of the best road transport companies are GUO, Cross Country, GIGM, Chisco etc.
You can travel with your NIN card, but the transport fares is charged based on whether you have international passport or not.
Without passport, budget at least N90k. With passport is about N85k.
Try to have your Yellow (immunization) card and Ecowas card, if possible as they make your travel easier but they not compulsory.
When you get to Ghana, you are not allowed to stay for more than 90 days before you return to Nigeria.
Obey their laws, respect your hosts, put aside the lawless, reckless behaviour and attitude we are used to in Nigeria and be civil.
Ghanaians are naturally gentle, loving, accommodating and friendly to visitors/strangers, but the attitude of some Nigerians living in Ghana is making them react nowadays.

You obviously used those mile 2 cars. There is no embarrassment if you had used the regular transport companies like Chisco, GIG, ABC, and co.

You are right ✅️. Ghana is the most gloomy and sad country on earth. Everyone is sad in that place. Too many poor people that can't even afford to feed on daily basis. Zero value for money and they literally get angrier immediately they know you are from Nigeria. Very shitty place. I won't allow my dog to spend a night in that horrible place.

It's not true......as long as you are going with a reputable transport company like GUO, you will pay more if you don't have passport. The transport company will handle that aspect. I just came back on Friday, as Ghanaians came to buy goods from Lagos market without passports.

All these you typed are figments of your imagination.
It may be very difficult to live peacefully outside your country if you don't respect your hosts when you travel to another man's country.
The last time I checked, Nigeria's poverty level is one of the highest in the world.
