The management of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, has announced the receipt of 21 brand-new shuttle buses donated by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to the institution.

The Public Relations Officer of the university, Abiodun Olarewaju, in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Sunday, said, “Exactly one year after announcing her commitment during a grand commemorative event, the University took delivery of 21 brand-new shuttle buses on Friday, 10th October, 2025, marking a significant stride toward modernising the institution’s beleaguered internal transportation system.”

Olarewaju revealed that the gesture, being part of a total pledge of 50 buses, sparked jubilant celebrations across the campus, saying students and staff alike hailed it as a beacon of hope for safer, more dignified mobility.

My brother, don't mind them. Always misplacing priorities and misappropriating tax payers resources.

This wicked and heartless leadership will squeeze resources out of the throat of the ordinary masses, and share amongst themselves and engage it in few relatively insignificant projects / gestures.

If their priority is to ensure the security of food and basic amenities for the citizens, they know what to do. That should be a simple and basic responsibility of any govt.

She is a great Alumnus.

She did it for humanity. The University Community will be remembering her for a long period.

I remembered vividly during the Military era, there was a Minister of Education an Alumnus of University of Ibadan who later became the first Vice Chancellor in another University. He opposed UI fervently to the extent it became a battle on the pages of Newspapers.

That was a bad Alumnus. A good River never forget its source.
