Two accounts are raising suspicions after placing major bets on Bitcoin collapsing just before Trump's announcement. It is unclear whether the accounts belong to multiple people or just one single trader.

The risky investments yielded these unnamed traders, who some have speculated online to be 'Trump insiders,' around $160 million.

On the day before the market-moving tariff news, $80 million was deposited into an account that bet on the price of Bitcoin falling.

Roughly 12 hours later, around 3am on the day of the announcement, another $30 million was deposited into a second account with a similar strategy betting against crypto prices, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis.

The identity of the trader or traders still remains unknown.

Insider trading carries a maximum fine of up to $5 million and a 20-year prison sentence.
