MSGAMBLE9:
EFL cup? You know how much Chelsea (even with their 3rd tier Conference League) and United fans ( with Ten Hag) always trolled us with finishing trophyless with 2nd place medals grin grin grin... The season you talked about losing the title to Chelsea, they have 2 games on us and all they need is our loss to WestHam ( e still pain me)... He's the reason Chelsea are not cleaning domestically which they did comfortably last season

On the fact that Renee used the same team to win UWCL, don't forget he led the same team to semis losing to Wolfsburg in 119 mins to Lotte infamous back pass (without Leah, Meidema, Mead, Foord all to ACL)... The templates to challenge for Cup has always been there with him buh he doesn't have the squad to challenge Chelsea for the League... He scouted and requested for Kanerdy, Walsh, Girma, Macario from the Club, all whom Chelsea snatched at last minute from them

Look at this team now, we won the CL but they failed to improve any of the team departments except for the wing ( Smith), they ignored the DM, CB despite knowing that Williamson would be out still December, who does that?

They're not ready to challenge Chelsea for now
My point is sleger will do better than him if given resources I actually thought the board will invest a lot in the team ons of the reasons I didn't want them to loan agyemang
The midfield is also old with tired legs, if city lose tonight
They should crown Chelsea winner by January because no one will catch up with them

We need to start getting creative with protecting players like Timber and Calafiori from their National team. Timber has been incredible this season, one of the best RB if you ask me.

At least he played him 61 minutes today but that is still a lot considering he played 90 against Malta on Thursday. Hopefully, he is good and fresh for Saturday. We need to beg Heinze to take an easy as the guys dey return from National team.

The rough play heinze have with these guys, he should just limit it to MLS Rice went out injured in our last match only for him to resume duty for England

We have a squad that can hardly be matched by any team in Europe. And we haven't even played our full squad yet like Havertz and Jesus haven't kicked a ball

We should be winning like 3 trophies this season including at least one major one (PL or CL).

I doubt She will do anything buh better, this is her team now she has simply coached Jonas aggressive forward pressing out of them and they look horrible right now... They can't pass, press or control games, very slow in build up and she seems to favour/ trust some select group of players... What she relied on last season was disgruntled buh highly motivated players happy to see Jonas back + elements of Luck + Marionna having time of her life...

I hoped to be prove wrong sha....

The BBC’s Sami Mokbel reports that Martin Odegaard will remain sidelined with a knee injury until after the next international break ( in November)

The news means Odegaard will miss Premier League games against Fulham, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Sunderland, as well as Champions League matches against Atletico Madrid and Slavia Prague - BBC Sports

This is sad......He will be aiming for Spurs tie undecided undecided embarassed

Honestly, I'd rather we don't rush him back. While we will miss him, especially now that he seems to have found some form, it is better he recovers fully and can be back for the 2nd half of the season. We have Eze/ Nwaneri who can provide good cover.

Play him as cf then
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by daveP(m): 10:21pm On Oct 14, 2025
I have a thought

Mikel Merino and Gyokores can't be on the pitch at the same time

Both are on default finishing mindsets. They repel. Mikel will not drop his own instincts to make Gyokeres flourish. Gyokores can't act like Merino is the main man

Merino no go focus or flourish in midfield duties without that false 9 mode popping up. Not necessary for attack, but a minus for midfield.

I don't understand this analysis bro, I thought he is a defensive?. If we complain about playing defensive game whenever he starts, how then does this analysis align?.

I don't get you. What i wrote is clear now. Based on instincts towards goal.

i know he have this mentality of going forward and scoring, it is evident in his pressing and passing. He's a Sergio Busquets kind of player(personal opinion), but whenever he starts in midfield in Arsenal games, we cry about how Arteta is going defensive. He's job is not primarily to create loads of chances from the middle, but to block spaces, intercept balls, tackle and progress play. If he finds himself in the box he knows how to shoot but that can't limit Gyokeres output. He scores more for Spain because their forwards drop and create chances for him to attack empty spaces.

he attacks spaces created by the forwards when they drop, but i don'tthink he plays the SS role for them( i might have to some of spain games later to have more insight shaa).. He does that too in Arsenal sometimes, that bilbao ucl is an example.

he doesn't act conscious of the presence of the 9 when he's attacking. Zubi is more conscious of that imo. Ao the two starting just hampers the team overall. It's that spain set up that gives him that responsibility to score. But at arsenal, responsibility is no longer his cos the system is different. It's not working at Arsenal and he's not flourishing in midfield beside his fellow midfielders. He will flourish if the setup is the Spanish setup and that's even for more tactical games.

you're right, it's the system. If he play in the midfield with Kai as cf you will see him scoring or being a major goal threat because unlike Gyokeres who drags defenders back to their box, kai drags them out of the box which will open up for him to run in and attack. The Liverpool game this season for example, he would have been more effective.
