In this era, prepaid should be made mandatory. Whoever that is still using postpaid is shorting himself.

The reason why most places don't have light is because most of the houses don't have prepaid meters, thereby making the power companies not to supply power as they are supposed to because they make more by billing their customers using estimated billing system.

They can just come to your house and quote high figures of what you didn't even use.

But with prepaid meter, if the majority of the houses have that, they will have no option but to supply light on a daily basis because if they don't, they will be the ones at loss.

In the city I reside, almost all houses have prepaid meters. This makes them to supply light on a daily basis. We must have at least 5-10 hours light every day except the transformer in your area has fault.

That 5-10 hours light is sure every day because if they don't bring the light, my meter won't count. Who will be at loss in the end? It's them. So this makes them to at least supply 5-10 hours light every day.

Like today now, they already supplied 8 hours light. On Sunday, they supplied 10 hours. On Monday they supplied us 5 hours light.

But we must see light every day. That's the advantage of majority of houses having prepaid meters. It will force them to supply consistent power on a daily basis.

The 5k I recharged since April is what I am still using till now.

Get your prepaid meter. Prepaid meters are available. Go and apply for yours. It's stinginess that is still making some people not to apply for prepaid meter.

Instead of crying over the bogus and exorbitant estimated billing by power companies, why not get a prepaid meter? It's between 150k to 200k depending on the number of phase.

Save yourself the incessant over estimated billings. Apply for a prepaid meter.

My advice to Abia people is to go solar if you can. Solar is the real game changer. I use solar at home and in my offices, I don't know what power outage is like or running generators.
A 45kw to 60kw battery can run most mansions, don't expect Alex Otti to solve Enugu Disco issues

Prepaid and postpaid give same thing, you pay for what you consume.
I can remember vividly that when we were under postpaid, sometimes our bills come with CR, which means we overpaid the last time and we didn't have to pay anything for the next month.

But for estimated billing, you will pay everymonth for darkness too.

You are also right. But wages are very low and there is less incentive to work.

It’s a lie that paying someone 150k instead of a paltry 70k will cause inflation. Someone paying his gateman 30k while owning 200million house and cars cannot tell us paying him 100k will cause inflation.

Minimuum wage was 30k before, government increased to 77k, ask yourself, has it caused inflation to increase?

There are threshold limits, and I don’t think we’ve pushed to the threshold yet for salaries and wages.
