₦10 billion donation from a former militant? That’s not small money at all. It really shows how blurred the lines between government and private security have become in Nigeria. The same people who once fought the system are now funding it, life has truly come full circle in the Niger Delta.

Tompolo just proved again that in Nigeria, if you fight the government long enough, they’ll eventually pay you to protect them. But to be fair, at least he’s putting something back into society, how many politicians can boast of that?

Still, let’s be honest this is basically taxpayers’ money recycled through federal contracts. The bigger question is when will we build a system where generosity doesn’t depend on government-favored contractors?

Look at what the country has turned to... A den of theives.

For your reminder, it was Goatluck Jonathan who negotiated peace deals with militants that Olusegun Obasanjo dealt with mercilessly when he was President. Goatluck negotiated peace deal when he was Yar'Adua's VP. It was Goatluck that recommended the allocation of security contracts to militants and it has remained since then. This is the first and main out of the many reasons why the Northern Oligarchy groomed and funded by the Northern Bandits to also get contracts from the federal government
