It show how simple minded people are. They are just playing to the gallery.

Let me tell you some things legislators know for a fact..after all they are the ones who make the laws.

1) no state will be created but their constituents will reward them for fighting for a new state
2) the judiciary is independent and CANNOT intervene in an ongoing trial.
3) being seen to support Kanu helps SE legislators in the eyes of their voters, it doesn’t cost the rest of them to do them that favour and call on that good turn when they need them.
4) a lot of them (SE politicians) don’t want him out but it is politically expedient to seem to be fighting for his release.
5) Kanu is a threat to SE politicians, do you think they want someone of his stature out? Ordinary Obi is giving them headache and has taken their shine!
6) there are a few who may be sincere but I can guarantee you a lot of them don’t want him out and are happy where he is they just don’t want to appear not to be doing anything or take the blame when he is convicted.
7) why would a SE political leader want to release Kanu who will come out and be bigger than him…..who may even come out and say the people should not vote for him?

The smaller politicians trying to make a name for themselves may want to use him for clout but why would the big SE politician want an uncontrollable man released that will diminish my influence in the politics of the region? Ordinary Obi has diminished their power and influence in the SE, you now think they will support the release of a man bigger than Obi? Do you know how embarrassing it is for a politician not to be able to deliver his state nationally? No SE politician delivered for his party in the presidential elections of 2023, now imagine if they had to contend with Kanu as well as Obi? Why is Akpabio senate president and not Orji Kalu? Why is the SE deputy speaker? Because they couldn’t deliver SE votes!! Think about that for a second!

If after pondering that you still believe The powerful SE politicians want Kanu released, then I have a bridge in Ikoyi for sale at a good price.
