 My first time eating ewedu The face was disgusting but the taste was superb My then Yoruba babe during my NYSC called me to have my share of amala served with ewedu soup and that was my first time seeing that stuff. That's a specially made short kitchen utensil called "IJABE" (NOT a broom) by the Yoruba folks for blending ewedu soup or okro soup for centuries now [in the absence of the more recent electric blender device] and it's made from the raffia palm tree. The one for sweeping the floor is called "IGBALE" by the Yoruba folks who aren't stupid to use a broom used for sweeping the floor for culinary activities in a pot of soup. People still use the stone grinders today in various parts of Asia, Africa, and Nigeria, for milling grains and blending peppers, tomatoes, etc, in the absence of electricity. Would you consider these folks primitive and refuse to eat what they've cooked?
