Nominated Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has proposed the use of drones to monitor elections.

Amupitan made the remark on Thursday while answering a question put forward to him by the lawmaker representing Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

Senator Kalu, who was worried over the deteriorating security situation in the country, asked what Amupitan would do to ensure that sensitive election materials are safely transported to polling units.

Drones won't work

No matter how hard we try, replace Amupitan with God, or with the UN...there would be people who will cry 'Election was rigged' and present 'proof' of the rigging.

Yakubu did not dash hopes of Nigerians, Atiku and Obi, by failing to unite , dashed hopes of NIgerians. Had they united, Tinubu would be at his retirement home in Lagos right now.

I stopped believing in rigging in nigerian elections for a long time now...since 2003. You have people complaining of the PDP, and APC, and when you inform them you voted for a party like Sowore;s party or other smaller parties, dem go laugh at you and call your vote wasted vote.

Also consider electronic voting which will reduce and stop manipulation of election results, snatching of ballot boxes, rigging and make election to be free and fair

He should stop making hyped promises and get down to business. That was how the other guy promised all kinds of changes only to end up making things worse.

My advice to all political parties is to have enough well trained and trusted polling units agents in all the polling booths.

Drone will do nothing special, he should be working on electronic voting online with the use of national Id card or so, to encourage more Nigerians participation in our voting process. Many people have been caught manipulating voting process and results on camera on several occasions but eventually they walk out freely, what d drones are going to do are no much different from what our phones have been doing.
