There are people who are reformed after been confined so this hullabaloo shouldn't arise .
We shouldn't politicize everything in this Country , God pardon Saul despite his atrocities and why shouldn't we Humans do same?

Why is this message coming out now they should have done the rearrest first before posting this type of message because most of the people they pardon may have slipped out of the country as we speak

Then why did you referred to Yardua, why didn't you referred to Gej or obj why the word "Yardua said same thing"?
Nothing. He was a humble man who knew the brevity of life and made constant reference to it. That is wisdom and humility. Not the ones that will boast that someone will rule us no matter what till whenever. As if its his birthright and as if tomorrow is promised to anyone.

Flipflops. This should have been done before presenting them to the council of state for approval. Fagbemi should spare us all these explanations and admit that he failed the system. I hope the review is properly done and those criminals and drugees are removed from that list.
How do you justify the release of a kidnaper, a drug dealer and a murderer. So shameful.
I also believe the NSA should investigate how some of those names made the list, those found to have abused the system should be prosecuted.
I don't just get it. Someone failed to do their job. The audacity of Fagbemi trying to gaslight the whole country! This is very shameful. I hope PBAT deals with this rubbish decisively.

Where is justice for the young man that was premeditatedly slaughtered by his wife and convicted in the court of law for murder. They say because of the 2 children. What about her denying their father being alive to his children.... Nonsense government.

I absolutely love how you dissected the whole issue without bias.

A list was approved and the president signed off on it. It should have been given to the review committee BEFORE THE PUBLIC WILL SEE IT.

I run a couple of companies and when I review my memos years later, I wonder if I had been drunk when I wrote many of them.

Obviously, they were written in anger, delusional fervor, spiritual highness or compassion for someone in pain.

Why these memos have not killed me is because they first go to my crazy team who know I am crazy. They wait a few days and cancel my absurd instructions.

In politics, I guess their crazy team is actually CRAZY.
Exactly! In your business, your “crazy team” keeps you from sabotaging yourself. In our government, those who should be doing the work often act recklessly or stay silent as things spiral out of control (the typical I-don’t-care attitude). For this administration (especially given how high the stakes are and how low public trust is), every decision should be carefully considered, yet there have been several missteps. It’s frustrating that people have to keep raising alarms for the right things to be done.

You are wrong. Nothing like national embarrassment. People like you shouted same national embarrassment during obj, same dring Gej, same during Buhari and now una no dey rest?

The list has not be signed out only names were listed whereas dangerous criminals names were sneaked in by some criminals but as usual obidient twisted the whole thing and turned it another ball game, however, we know them and we don't really care.

Show me a single person out of all those criminals listed who as be release or walking freely in the street? None yet.

I expect an intelligent people to weigh te whole thing and make a responsible contribution but in Nigeria no way.

Anyway, called it anything Tinubu is your president till 2031. I remember the worst obj enemy were from the South, the worst enemy of Gej were from the South and now people like you who are hell bent on Tinubu are 99% from the South, pls na curse?

Na wah ooo
Chaii, una shame dey shame me, Imagine ur talk. Names of dangerous criminals were smeaked in by criminaals for Tinubu a sitting president to accent to. Chaiii, you people even make a fool of PBAT in your defence. With all the aecurity and intelligent apparatus at his disposal, still criminals can be aneaked in for him. Chaii. See people am sharing xountry with.

Imagine the excuse ( low level officers smuggled in the names).
And those officers don’t have names and why are they not arrested for investigation to identify who they are working for ?

The freedom of this country is near. The old oligarch generation era will soon be over.

This era belongs to the Genzs who question a lot and what even gives them that much power is the support of technology that your lost generation of oligarch has zero understanding of.

Enjoy your nepotism and corrupt filled hateful agenda while it last. Useless leaders. Thinking they are speaking to animals.
I honestly think the federal government is just trying to save face and do damage control.

The whole story about the presidential pardon is embarrassing, frivolous and provoking.

It communicates that the federal government under Tinubu is insensitive and less caring about crime fighting.

The Minister of Justice is trying to exonerate himself even when the article say the Presidential Advisory Committee which he (Minister of Justice) chairs compiled the list and sent to the Council of State for approval. To the extent that the approval of the council of state was given.

This is an indictment on the office of the minister of justice. Was the minister or ministry bribed, perverted or compromised to have names of convicted Drug Barrons, Kidnappers, Illegal Fire Arms Dealers and Husband Killer (Someone who deliberately committed homicide and murdered her husband in cold blood - stabbed him multiple times while he was trying to sleep defenseless - what a wicked and premeditated way to kill a human who is the father of your kids). She was sentenced to death and some irresponsible officers and federal government still left her in prison till date for over 4 years without executing the death sentence judgement. So they were actually strategizing over the years to get her released.

As much as I avoid to irresponsibly criticize President Tinubu's government. I could not but pick up some issues with the government and this is one annoying and clear issue of misrule, disrespect of the law and insult to the sensitivity of the citizens.

Why do we have a justice system then? What is the essence of law if some will violate the law and get away with it even in cases where resources have been spent to prosecute them and sentence them, some ridiculous political government will wake up tomorrow and grant senseless presidential or governors clemency to them. Do you know how many officers died or risked their lives to apprehend these criminals and get them to face Justice?

If the effort is truly aimed at decongesting the Correctional Facilities, it is public knowledge that the prison compromises about 50℅ of people awaiting trial for offenses that are even minor or less severe compared to the criminals that the president is trying to grant pardon.

This makes me feel sick.

Show proof. Trump is erratic and he was elected based on his erraticism. But you see in sharpness of mind, he's miles ahead of tinubu who compromised his mental capacity very early in life with bad lifestyle choices.

How can the attorney general tell Nigerians a list all reviewed and announced by the president would be reviewed? Isn't that very disrespectful and disturbing? What else have these guys signed that would hunt this nation sooner or later?

There is absolutely nothing wrong if a government rescinds a decision that is hitherto unpopular......it takes a man to make a mistake and own up to it......if the govt is willing to review the clemency imbroglio,it should be welcomed and encouraged.....we need not okay politics with everything......isreal had to apologize for killing hamas members on qatari soil and heavens did not fall but you are so quick to lampoon your own to make us all look like we are the worst country on earth.
^^^
undecided

No.

Stop playing these games.

It isn't an issue of rescinding an 'unpopular' decision. There are people being paid big salaries to make sure this sort of presidential pardon list nonsense never happens. But it keeps happening with BAT all the time. Stop making excuses for rank incompetence or corruption - or both.

A federal minister recently resigned over an offence that would land ordinary Nigerians in jail if they tried what he did. And yet that minister passed through 'vetting' and 'screening' by all sorts of so called security and intelligence agencies before he became a member of BAT's cabinet. What message is being sent? undecided

There is no point in having such a large federal bureaucracy that is shockingly incompetent at best or downright rotten at worst. How do these agencies all claim to work so hard and such shockingly poor decisions are the final output? What's the point?

Some of us have been warning for years about the importance of building our institutions. The powers that be...are deaf - as usual. Until...its too late.

Nigeria may not be the worst country on earth but she is surely trying with all her might to get that title.

You didn’t criticize the Tinubu government irresponsibly. What you said here is the reflection and deserving response to the reality of our sick society.

What the presidential pardon saga further confirmed is that banditry going on in the country is directly orchestrated and organised by the oligarchs in power. That’s why they wanted to have those hardened criminals who worked for them released.

There are suspects awaiting trial for 20 years in detention. They didn’t see those ones to grant presidential pardon.

That’s why I won’t join anyone in fighting that Arise Tv journalist’s behaviour or call it unruly.

He who wants equity must come to equity with clean hands. You can’t be disorganised and exhume zero accountability in all that you do but expect me to treat you with respect.

They are butterflies that think they are birds. Like I mentioned before, it’s a matter of time, their time will soon be up.

And thanks to technology, it’s their greatest undoing.

They are unable to regulate so many things maliciously the youths are doing to support their evil agendas because they have zero education about how these thing called technology works.

Their agenda in case many of you don’t know is to keep Nigerian youths in perpetual darkness which will leave oligarchs with the freedom to exploit resources all they want.

And that’s what you just saw play out from the senseless excuse behind the presidential pardon news. They already profile Nigerian youths as spineless and in the class of low animals who have zero capability to pass as a standard human being.

The oligarchs are who we have as leaders of this country and they are the most evil human that ever graced the surface of this earth.

They announced that a minister of finance was hospitalised and was flown abroad. And they had the audacity to make such shameful statement.

They have no feelings on how an average Nigerians process their publications. They just take unilateral actions with zero sense.

I will employ my fellow Nigerian youths- that’s those who are not yet politically and socially sick , to take technology seriously as that’s the only way to their freedom.

Maryam Sanda's case will definitely undermine confidence in the justice system.

Which one is "she has two children who would become orphans"? Is that not a thought she should have considered herself?

Is the Federal Govt telling women go on killing spree, that is okay to kill their husbands once they have children, you'd walk free?

Even if it was Bilyaminu's father that killed him, he'd be made to face justice too. The fact that he has forgiven her is utter bullocks and inconsequential. That Baba is a politician, he may have concluded on a "deal" with Sanda's father.

Maryam Sanda should be an example on what anger can do to a person and a reminder on the sanctity of human life. Her case will definitely undermine confidence in the justice system.
I honestly think her inclusion in the list is what is causing so much public outcry.
