This is a very bad defense point. The state took 4 years to cover its asss against injunctions a private citizen might bring against her?
Haba!
Perhaps it's due to the illegal means through which he was renditioned. Because normally no state should be scared to the extent of covering her asss from injunction for 4 years.
What if the case is now Nigeria vs Another Country? How many years will we use to cover our asss?
I am not a lawyer nor a judge. I am sure those handling the case are following the letter of the law. So lets wait for them to conclude all legal process even if it takes time

Its better to take time than for an innocent to be convicted or guilty be set free

So if Satanyahu wakes up tomorrow and says Nigeria was promised to Israelis 3000 years ago and they want to push Nigerians into Niger, Benin, Cameroon for starters and take over Nigeria.

Then they proceed to kill or maim 23 million Nigerians (10% of our population), you will also accept money and weapons from Israel to kill your fellow Nigerians?

-Lord
Ife and Oyo were arguing the other day about who was superior. And Ife's claim was that they originated from Oduduwa. You accepted right?

Lagos was not the seat of power and it was not the only place protest was happening in Nigeria,if he wanted disintegration,he could have backed the protest happening in Abuja more with burn this and that over there...

Ighoho didn't do hate speech on radio, deriding other tribes and calling for the brutal murders of the nation's security personnels...That is the clear and big difference spy
Igboho spoke against the Fulanis. Let's not argue that.

Again, I said what happened during the Endsars was more like someone taking advantage of a situation. The same way some called for End of bad governance and even threatened a revolution like Sowore.

We can't be denying everything now like we were kids then.

Lmao, spy don't do this...There is a big difference, what has his agitations got to do with Lagos and the surrounding regions around the South East....
If one term can describe them 'agitators, secessionists or separatists' then they are same

Nnamdi has not been convicted, so what would he be pardoned for when its still likely he gets released as innocent
Didn't the Appeal court release him or not?

It's clear that Kanu's case is political and he is being held for political reasons not criminal.

You cannot arrest someone who didn't commit a crime in your country.

Any amount you make more than 800k the first 800k is also tax exempt.

So if you make 1m, you only pay tax on 200k

Yeah the bail was in 2017 but since he was arrested and brought back to Nigeria in 2021, no judge has granted him bail.
What about this BBC report in 2022?

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-63241555

I read through it and what I could sense from it was that the appeal court nullified and declared the process of his rendition to Nigeria as illegal and no real trial can take place from that illegality.

Malami the AGF seemed to speaking Buhari's mind by insisting they won't release him despite the court ruling.

Personally I think Buhari and his (ill)advisers messed up the case and dumped the bad case on Tinubu's government who have not really made any headway from the problem they inherited.

Another Appeal court judge granted a stay of execution on the judgment and Kanu lawyers appealed to the Supreme Court. The supreme court ruled in December 2023 that the trial should continue and squash the appeal court judgement.

Oh, okay. So FG pursued the case down to supreme court and had the appeal court case overturned.

But our judicial process is slow Sha. Someone was arrested in and it was in 2023 the supreme court just decided on the case on his method of arrest.

In 2025 the prosecution is still yet to establish and close their case against him.

Don't forget our mannequin ex-president disobeyed court orders on this case too

I'm not sure about this oo. The last time Kanu was in court, they are arguing about bail based on Kanu health conditions, the judge was going to rule on that so the substantial case can start, I don't know if there has been a ruling
There was actually a ruling in 2022 and he was suppose to be let go but the government refused. Even in Kenya the ruling was also in his favor..... basically Nigeria has no jurisdiction to prosecute him as they didn't take him from Kenya legally.

That is because his case was complex, he was first arrested in 2017, he jumped bail, committed more crimes while on the run then having to be tried for the initial crimes, jumping bail and new crimes committed

The Justice system failed by not holding his guarantors liable like they should making a joke of the exercise cos flouting laws now had no consequence
You mean after the military raided his home to kidnap him?

That is not a reason to jump bail. If the military comes then he should submit himself to them and follow the process

That's enough reason to run for your safety especially without a court order.

Supreme court also contradicted itself as in another case they stated " the Supreme Court’s decision in Dikko v. State (2016), where the court held that “once a trial is declared a nullity, the accused stands discharged and acquitted; the matter cannot be reopened to his detriment.”

Check my last post to BlueRay, the Supreme Court already ruled that the extradition cannot stop the trial from going on in 2023, that's why the case is continuing.

I doubt Kenya court has jurisdiction over crimes committed in Nigeria.

The 2023 verdict will take precedent over the 2016 verdict going forward. It's nothing new, the Supreme Court has reversed itself several times.

Which is against the constitution and against precedent. This is Nnamdi kanu lawyers argument and it holds up. Even the appeal court knew that.

The 2023 verdict has no legal ground to stand on or past precedent according to kanu lawyers and international law.

There's a reason why Kanu lawyers are mere solicitors while the Justice of the Supreme Court are there.

Level pass level. Because Kanu lawyers said so doesn't mean it is so.

The supreme court also agrees going by their judgement on a past case.
