franchasofficia:
If Bola Tinubu can stand on a campaign podium in Enugu and tell Igbos that he does not need Southeast votes but that if Igbos wants to share in the pot of the national soup that they should better work for him politically to get something or else nothing for them. In a democratic dispensation.

If Buhari the President of Nigeria can go on an international visit before the whole world and call Southeast/Igbos 5% that doesn't deserve equal government attention with the rest of Nigerians and also called Southeast a dot in a circle without shame or remorse, then there is nothing bad in Charlie Boy a retired entertainer entertaining you Nigerians with what he wrote or quoted on x!

Two can play the game, bring it on, no lele shocked
You still do not get it.. No one is begrudging Charlie Boy his right to express his right of ethnic bigotry in public. But for a 75 yr-old man to hide shamelessly behind a fake Danjuma quote instead of embracing his ethnic prejudice bias and leanings with his full chest in a post ironically talking about courage should be the greatest act of cowardice ever seen.

Anyway, it aligns with the behavioural pattern of a full-grown man who would hide under the skirt of his wife every Monday because of the fear of the directive of his fellow man from faraway Finland..
Re: Charly Boy Shares Bigoted Statement Flasely Credited To TY Danjuma by Awoleesu(m):
I'm not tribalistic, not Igbo. In fact, I am a bona fide Yoruba, albeit a refined one (as I earlier asserted, tribalism doesn't drive my sense of judgement)...

So, in the disuse of the content of the OP but taking contextual thesis from it, I can relate well with the thesis.

Although not absolutely true, but who says stereotypes don't hold true sometimes?

That being what it is, I can confidently say I admire, respect and covet the Igbo spirit: Tenacious, enterprising, audacious and formidable. Such qualities are without mincing words, a panacea for building a strong society. However, it is not entirely apt to do a comparative analysis based solely on stereotyping. The risk we stand when we use this model is imminent: critics and cynics will come up with scenarios in history that challenge these stereotypical theories. For example, the Non-Igbo apologist may well argue that given antecedents of history, there have been a huge cache of accounts of ancient and contemporary warlords and extremely courageous characters of the Yoruba extraction, who had not only demonstrated brash courage but have indeed won battles for their belligerent party; the likes of Soun Ogunlola, Moremi Ajasoro, Olusegun Obasanjo etc. The argument would be that in the count of individual numbers or courageous characters, the Yorubas appeared to account for more of them than the Igbos. Argument may be strengthened by interpreting the retreat from war of Gen. Chukwuemeka Ojukwu in 1970 as a brazen act of cowardice. The capture and continued incarceration of MNK can also be used as a big dent on claims of an Igbo-centric courageous spirit, where his kinsmen have only resorted to mere rhetorics than a concerted mass action to secure his freedom and muddle-up the FG.

I could go on and on, but my main argument is that the Igbos are without doubt enviable fellow citizens with outstanding qualities that in my opinion, should be annotated for the greater good of the country.
I make bold to say, the tribalism and bigotry going on in the Nigerian socio-political space is an ill wind that has blown no one no good.
Perhaps we can chart a better course and emphasize the individual strengths of the federating ethnic groups while fostering economic and social prosperity thereby.

I wished Nigeria can draw lessons from some multi-ethnic, nay multi-racial nations that have prospered greatly notwithstanding the physical and psychological differences of their citizens. Take for example, Mauritius, a barely visible Offshore African small island country, a mix of about 4 different races, yet making waves of strong and virile records of development and prosperity.
Re: Charly Boy Shares Bigoted Statement Flasely Credited To TY Danjuma by Dhury: 6:45am On Oct 19, 2025
Such a statement is both misleading and harmful to national unity. It suggests that one ethnic group is inherently wiser than another, which is not only incorrect but also promotes tribal prejudice. No tribe has a monopoly on intelligence or insight; every ethnic group in Nigeria has produced outstanding minds and leaders. Remarks like this should be condemned, as they deepen division instead of fostering respect and cohesion among our people.

And I must add that the yorubas aren't courageous like the great Igbos and that explains why they say "Yes" to anything that the northeners tell them.

The only problem you have with the Yorubas is the feel of their superiority, meanwhile every thing doesn't need to be competition.

In the history of Nigeria, a quick check on those who have stood against the excesses of power/government as individuals showed 80% to 90% have been of Yoruba descents. Are these the ones you call cowards?

They never chickened out like some other self acclaimed leaders.

A figure like Kanu, Ekpa cannot manipulate the Yorubas, like they did to the Igbos. That's how smart they are. Yorubas don't do things with emotions, but well thought thru and carefully plan, and that's the difference. Yorubas are not loud mouths and are always Ten steps ahead.

This is a quick check about activism in Nigeria. Are there no Igbos in Nigeria despite the claim of speaking the truth? They are the real cowards.

Early activists and the independence movement

Herbert Macaulay (1864–1946):

Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti (1900–1978): A pioneer of women's rights and a fierce anti-colonialist, she mobilized women to protest unfair colonial taxation and founded the Abeokuta Women's Union, which at its peak had 20,000 members.

Margaret Ekpo (1914–2006): A prominent anti-colonial and women's rights activist, she organized market women to advocate for their political and economic rights and worked alongside Ransome-Kuti to protest injustices.

Hajia Gambo Sawaba (1933–2001): As one of northern Nigeria's few female activists in the mid-20th century, she campaigned against child marriage, forced labor, and restrictions on women's education and political participation.

Anthony Enahoro (1923–2010): A veteran journalist and activist, he is celebrated for moving the first parliamentary motion for Nigeria's independence in 1953.

Pro-democracy and human rights activists

Ken Saro-Wiwa (1941–1995): An author and environmental activist, he founded the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) to protest the environmental damage caused by oil companies in the Niger Delta. He was executed by the military government in 1995.

Gani Fawehinmi (1938–2009): Known as "the people's lawyer," he used litigation and public commentary to challenge successive military and civilian governments on issues of human rights, corruption, and social justice.

Fela Anikulapo-Kuti (1938–1997): A musician and pioneer of the Afrobeat genre, he used his music as a platform to openly criticize corruption, military rule, and social injustices. His defiance led to frequent arrests and raids on his home.

Wole Soyinka (born 1934): A Nobel Prize-winning writer and political activist, he has consistently spoken out against military dictatorship and political corruption. He was imprisoned for 22 months during the civil war for his opposition to the conflict.

Beko Ransome-Kuti (1940–2006): Following in his mother's footsteps, this medical doctor and activist was a fearless opponent of military rule and a leader in Nigeria's pro-democracy movement.

Modern-day activists

Aisha Yesufu (born 1973): A co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, she is a vocal advocate for good governance and women's rights, known for her powerful presence during protests.

Omoyele Sowore (born 1971): A human rights activist and former presidential candidate, he has been a consistent voice against government corruption and injustice, leading numerous protests.

Femi Falana (born 1958): A prominent human rights lawyer and activist, he is known for taking on cases that challenge government authority and defend the rights of ordinary citizens.

We have really gone far apart in this nation, the worst is when elites of ethnic groups who are supposed to promote love and harmony seem to be the champions of ethnic division, this poses a greater problem for the future. Elites of Yoruba and Igbos extraction need to have an introspection.

Why are the Igbos with closed or open eyes not seeing opportunities and possibilities in their region?
Why are they always trooping to Yoruba South West region for economic survival?

Igbo are intolerant to strangers
Fulani are intolerant to strangers
Hausa are intolerant to strangers
And because yoruba are very tolerant to everyone, you think is weak or cowardice, take yoruba out Nigeria equation, ...you either get a burning Nigeria or there is no Nigeria at all

I know Danjuma is angry Tinubu stopped subsidy which he Danjuma is a major beneficiary scamming the entire nation raking billion into his personal account on subsidy scam but going these way at his age I doubt it.

Another display explaining why no sensible person can respect Igbos today. Look at what a prominent Igbo is sharing.

I.e ridiculously obvious fake news my well-educated and IT-literate 12 year old child can call out easily in 60 seconds.

Yet an icon of Igbo 'enterprise', who is 75 years of age, lacks the emotional intelligence to understand his thoughtless action only shames Igbos.
And the Danjuma that said it , if he actually say so ...can never cast his vote for an igbo man to become Nigeria President...... so the statement is a minus for igbo and not a compliment
