Good and humane governance is the anti-dote to coup.
And INCLUSIVE governance. You have no idea how disgusting it is for someone to rig his way into power, with barely a marginal majority for that matter (8m votes, where his two opponents collectively polled 13m+ votes, significantly higher than him), and then proceed to pack the government full with his tribesmen and unleash one unpopular policy after the other, forming nonsense reforms. This is a recipe for disaster and it can NEVER end well for him. Never.

The presidency should be fast in implementing policies that will end the suffering of Nigerian citizens. Citizens should afford three square meals and other basic amenities. I am not in support of coup and I never envisaged such will be initiated in Nigeria again . But from all indication, I can see it's now possible......Tinubu and his government should know that, the people who planned this, will still try again and again and won't relent. He shouldn't only work on his security alone but should do things that will enhance the well being of his fellow citizens and win even the minds of people who are planning this, by breaking their ranks. If not, they will plan again through many other ways .....

The lesson is clear, fix the economy. If you don't know what to do, allow another person to try. Stop wasting our lives. Nigeriane have no business living in poverty if our leaders are not corrupt

I hate coup so much ...We don't need it in Nigeria. But let the Presidency act fast so that it won't turn to a revolution. The people that planned this, will plan another since they think they are liberating people from poverty inflicted by his administration

The shege we are seeing here makes IBB and Abacha times more of child's play.
That was how we complained about Shagari regime and embraced military rule in the 80's not knowing it was from frying pan to fire. Intelligent people won't ask for military rule in 2025 oh. You see the little progress we are making, those little little investment coming in such as the Open Ai partnership with the Unilag, those partnership that brought in Opay, Moniepoint and the local Tech companies, investment from Brazil and other nations will dry up instantly and be replaced with sanctions. For the first time in decades Nigerian youth are competing and better than South Africa in IT but military rule will destroy all that. It is ok if illiterates jubilate military take over like in Niger Republic and Chad but we are bigger than that. Unless we are planning to set Nigeria back several centuries we don't need military rule again. We are much more smarter now. Another risk is that it's almost impossible to have a military rule that won't be dominated by a region. Do you think Southern Nigeria will fold their arms again if the North kick out a southern president and start another decades of military rule like in the 90's? It will break up Nigeria almost immediately.

Any coup at this point will be the end of Nigeria. We either practice democracy or we go our way. The era of illegitimate northern rule through military coup is over.

Again, President Tinubu needs to fast track the reform of the military. The military must be decentralized with military equipment equally shared to the six regions. The era of over concentration of military weapons in the north must come to an end immediately.
Haven said this, secondly he needs to win people's mind by implementing policies that will take citizens out of hardship immediately else, it may happen again in a different way and the same citizens will be used . He needs to win the minds of people like Ibrahim Traore is doing, cos the army can't protect him alone, civilians can also play a role in doing that.

Happiest day in Iboland and for Ibos
There's no word like Ibo it's Igbo. There wasn't any coup, this is just an orchestrated plan to thwart the protest against the unjust lengthy trial of MNK without conviction or release.

So coups are now planned within just days and they wanted to execute it on 25th and they just found out a few days before the protest. Lamba everywhere!

Only 13 year olds will believe this. Ask your older siblings or parents how military rule was in Nigeria. Or probably you think it's Malians or Camerounians that will fill the military government.

Bros we will still have Open AI partnership even with it, even those that brought Opay will still be there. You are just trying to put scenarios that even you are not sure of. In Mali that there is military regime, there is still fintech and digital payments.

No, the situation is different now, the contemporary world is now all about alignment. The only reason military coup was popular then is because of foreign interest or influence.

Once there is no real interest/influence from a powerful blocs, the other sections of the country that have competitive advantages will be listen to by international community.
This is what many don't understand: not all parts of the country will support a coup

Why Military Coup Is Hard in Nigeria

I once asked a recently retired Major General in the Nigerian Army why coups no longer happen easily in Nigeria. He explained that things changed drastically after the attempted coup that nearly claimed the life of former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida.

According to him, the military intelligence system was completely overhauled after that incident. It became so advanced, sophisticated, and deeply embedded across all security units that planning or executing a coup today is almost impossible without being detected early.

That’s why, since that time, Nigeria hasn’t witnessed a single successful coup.

He said Babangida called Abacha to save him that it was Abacha that saved him from the shame and what later happened was agreement between him and Abacha.

Say Babangida was under one underground road at Dodan Barracks Lagos that the Military already took over and Abacha sent thousands of troops from outside to come in when he sent save our soul to Abacha

After the coup, Babangida immediately took FCT to North where he feels safer .
Tinubu can run it to Lagos where he feels safer too.

@Ditari of Ijaw.
No human or spirit can remove Tinubu from office. Tinubu won't run away from Abuja like IBB that ran away from Lagos. Tinubu is not moved by their shenanigans. With the nonsense that the Northern Oligarchy is trying, Tinubu might just handover to a Yoruba man from Kwara or Kogi as President in 2031 to take the slot of the North Central. They will cry blood
