Hard fought win. We looked out of rhythm, maybe because of the international break but we got the needed result.

I will take the W!

It's becoming daily routine for our defence line, I was never scared we will see the game through or not unlike wengay days our comic defense will commit

aje.. no much panicking. Our players really needs rest but then we have ucl mid week cry hope they recover quickly cus today showed every single one of them needs to rest. Calafiori keeps showing he's elite. Aside the goal trossard scored, he wasn't in shape at all.

personally I think Gyokeres is being rushed because of Kai unavailability. But that isn't an excuse for his constant misses. He hustle for the balls but ends up missing most times. His time will come shaa.

Saka should have left when the tackles on him became too much, but we know our coach. Martinelli should have come in sooner for trossard. Regardless, happy for the win. Na this consistency of seeing games off even in our bad days that we have always lacked when it mattered the previous seasons.

onto Athletico Madrid next. The good thing about today is that 3 out of the 4 games we lost last season, we have already won this season. Make we just dey win dey go, e no go bad if my January we are points ahead and have the league in our hands like 2023 season.

There's this thing our players do. We go recover ball kon dey turn round make they recover. undecided
Space to attack dey o. Numerical advantage dey o. Yet instead of progress, you turn back and give ball to Gabu. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Happened a dozen times this game. Gyokores go just dey run for nothing. I also noticed that Trossard seems to be the most intentional about connecting with Gyokores directly.

How did Cala end up as 9 for that offside goal sef😂😂😂😭😭😭😭

We dropped points las season, right. Now it's all 3points but hard fought 1-0. I'll take it. I hope same happens with those other teams that we dropped valuable points at their grounds.

Forest
Newcastle
Fulham
All sweet

Over to Villa, Everton and Chelsea

That record of consecutive games without a shot on target all 90mins is overwhelming to note. If our attack just wake up lasan, nasoso clean sheets go dey sup.

Baba wan use Merino vs Atletico. That's the game plan. 😅

We need to start scoring well to complement the defence

A time on the bench can help him psychologically. He can come up as a sub once or twice. It will afford him some time to assess his opponent before hitting them. It will also allow the pressure ease off.

Getting to start every game all season can be overwhelming

your thought is actually realistic. Maybe Merino starts up front and then he comes in as a sub with tiring defenders to bully and drag. It will open up more chances for him and lift his moral. The pressure of not scoring is getting to him, the team and coach needs to handle it the best way. Can we get up to 30 wins in epl dis season?, it'd be our highest win rate if we can do it. With less than 5 draws and less than 5 losses. It's funny that everyone that said our major attacking liability for two previous seasons was the cf position suddenly isn't saying anything now that we have a natural striker and he isn't even the one winning us games. After match day 8 we have scored more goals than we did last season, and we have more than abi exactly 10 different scorers this season already. The same system that they argued would generate us more goals if we had a natural striker, now the narrative have changed that we need to adapt to Gyokeres system of play. Make we dey watch shaa.

Whats your take on Eze's performance as a #10?

I feel he is struggling in that role
I’d give it more time. It is not an unfamiliar role for him but the tactic is distinctively different in comparison. He has shown flashes of it.

Also, under Artera’s style he has to work hard defensively, something he didn’t have to worry about at Palace. Another is, he isn’t necessarily a ball carrier from deep but we are asking him to come deep to create.

I believe he will be fine. He also needs to understand that Arteta isn’t going to build his style around him as long as Omo Ologo is on the pitch.

Eze will need to adapt and adapt fast. I’ve always been skeptical about his ability despite the hype surrounding his signature.

But just like any other signing so far, from Gyokeres, to Isak to Wirtz, they’ll need to adjust to the system they find themselves.

If he doesn’t adapt fast, I forsee fans turning on him if we do have a bad string of games (God forbid).

He looked lost yesterday, maybe it’s Fatigue or something. I hope he comes through for our match against Athletico.

Also, Arteta is becoming more mature in his in game management. I like that for him.

The referee just gave a booking to Amad for a tackle against Gakpo.

He cleared the ball quite alright but was still booked.

Now the commentator was asking where was Amad supposed to go after clearing the ball and why was he booked. It was a clearance.

My question is, if the argument is that, if you touch the ball before contact, it’s not a foul, why did the ref deem Amads challenge to be foul?

It’s this inconsistency that annoys people.
