We Must Fast, Pray To Avert Looming Disaster — Ojikutu by ogododo(op): 8:28pm On Oct 19, 2025
The first elected female Deputy Governor in Nigeria, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu, has declared October 23, 2025—the day she turns 80—as a day of fasting, prayer, and sobriety, urging global supplication for survival and sustenance.

Ojikutu said the day should also be dedicated to showing love and compassion to the deprived and less privileged in society.

In a statement to commemorate her 80th birthday anniversary, the former Lagos State Deputy Governor said a divine revelation had impressed upon her the need for collective fasting and prayers to reduce the hardships brought about by the global economic downturn.

According to her, the current wave of acute hardship demands that people seek God’s intervention to grant world leaders wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to take selfless actions, while also giving the masses discernment and a spirit of critical awareness.

Ojikutu, who is scheduled to travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, to offer prayers for her birthday and seek Allah’s mercy, urged all God-fearing people to fast and pray on her birthday to avert what she described as a looming disaster.

She further advised that fasting on her birthday would be an appropriate act of humility, given the current global situation, and requested that all intended birthday gifts be converted into support for the deprived and less privileged, with pictures of such charitable acts shared with her as symbolic birthday presents.

“The message from God is coming to me very strongly that there is a need for us to humble ourselves through fasting and prayers to ameliorate the suffering in the land,” Ojikutu said. “It’s not only in Nigeria; it’s happening across the world. Look at what is going on in America now.”

She continued: “My birthday request to all who wish to give me gifts is that such gifts should be converted to feeding and supporting the less privileged around them. Share the pictures with me as my birthday gifts.”

Ojikutu added that the revelation from God indicated that global suffering would intensify unless people fasted and prayed to avert the impending hardship.

Yoruba people should fast so the northerners don't succeed another attempt to snatch power from their brother Agbado

It seems people now freely choose when to fast , when to protest and when to keep quiet depending on who is in power

I had the same dream day before yesterday… if it should happen… Nigeria may not survive it as a country…

There is no other crises or tragedy that can shock or surprise the Igbos anymore after what they passed through between 1966 to 1970 and between 1970 to 2010 and between 2015 to today.

Igbos faced complete annihilation by a gangup of all Nigerians backed by UK/USSR/Egypt/Arab League of Nations and they survived it and still survived the over 50 years of complete marginalization and political sideline after a harsh civil war that saw them lose virtually everything they had in life.

So dear Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu, we wish you a heartfelt birthday and also want you to please make your request direct to your people that need the fasting and prayer to avert their Regional President's downfall after his glaring failure.

We Igbos wont be joining any fasting or prayer to help people who are intentionally wicked out of selfishness and lack of empathy for others.

Nigeria was never meant to be one nation if you consider our differences and views about life, but out of greed for free crude oil money and wickedness, some people have refused to accept the truth that Nigeria's diversity is a weakness and never a strength like we always pretend.

If we must advance beyond where we are, we must peacefully agree to end this forced marriage called Nigeria since we cannot allow equity, justice and fairness to be our national policy

You cannot make Igbo political marginalization, exclusion and suppression your daily prayer and expect Igbos to be patriotic and wish you well, that's delusion.

You cannot have 3 kids and intentionally decide in your wicked heart to abandon and neglect one of your child and still expect that child you despise, sideline and marginalize to wish you well, it's not possible, the child will only be praying for your sudden death if need be since you decided to be a wicked and unfortunate father.

You cannot sow corn and harvest plantain.

Nigeria can only enjoy complete patriotism from all Igbos the day Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas especially change their bad ways of always working to marginalize, outdo and sideline Igbos in national politics while using federal power and politics to corner the resources of the entire nation which they use to develop Lagos and their region while mocking Igbos at every given opportunity to go back to their region.

Nigeria is not a family of 3 children, it is a family of many children with each child fending and mending for himself.

How did Yoruba and Hausa Fuani sideline Igbo,?

Are they the one occupying the elective positions in your states?

Are they denying you your statutory allocation?

How are they using your money to develop Lagos?

Is it Igbo or Federal government that built BRT, Monorail and Water Transportation System?

What's your obsession with Lagos state,?

Where is it in the constitution that a former capital territory is Nigeria's property

It is irritating crying like a spoiled child every time of marginalization.

Your forefather merged with the North in the first Republic to control centre, were you marginalized during this period?

You staged the first coup and have been used by the subsequent military regime, were you marginalized during these period,?

You were VP during Shagari regime and was in hand in hand with the FG during 16 years of PDP rule yet you claim you are marginalized.

How exactly do you want Nigeria to treat you,?

To allowed you carry out demolition in your state but others shouldn't demolish in their states?

You sounds offensive with your marginalization and undeserved entitlement plea

More like when you arrest MNK and free terrorists killing Nigerians in different parts of the country, more like shouting that an Igbo man will never rule Nigeria, more like giving the south east over 300 as cut off mark while giving the north 2 for admission, more like militarizing the south east even before IPOB was created and there was peace in IGBO land and so on, you think having a country is a bout fighting others to prove superiority instead of peace and progress?

You sounds weird to me

Are all you listed above the. meaning of marginalization?

Shekau the leader of Boko Haram was not spared or tried, he was executed and Kanuri people never shouted marginalization.

Many bandit leaders are daily being executed, how on earth will you claim the trial of MNK amount to marginalization when he should have been killed like other terrorist leaders.

SE is not categorized as LDS so also my state, and many states in the South, but other region didn't shout marginalization because of this. And what is the essence of your legislators if they cant present it as a bil in Nass.

You mean a region who enforced Monday sit at home shouldn't be militarized, when my state who doesn't is equally militarized.

You guys are so confused and emotional if SM banter and refusal to accept your fake package candidate is what you now termed as marginalization

They don't sound like marginalisation, they sound like celebration abi?

So why did Tinubu release Miyetti Allah leader that was charged for terrorism like MNK, why have IPOB members never been granted amnesty and rehabilitation program like Boko haram and bandits?

Your argument is weak, many arrested IPOB
members have been released but there no point demanding for the release of their Leaders when they should be executed.

No one will release MNK since Adaka Boro was not released

Did you read all the news you posted, FG arrested them, charged them to court and the court declared them free because it was a wrong arrest stemmed from injustice by your Nigerian government, is that the same with your Nigerian government arresting confirmed terrorists without charging them to court and then releasing them and even paying them money as rehabilitation, sometimes even employing them into the force?

The DSS own you did not even read it, they said it was a wrong arrest, is that still the same with the terrorist being freed by your FG?

Wrong arrest is different from terrorist arrest, that's why all their cases have been failing in court, do you people read at all?

You people out of hatred will throw away common sense and logic for tribalism and irrational thinking...
