I thought they said he was at home in Nigeria?
Eating amala in Abuja simultaneously with his London art show visit.

If the devil is a liar then what is APC huh

If they are telling lies on something as simple as the sickness of a minister then what else are they not telling lies about?

seunmsg:
Meanwhile, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed to The PUNCH that the minister is receiving medical treatment in Nigeria.

“Yes, he’s indisposed. Wale Edun is about 69 years old. He suddenly fell ill. As we are talking, he is in Nigeria. He is recuperating. He’s around,” Onanuga said on Sunday evening.

Earlier, the Presidency confirmed that Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, would lead the country’s delegation to the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings in Washington, DC, starting Monday, October 13, in place of Wale Edun.

Wahala!

Were his handlers really serious about showing him or they were more interested in showing the crowd behind his back?

Even with the zero seconds glimpse shown of him, a sharp mind could deduce he suffered a stroke even though it was a mild one.

Thank God for his life. We rejoice with his family that the worse didn't happy.

Keep recuperating Mr Edun, welcome.

No matter the number of enemies who plot to kill a man or wish him dead, they do so in vain except if God says his time is up.

Wale Edun is baaaackkk... in Naira Marley's voice!

The enemies have been put to shame once again!

Chai!

What I expected to see from the comments here is how to make our health care system better but all I see is welcome back and stupeed comments. Nigerian youths have no sense indeed and is so annoying that this country can never get better.

Even from his first appearance at the art gallery show in UK, you could notice a mild limping in the very few steps the camera showed of him. Also one his hands was not hanging normal as it should. It's even needles to say I have met him one on one during his 50s, not once, not twice in the cause of my job. So even though he's aging like it's expected, the evidence of a stroke attack is glaring.

Yep, kind of sad our leaders go oversease to treat their ailments.

But it is also the fact that even if he 'went to a Nigerian hospital', it won't be to a government hospital, which are poorly funded because our tax to gdp is too low to raise enough income to make them quality and goold enough...it would be to a private hospital where fees are high and the quality is high.

It's popular to believe that 1.8 m bpd of oil revenue is enough for all of us, when in reality it isn't. Corruption also makes matters worse

We expect UK level of health on just 1-2 billion pounds...the same UK that has a higher tax to gdp, has a diversified economy, and spends 274 billion pounds on health in a year. Either we vote in a government that takes us on the road to industrialization and diversification (not APC Please o)...or we face reality.
Trash this your half baked notion, check every Budget from 1999 till date ... health is poorly funded because the govt choose to allocate more money to fund misplaced priorities. study the budget see things that get more more funded than health, rationalize it 1st
even the little Fund allocated in the budget to health, some clowwns will still loot n misappropriate the fund

The problem of Health system is not Nigeria dont have Money, the problem is basically Govt misplaced priority and corruption. if you like Tax Nigeria to drop their last blood, tax our kidney with govt mentality our health care wont get the adequate funding

Presently, the stats says we have more Revenue, while senators are collecting over 1 billion constitutency allowances and governors cashing out every month to little or no impact, how do you substantiate Tax is why out healthcare is deteiorated. the wife you dont care about will never enjoy your money no matter how God raiins blessings on you.

No nation can Tax itself to prosperity, Nigerians is abundantly blessed with resources are we exploring No... just crude and some clowns are proposing more Taxation in an underproductive economy, according to stats over 170million Nigerians are below the poverty line how is taxation gonna help
Re: Wale Edun Returns To Nigeria After UK Medical Trip (Video) by Checkwell: 7:51am On Oct 20, 2025
They will not fix the country's health care system. Always quick to travel out and get the best care from another government. But they cannot fix their Nigeria, a wealthy country. They prefer to steal the common wealth and lavish it in another country.

Okay, then enjoy the loans that tinubu takes. That's what you want.

Plus, I am not proposing we tax ourselves to prosperity by the way.

You need to " think " not just comment, even Uk that Tax like hell still take loans. Taxation wont mitigate loan

Look at countries that explore there natural resources maximally ... why is it only Nigeria among the oil producing nations that is living like an orphan

Instead of proposing govt to Tax us to death, why not remind this uselezz leaders we have resources untapped, we have resources that can fetch us forex/good revenue
Diversification is the solution to prosperity not Tax them to death,

The plans and the wishes of the enemies will not stand. They are disappointed and must be having running stomach by now.

They said he's got stroke and can no longer resume duties bla bla bla.i wonder why people always jubilate at bad news.

The minister is human and can break down just like us but to now wish him death just because he's holding a high position is all shades of evil.
It was just a useless euphoria from APC!! Who the hell cares about the death or life of a finance minister? Abeg joor!

Your post does not provide the complete picture. I say this because most of our politically exposed persons (PEPs) can afford to avail of good treatment in Nigeria but choose not to do so. If you must know, well beyond the embellished accounts we are often given lies a desire to mask their underlying ailments. In short, most travel out for privacy!

To buttress my point, a lot of these PEPs check into foreign hospitals under assumed names. When it is in countries like the UK, they also go the extra length to avoid private hospitals that have Nigerian clinicians. This much I can tell you on good authority.

Look at Osinbajo's attempt to lead by example here... (image source: https://duchesshospital.com/news-center/successful-surgical-treatment-of-the-vice-president-at-the-duchess-international-hospital-ikeja)

And it still proves the bit where I stated that pep's go to private hospitals if they stay in Nigeria.

Not to the majority government hospitals
