Earlier this year, Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson was dragged almost naked off a plane after assaulting airline personnel. Peter Obi in his usual antics of reacting in a bombastic way to every national issue, released a press statement in which he said. “We must end this selective treatment of the poor or less privileged. If justice must be served, it should be served to all, and it must be served fairly." “The rule of law based on justice for all must remain the guidepost of our democracy.” Ever since #FreeNnamdiKanu movement started, Peter Obi strangely has gone silent, he appear to have suddenly lost his voice, his usually way of dominating the news cycle seem non existent, unlike the case of Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson, Peter Obi appears to have lost his strong stance on justice in calling for an end to the unjust treatment of Nnamdi Kanu. I had wondered as it was not clear to me initially as to why Peter Obi who usually loves to grace the front pages of newspapers on every national trending issue will choose to be silent and stay away from supporting the release of Nnamdi Kanu until Sowore made a revelation about it. While responding to a question asked by Seun Okinbaloye whether he reached out to Peter Obi, Sowore said, "Well, Peter Obi interestingly never got back to me. I found out two days ago that he had responded somehow, and I think it was a measured response. “He said, ‘Okay, you know, they shouldn't have arrested him.’ I think Peter Obi and his people feel like this is some kind of ‘steal the show,’ we don't want to be part of it kind of thing. But anybody who is sensible would understand that where there's injustice, you don't look at who is fighting for what is a just cause. You think about the cause.” I watched a video of his response regarding Nnamdi Kanu and all what Obi could say about it in summary was a lame response that Nnamdi Kanu should not have been arrested in the first place. Peter Obi has always portrayed himself as the face of the oppressed in Nigeria, he has on several occasions portrayed himself as someone who believes strongly in justice. It is indeed a shame that he chose to politicize joining a peaceful protest to demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu by staying away simply because he is not the one that started the movement or leading it. Just as Sowore said and I agree that "where there's injustice, you don't look at who is fighting for what is a just cause. You think about the cause". The fact that Peter Obi, an Igbo man can not rally his base to join the October 20th peaceful protest in soildarity to demand for an end to the continued injustice towards Nnamdi Kanu, shows that Peter Obi cannot be trusted. It is a confirmation of his true selfish motives that he cares more about politics than justice even when it has to do with his tribesman. Peter Obi failed Nnamdi Kanu when it mattered most.... |

I understand that Kanu had in the past spoken negatively about Peter Obi sleeping with other men. If this is another reason behind his silence over the injustice towards Nnamdi Kanu, then it shows that he is too petty to be Nigeria's president. It shows that his strong principled stance against injustice is a farce. |

Peter Obi wants to stay squarely within the law. Nnamdi Kanu’s campaign brought tragic consequences, lives lost, homes destroyed, livelihoods ruined by coerced sit-ins and unrest. Any reasonable person should avoid association with that brand of disruption. Kanu’s actions warrant severe punishment; a long custodial sentence (40–50 years) would serve as a deterrent to others who gain satisfaction from violence, theft of property, and the destruction of people’s livelihoods. |

truthera: Kanu smeared countless people, shot off wild accusations without regard for consequences, and now he’s the one behind bars while some of those he slandered are forced to beg for his release. Imagine being branded “LGBT” falsely in public and then being expected to champion the freedom of the man who ruined your reputation. If someone had lied about you like that, would you lead a protest for them? |

Peaceful protest is not illegal. Nigeria government's violent campaign against IPOB brought about tragic consequencies, destruction of lives and properties. You keep parroting the same false narrative on every thread about Nnamdi Kanu. malali: |

My answer to your question is irrelevant because I don't have an ambition to be the president of Nigeria. When you decide to become a public figure or occupy a public office like governor or vying to become a president of a country then you should be able to develop the thick skin required for the office. People will call you unprintable names and say all kinds of things about you. Peter Obi can not use that as an excuse not to support the movement to release Nnamdi Kanu if he truly believes in what he preaches regarding justice, competent principled leadership and accountability. malali: |

truthera:The kind of politics we play in this country can never bring about progress and development to this country. Successful countries all over the world didn't get there through this route we are going. The bitterness, envy, pull him down syndrome, the '' if not me, then nobody else" mentality, clannish, tribalistic, and religious bigoted mindset will only lead to collective stagnation and gloom. I just went through your profile, your moniker created in April 2025, which I believe is an alternate account. The account has been mainly passive on the forum, but all of a sudden in the passed one month, you've created over 30 topics here, all in politics session. All of these topics show your kind of person and the type of things that run through your mind on a daily, and you're supposed to be a youth. |

Nnamdi Kanu was charged for terrorism and not about what he said regarding Buhari. Nigeria's government has failed to produce a single witness to testify how Kanu was directly linked to any killings or violence in the south east. malali: |

Malali I already know your intention as you keep peddling half truths and lies against Kanu and IPOB all over this platform. You have not once called out the government for it's role over the violence and killings in the south east. Your hate won't stop the release of Nnamdi Kanu. malali: |

I am not a politician neither am I working for a politician. Is it my profile activity that is important or what i have to say? I expected you to tell me if what I said about Obi is not true. I can choose to post my opinion on any topic that I find interesting and you can choose to post yours as well. I've laid out my opinion on Peter Obi, if you are not happy then refute it objectively instead of attacking my profile. Has Peter Obi not been silent over the continued injustice towards Nnamdi Kanu by Nigeria's government? Again, I ask what has he done to help Nnamdi Kanu? HisSexcellency: |

You can keep lying to yourself. There is nothing peaceful about ipob protest. They are very violent and they used to loot people's shops and businesses. Infact it is the shop owners that used to call the police many atimes. You need to jam ipob protest on your way travelling, walahi, your heart go comot. You will see young girls climbing on top of buses and shouting on top of their voices as if they are on hard drugs. Some will even collect money forcefully from commuters. Nothing peaceful about them at all. So keep peter Obi out of your madness. He is not a terrorist, KANU is. Peter Obi is not only for the Igbos and he no dey do Biafra with you people. Peter Obi is for all Nigerians and incase you don't know, Edo state is the headquarter of the obidients and KANU is not an obidient member |

Peter Obi has proven that he is a sectional leader who seem to care more about his political gains than being a selfless defender of justice which he pretends to be. He is too petty and cowardly to be the revolutionary leader that Nigeria needs at this critical time. There is no excuse that will exonerate him over his failure to support the peaceful protest and speak against the injustice on Nnamdi Kanu his tribesman. You've accused IPOB of violence but intentional omitted the government's own side of violent conduct that triggered the crisis. I understand you are an Obidient member so your outburst in defence of Peter Obi is borne out of emotional sentiments and not based on facts. Adaisback: |

Your hate-ful utterances does not change the fact that you love injustice and your evil political oppressors. Nothing will give you more joy than to see Nnamdi Kanu killed on the alter of your hatred for i-gbo people. My only consolation is that you and your loved ones still live in Nigeria, you like other Nigerians will inherit the consequences of what Nigeria will become at the end of Tinubu's tyrannical lawless government. sreamsense: |

The fact that you called Nnamdi Kanu a terrorist only shows that you are the one that is opposed to justice not me. Next time, you want to reply always try to know the facts and not rely on sentiments/emotions. I've followed Kanu's case, do you know that ever since the case started, the government has been unable to provide a single witness to testify that Nnamdi Kanu made him or her kill someone or burn a property in any south eastern state. IPOB was never formed to be violent as it was a peaceful movement until the government decided to attack them by instituting a military violent campaign that led to the killing of over 100 people in the south east. ESN was also not formed to kill igbo people but to protect the south east states from fulani jihadist/herdsmen. I did not want to reply you initial but decided to do so just to set the record straight. If you are so pained over the killings that you attributed to IPOB, I wonder why such fake pain from you is not being extended to your government that started the violence and used it's security agents to kill over 100 people. Instead of your long writeups just say that you hate Nnamdi Kanu and you want the government to kill him. It will save you the headache and time to do other things. sreamsense: |

truthera:Any sensible neutral person that reads your submission and follow kanu case will be laughing in 3D at your ignorance. It is possible you followed the case with your eyes closed when DSS were presenting witnesses and evidences. KANU lawyer submitted no case after government closed their présentation, but court ruled in favour of government that KANU has a case to answer and that he should prepare his defense against government allegations, but instead of doing so; he was busy using Biafra kindergarten tricks to escape justice by pretending to be having serious health challenges. However, he was bursted to be lying when the court told Nigeria Medical Association to carry out all necessary tests. At the end of two weeks medical verification, it was found out mr KANU is very healthy and that the DSS health care is capable of taking care of his medical case. Mr KANU was bursted. Instead of his lawyer to be busy to be preparing for how to defend KANU from the terrorism acts, he decided to join protest. You were following the case with blind eyes because even the lawyers know he can't win this case, that was why he was playing different kinds of tricks not to get to defense level. When Dangote trailer mistakenly kill someone, you will quickly hold Dangote responsible and be asking for compensation before Dangote come up with his defense that the truck is never their own because it was never in their database. When dollar increases or falls, you will hold Tinubu responsible. Now, that the founder of no 10 terrorist founder of ipob/ESN known as KANU is refered to as terrorist because by law his ipob company limited has been designated as terrorist; you don't want people to put ipob/ESN blame on him. So, you don't know he is a terrorist, right? You saying he formed ipob/ESN with intention to protect Igbos against Fullani ...blah.blah.. is a baby and immature submission that is foreign to the law. He would be the one to take responsibility of why peaceful ipob/ESN become violent. He is the CEO of his company, all blame goes to him. He spent the donation alone and oversees all accounts, he will also take responsibility for every act of terrorism of ipob/ESN. You were misquoting laws and random human right quote you heard on radio and I was laughing at your ignorance after warning you. You better thank your star that you decided not to be at protest venue close to Sowore and KANU lawyer. You would have been in the jail with them by now, the KANU lawyer that knew constitution and law more than you must have been blowing all he knew since yesterday without any effect on police until they dragged him to court. By the time KANU brother and the lawyer leave police detention, they will not remain the same. Kanu hateful incitement, video, where he was requesting for the arms, videos where he was ordering his IPOB/ESN to kill security officers and many terrible terrorism acts are all over internet and many were given to the court as evidences, but you are talking ignorantly that KANU is not a terrorist. Your eyes will soon clear, we were warning you over that of ekpa too, he was claiming right, where is he now? Where is UK and KANU UK lawyer he was boasting before? You better humble yourself and learn and ask somebody that is more knowledgeable than you in law before you take some regrettable actions. Kanu will be found guilty, write it down. His lawyer knew before he started looking for shortcuts. If KANU did not start ESN/IPOB, would they have killed Igbo virgins? Will they have killed those the cannibalized like wild animals they are? Would it have resulted in killings of many chiefs, Ezes, and many millitary officers ? Is like you don't know the weight of case KANU is involved, your noise can never make KANU to escape justice, people he killed directly and indirectly need justice more than him. He denied them of existence. He established ipob/ESN to protect Igbo from Fullani, but at the end of the day. Ipob/ESN later killed more Igbos than Fullani. So, who carries the blame? Kanu. Ipob/ESN later started to pretend as fullani in the south east bushes kidnapping and comming out of the bush to kill innocent Igbo people travelling. And you want to exonerate such criminal from act of terrorism. When the case resumes on Thursday, you better don't close your eyes so you can learn. |

Here are the facts - Government provided witnesses but none of these witnesses testified that Nnamdi Kanu made them to kill or destroy any property. - Kanu formed ESN and wanted it recognized officially by south east governors but they refused. - Nigerian government was reported to have killed more people then IPOB during the initial stage of the conflict. It was revealed the government killed over 100 people (Mostly IPOB members) in cold blood. - IPOB was a peaceful movement until Nigeria's government instituted a violent campaign against them. - Kanu was acquitted/freed by court of appeal. Above all you've written in your long epistle, the fact still remains that you are biased and full of hate for Nnamdi Kanu as you've continued in your deliberate attempt to absolve the government of any blame even though the government instigated the violence and killed over 100 people in the south east. Your hypocrisy is clear for everyone to see. As for your insults and derogatory remarks, I don't care about that, I guess it massages your ego and makes you feel big right? truthera: I didn't bother myself reading this. Your plan is for Peter Obi to go on public protest so that he can be arrested or a stray bullet will hit him. At times I really wonder if truly one fellow country man can be someone's brother/sister. Politics has really brought out the animal in people and the Igbos should be cautious when dealing with sworn haters. |
| Re: How Peter Obi Failed Nnamdi Kanu Over Identity Politics by truthera(op): 4:58am On Oct 22, 2025 |
Hmmmm so you've accepted that peaceful protest is a crime in Nigeria that's why Obi will be arrested or shoot if he participates in one. What this means then is you agree that Nnamdi Kanu was also right all along about Nigeria been a zoo, about the injustice towards the i-gbos. I wonder why you think that zoo Nigeria will ever allow an igbo president. Why are you and the Obidients pushing Peter Obi to contest the 2027 election, believing he can win and become the president of a country where he can't even attend peaceful protest without fear of been arrested because he is an i-gbo man. So Peter Obi can easily contest in Nigeria's election without been shoot or arrested but he can't join a peaceful protest to demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu. 9japride: |
