Why You Don't Need To Fear God by Sunnyshinylight(op): 1:57pm On Oct 19, 2025
We need have no fear of GOD ALMIGHTIEST who loves us perfectly; HIS PERFECT LOVE for us eliminates all dread of what HE might do to us.

If we are afraid, it is for fear of what HE might do to us and shows that we are not fully convinced that HE really loves us.

So you see, our love for HIM comes as a result of HIS LOVING us first.

But the Bible taught us contrary to this.
The Bible emphasized on us fearing GOD.

“Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.”
— Psalms 66:16 (KJV)

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
— Ecclesiastes 12:13 (KJV)

“Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”
— Revelation 14:7 (KJV)

“Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.”
— 1 Peter 2:17 (KJV)

“But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”
— Luke 12:5 (KJV)

Why then should you say we should not fear GOD?

If you are made in the image and part of a "thing's " you are compelled to FEAR him. The fear is because you know what you are capable of.

So if you capable of something, what about whom you were made out of? You can understand what he's capable of you should be very Afraid of God instead of love

Do you know what fear is? Try study the subject fear alright. Most of you are really shallow minds and don't care about your spiritual growth.

What you have are errors in translation of men.

Fear is a spirit and is not to be operated by the children of GOD ALMIGHTIEST.

Do you realise that the scripture said...

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Scripture interpretes scripture.

Fear torments alright, the first time the word fear was used was by the first man Adam.......

"Genesis 3:9 And the LORD GOD called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself."

"I was afraid of judgement" I was so scared because I messed up with what you said I shouldn't do.

All these translations you read about saying fear the lord, fear God should have been translated respect GOD, and have reverence for THE HIGHEST.

I want to ask you a question, do you fear your parents or you respect your them, or do you rather want your children to fear you or to respect you.

THE SCRIPTURE TOLD YOU THAT FEAR HAS TORMENT, ARE YOU TORMENTED FOREVER?

Oh you'd say that's not the kind fear we're talking about, right? Fear is fear, same way death is death.

And this is the problem I'll always have with misleading doctrines like this.

You quoted:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

Do you even understand what the Scripture there is saying before ascribing it to God?
It is saying there you are not to be afraid of every forces of men and spirits! Not God!
Stop misinterpeting the Bible gallantly.

If you have ever for once seen God in your visions/dreams/revelations, you won't be here telling anyone not to fear God.

Hello? Are you there,? You didn't answer my question, alright I believe you have kids, tell them everyday.... you must fear me. Do you ever think that is what GOD ALMIGHTIEST demands from you? That you should fear HIM when HE hasn't given you the spirit of fear.?

You can't make sense to believers in Hellfire because to them FEAR is the main reason they accepted the religion they practice.
How can you convince someone that he or she shouldn't be scared of the one who will torment living creatures for all eternity?😟
The agonizing thought keeps them in constant fear each moment of their lives so it's impossible to convince them that the word translated FEAR doesn't connote agonizing thoughts.

What Bible writers meant by that word is simple to illustrate imagine yourself being a friend to the nicest, wisest, most loving and faithful person in the entire universe {Exodus 34:6} surely you will cherish such friendship than anything else. But for a change how will you feel when someone tries to persuade you into hurting your friend's feelings which may damage the friendship you've built over the years?
Surely you will FEAR never to allow such thing to happen!

That's what Bible writers meant when they use that word.

For instance God promised to raise the dead back to life and all His worshipers of ancient times strongly believe in this hope:

O that in the Grave you would conceal me, That you would hide me until your anger passes by, That you would set a time limit for me and remember me!  If a man dies, can he live again? I will wait all the days of my compulsory service Until my relief comes. You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands! Job 14:13-15

Here Job is talking about the time when God will forgive mankind and bring back Paradise which Adam and Eve lost for the benefit of His faithful and loyal friends, in fact God promised to swallow death forever {Isaiah 25:8} but what will happen to faithless and wicked people who doesn't care or have any thoughts of God? Surely the disregard they have for God will reflect in the way they speak and treat their fellow humans {Luke 6:45} will they be included in God's plan for people who cherish their relationship with God?
NO!
So while God's friends are remembered for their good deeds the wicked has no record with God therefore they will be forgotten in their graves! Psalms 9:17

This is why faithful servants of God strive to keep their relationship with God because He is the same person who declared a death sentence on mankind and the only person who can save man from such inactive state as grave! Matthew 10:28

Did you just ask me this despite all the verses I quoted in the first comment?
Are the following verses missing from your copy of the Bible?

And the Lord Jesus said the bolded. Now tell me, does that statement sound like "just respect GOD" to you?

Why then should you say we should not fear GOD?

When you fear GOD, you will be both physically and spiritually disciplined! That is what the Lord Jesus Christ is saying to you.
That is what the Bible in these verses are saying to you!

You should sit, be humble, and learn, and not argue to defend what your Pastors are telling you.

This shows you don't read to understand, you only read to reply, and that's how many people do these days, which is very bad.

What is dread?
Among the heathen or among HIS people. Hello? You must understand frankly that we have another kind of SPIRIT. We possess THE CAPITAL SPIRIT OF GOD ALMIGHTIEST. Not the little one....

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

There's the gospel, the good news being preach by those who are led by THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTIEST, and there are those trying to explain the bible.

I know where you belong. Come up higher.

You are a child of love brother, you are so lovely to fear. Get the fact right, understand approximately, fear isn't your friend, she's an enemy of faith.

Fear and faith can't exist or coexist together. Fear has torment, it dreads.

You haven't received such spirit to dread GOD ALMIGHTIEST if indeed you have been recreated except you are still in your sins.

Understand this; GOD ALMIGHTIEST IS LOVE 💕💕💕!

WE LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US, WE CRY OUT DEAR DADDY ALL THE TIME. Not fear again to bondages!

And be of understanding He also said, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”

Try and understand brother that fear and faith can't live together. If God has given me faith that means fear is gone.

Fear is a spirit brother and faith is also a spirit too.

But does GOD mean everything He says? Yes.
When GOD says there is life and death, He advised you choose life. Does that make it a threat? No.
When GOD said whoever does not believe shall not see life but the wrath of GOD abides on them; was it a threat or the truth?

So, JESUS CHRIST reiterated that He will advise us to fear GOD! That is not talking about just respect. It means, fear GOD for what He is capable of.

And I'll say again, if you know GOD, we won't be here arguing over this.

GOD said of Himself again:

Job 41 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¹ Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
² Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?
³ Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?
⁴ Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?

⁸ Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.
⁹ Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?
¹⁰ None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?

What do you think GOD is saying there in the bolded?

We are talking of fearing GOD here, not faith.
Faith and fear are two different things entirely.

Listen carefully, every single word translated as fear God for his children is is respectful reverence, I actually don't know how to make you understand this. Do you expect your kids to fear you or to respect youhuh

In the same way God isn't expecting you to fear him as his child, but to love and appreciate his lovingkindness and, to honour and respect him.

I understand we have overuse the word fear to mean reverence, it's not. Fear is a spirit, it's not suitable for men of faith.

Fear is the enemy of faith and God doesn't want his children getting scared of him or of anything so ever.

And so he says to us" fear not"

Be strong and very courageous alright.

Fear is the enemy. Walk in faith. And you must remember that faith works by love.

Let me ask you:
*Have you ever for once have a spiritual encounter with GOD?

*Has He made Himself manifested to you for once to see how He is in glory even if He has to reduce His appearance so much to that which you can survive?

*Have you ever heard His voice before?

I am talking from experience, and I tell you GOD is beyond who you think you know.
So when you keep mentioning "respect, respect, respect" I know you don't know this personality you're talking about.

Do you know the Bible mentioned "respect" several times, but said "fear GOD"?

Where in the Bible does it ever say, "respect GOD"? You will find NONE!
So don't tell me the world does not need to "fear GOD" when even our LORD JESUS CHRIST said, "Fear Him, and I say, fear Him."

You are still living in the old covenant...

Hebrews 12:18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

12:19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

12:20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: 12:21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quakesmiley

12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

We live in the city of love brother. The city of great love.

Just for the record.... FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE REMAINS FOREVER AND LOVE IS THE GREATEST!
