Wizkid’s 14-year-old Son Boluwatife Sparks Buzz Online With Rap Debut Teaser by alphonsojidebab(op): 10:58pm On Oct 20, 2025
The entertainment world is buzzing as Boluwatife “Bolu” Balogun, the first son of Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid, has teased his potential entry into the music scene with a confident rap performance that’s got fans talking. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The 14-year-old, born to Wizkid and entrepreneur Shola Ogudu, recently shared a short rap snippet on social media, and it didn’t take long for it to go viral. The young Balogun displayed surprising flow, lyrical confidence, and a bold attitude, rapping about ambition, success, and staying motivated against all odds.

In the clip, Bolu confidently delivers bars with the line: “Get rich or die trying,”—a nod to the famous 50 Cent motto that inspired a generation of hustlers and dreamers.

“Mummy, I’ll Buy You a Lambo” — Boluwatife’s Heartfelt Promise

One line that immediately captured fans’ attention was Bolu’s sweet promise to his mother, Shola Ogudu, where he declared in his rap that he would one day buy her a Lamborghini.

That lyric alone sent fans into a frenzy, flooding social media with reactions. Many praised the teenager for his ambition and maturity, calling the moment both adorable and powerful.

One fan commented,

“See confidence! This boy is already showing signs of greatness. Star Boy blood too strong.”

Another wrote,

“Wizkid’s legacy continues. Bolu is ready to carry the torch.”

Fans Praise Bolu’s Flow and Confidence

The short rap teaser, which first appeared on Instagram Stories, quickly found its way to X (formerly Twitter), where fans and entertainment blogs amplified it. Within hours, clips of Bolu’s performance were trending across Afrobeats circles, earning him praise from both fans and celebrities.

Supporters described his delivery as smooth, youthful, and full of potential, saying that Bolu’s presence on the mic hints at a promising future in music.

One comment read:

“If this is how he’s starting at 14, then by 18 he’ll be unstoppable.”

Others drew comparisons between Bolu’s calm confidence and his father’s signature laid-back style, noting that Wizkid’s musical influence clearly runs in the family.

Mixed Reactions Trail Rap Teaser

However, not everyone was entirely sold. Some fans suggested that Boluwatife’s fame may be amplified by his father’s status rather than his talent alone.

A few critics recalled Wizkid’s controversial comments from 2022, when he called rap music “boring” and “dead.” They found it ironic that his son’s first public foray into music came through rap — the same genre his father had once dismissed.

One user on X joked,

“Wizkid said rap is dead, but his son is here to resurrect it.”

Despite the irony, several figures in the Nigerian music industry showed support. Rapper Olamide, who’s known for encouraging young talents, reportedly liked and reshared the clip, while popular music blog NotJustOk hailed Bolu’s delivery as “confident and catchy.”

“Star Boy Legacy Continues” — Fans React

The buzz surrounding Boluwatife’s rap teaser has reignited discussions about Wizkid’s musical legacy and whether one of his children could one day follow in his footsteps.

Many fans pointed out that Wizkid started his music journey as a teenager under the stage name Lil Prinz, and Bolu’s bold entry into the rap scene might be a full-circle moment for the Balogun family.

On Instagram, a user wrote:

“Bolu is the perfect mix of Wizkid’s calmness and Shola’s drive. This is just the beginning.”

Another added:

“Even if he doesn’t become a musician, you can tell this boy was raised around greatness. The confidence is in his DNA.”

As of now, Boluwatife has not announced whether a full single or EP is in the works, but fans are already anticipating what could be the official debut of another Balogun in the Nigerian music industry.

The Future Looks Bright

Observers say Bolu’s entry into music could mark a new chapter for celebrity kids in Afrobeats, as more star children begin to showcase their creative sides. From Davido’s daughter Imade showing interest in media to Tuface’s kids dabbling in music, the next generation of Nigerian entertainers might be ready to take over sooner than expected.

If Boluwatife continues down this path, it may not be long before we see a father-son collaboration between him and Wizkid — something that fans are already demanding online.

For now, one thing is clear: the Star Boy legacy is alive and evolving — and Bolu Balogun might just be its next chapter.

This is probably one of the reasons why Wizkid realized that he's no longer a kid. Hence, the name change to Big Wiz

You are right about that. The status of children born or cradling when we are already an adult, is one significant physical even that shows us where we really are in life in terms of age and status. Ignoring those signs and never making the necessary and timely changes to our status, attributes, and general doings, often lead to shame and disgrace.
Like me, when you see a child you taught in primary school, now celebrating degrees, you must adjust and reevaluate your status. We don dey really old😂

So what happened?
How many girls have you jilted?
How many hearts have you broken?
How many females have you disflowered?
How many girls have you had sex with?
What's your body count?
So you need deliverance?
Or cleansing from the marine world?
Or why have you not found a reliable partner?
Is your village people doing you?
Or someone's jealous of ya destiny?

Help can come with special prayers. grin
Your head will not remain the same.

The mother raised him well, you people should stop the Wizkid hype because this young man is largely a product of his mum.

“I don’t listen to rap – that sh*t is boring to me, it’s dead now, it’s tired. These guys do the same sh*t, rap on the same beats, same flows.”- Wizkid ( December, 2022)

Amazingly, the child picks the same genre his father had described as "boring" and "dead"

If I had chosen to have a child in my 20th, my child should be 17 years old by now. But oooops, I have never impregnated any girl in my life cuz I am too intentional to make such a mistake.

So, yeah, it's not surprising WizKid has a 14 years old son.
