A. No one trusts Pakistan.
B. Pakistan is non-essential. India is. Put differently, no one cares if Pakistan gets their sh*t together. India, however, is a force multiplier.
India's economy is currently larger than all of Africa. And they're only just getting started.

I do not quite agree with the characterization that India is a trojan horse.
I think they're an interesting player.

If they ever live up to their potential, there is of course the possibility that they could team up with the Hegemony to shaft the Global South.
That'll be North America + Europe + India (and Pacific Hegemon allies).
But that's a long way off and India needs to do the impossible economically. Increase their GDP by 10x. if they're able to do that, fair play to them in whatever direction they choose. They'll have deserved it.

And if India somehow increases their GDP by 10x, no one in the Global South has any excuse.
But as of right now, there is zero reason to prematurely tar India when Russia recovered and China developed thanks to amiable Western ties.

India is reeling from this trade war. While Russia and China had prepared for it.
