Nigeria, Ghana and some Africans speak Nigerian pidgin English.

Well, I'm just here to remind my fellow men that in all they do, they should never act desperate over a girl. Esp a girl you're just wooing. The faster way to get her uninterested is to chase her and act desperate, you'll be kicked to the friendzone!

Here are the rules!

The number of people who speak English should be more than 1.5 billion. The United Kingdom was powerful and conquered many countries.

Today, America is continuing from where they stopped, influencing the world with their music, movies and technology. In fact, you need know the basics of English to be able to program the 4th-Gen computers.

I'm surprised it's only 121 million cause over 70% of Nigerians speak pidgin and with our population of 200 million that is already 140 million from Nigeria alone

Less than 400 million speaking Arab? Despite more than 2 billions who are Islamic faithful, yet prayer must be said in Arabic at all cost .

It is now our own because it is spoken mostly by Nigerians

Oyibo dey indirectly tell us say our population no pass 130 million people. Read in-between the line. Everyone in Nigeria including highly educated Soludo and Ngozi Okonjo Iweala uses pidgin English.

It’s as a result of the population. Other than China, India , US , Russia, and a few others, Nigeria has most people. They need a common language for communication.

But the truth is that this statistic is skewed to favor certain narrative .
Take the languages mentioned here for example Arabic and Spanish.
Let’s look at Spanish, there are major variations from what is spoken in Spain to what they speak in Mexico. Even across all Latin America.
Same with Arabic. In Saudi, Egypt, Yemen even Dubai, they are major variations or Arabic.

Now why do I bring this up? The statistics combined the population in these blocks of countries (Arabic and Spanish speaking countries) and then presented them as a unit. Thus, increasing the population.
Where as for pidgin, they deliberately and surgically carved out what they termed “Nigeria Pidgin” to dilute the total population of pidgin speaking countries.
Add those who speak pidgin from Cameroon, Ghana, Liberia, Gabon and other west African countries, then present the population figure as “Pidgin speaking .“ it will likely top the list or make first five.
Even that French speaking, they might have added Togo and Benin republic and Haiti, like those ones speak the real French. Because I am sure the whole of France population is not up to what they have there.

In times past, the French language was more influential but later, the English language became the world's number one language.

But this has not in anyway diminished the place of the French language on the global stage.

In Africa, the Nigerian pidgin English has gained tremendous recognition given its dynamism and continuous repertoire of new coinages.

The Nigerian pidgin English has continued to feature in our music/songs thereby making it globally attractive and accepted.


Truly, Naija (Nigeria) no dey carry last because las las, everybody go chop breakfast.

So this is another evidence to tell you that the 230 million Nigerians population thing is highly likely not true.

Government should make Nigerian pidgin our official language because it is gradually spreading in west and some parts of southern and eastern Africa
